  1. This will end up as a good trade for the Twins. The fielding highlights of Miller are fantastic. He's got it all with the glove and every throw from anywhere is a rope to the first baseman's chest. With the Brew Crew calling up his brother earlier and Owen hitting a little bit at first, I thought maybe this brother duo might have what it takes. Now I just don't think either can hit. Own got 300+ PA last year at a .674 OPS. This year he hasn't hit at all and isn't getting much of a chance anymore. At this point Doncon looks to have some real upside.
  2. Another great conversation starter from Stringer. I don't have much to add since I've only watched Cleveland when they were dismantling the Twins. Ramirez has more extra base hits than any other player since 2017. The mighty mite also has a mean haymaker, lol. I will say I'm glad the Central is ascending. Maybe we won't have to listen to the qualifiers anymore. I'm hoping KC, Cleveland and the Twins are all in it till the end.
  3. As the article clearly states this proposed move would be in the off-season to be ready for next season. There are many things to consider. First, Jax has stated he would like to make the move. This obviously has something to do with starters being paid better. There might be other factors since the work regimen is so different. He might miss the routine of a starter. The days of the Twins scrounging the dumpster for starters seems to have passed. They have young talent coming. Considering they don't like to pay retail for relievers, the bullpen will present more of a need next year. Will his stuff play? If he keeps his stuff up, will his health continue? Jax has been very reliable, arguably the most reliable reliever during his tenure. How his stuff and health react to a move are unknown. Who moves to open a spot? SWR may never let go of his place. Pablo, Ryan and Ober are entrenched. That leaves Paddack. At 7.5 million next year he may have priced himself out of a role in the Twins meagre bullpen budget. With Jax's work ethic it is intriguing to see what he could become. He is the Twins best candidate for this move ( I wouldn't trust Duran to hold up). If the Twins were willing to spend on the pen then maybe. As things stand I would take a hard pass on this. As a side note it is curious that Driveline's brass would promote something like this. They have a relationship with the ballclub to maintain. Are they over stepping their bounds here?
  4. Ryan Jeffers got in 3 games last week going 3 for 11 with 2 RBI, 2 runs and a walk. He had a hit in each game. A step in the right direction. They eased his workload some, hopefully the mini break will get him going again, it's been a rough month.
  5. If Pablo gave up a couple of early runs and still went 8 with the Twins winning 3-2 he could've boosted his WPA, lol. Opportunity lost! Baby steps for Pablito today, sort of like getting sent down to AAA for one get right start against that lineup, lol. I like his chances of righting the ship the rest of the way.
  6. Move Zebulon to AAA and the Twins will have a couple of arms and a couple of position players locked and loaded. Zebby, Festa, Lee, Wallner and Julien. Not bad and a far cry from a few years ago.
  7. Ya! This is the kind of dreaming on the minors that helps to take the sting out of a couple of tough losses by the big club. If I didn't have the minors to dream on, I don't know how I'd get through a big league season that will always include at least 50 plus losses, lol. Lee 2 dingers from the right handed box is just some sweet music.
  8. I'm high on Keaschall and he hasn't disappointed. I'll say again I don't get the comps with Schobel 5' 170" and Steer 5' 11" 185. Keaschall just seems like a bigger, more explosive athlete with more upside. I agree that left field would be one good option for the righty bat. We may see this guy get his first taste sometime next year. This is when a college bat makes so much sense to get help for the big club in quick fashion.
  9. I don't blame anybody for being frustrated with your posts, you have that effect.
  10. This is a good discussion here and we have an appearance of Otto Von Ballpark! Good times.
  11. Carlos had his second best season by OPS+ at 138 in his first season with the Twins (by one point). He started slow and his OPS with 2 outs and runners in scoring position was .506 in 48 plate appearances. Many complained that he was overrated/not clutch. His other clutch stats that year were pretty good to very good, but I think those 48 plate appearances caught people's eye. This season he is again on pace for his second best by OPS+ at 150, but this time much closer to his best season ever in which he had an OPS+ of 155. His OPS with 2 outs and runners in scoring position is .817 and his slash line in a tie game is .305 .406 .610 1.016. Not too shabby. This year his clutch performance across the board is very good and you are witnessing all that Carlos Correa can bring to a team. I'm satisfied.
  12. Love me some LaVelle, but purely for entertainment purposes only.
  13. 4.5 games back is the prize, c'mon Jay
  14. I didn't know the TC cap logo stood for Twenty Cubans, lol
  15. Per Dan Hayes he said "he needs to communicate better, he's been dealing with nerve and back issues, but didn't want to leave the field." He had an MRI May 26th.
  16. I just did a Google search of DSL players looking for non-Latin names and came across Paul Hoff, a player from Germany and Williams Wong from Italy. In the past I recall noticing other non-Latin players there. The rosters are almost entirely Latin though, but not just Dominican.
  17. Rixon Wingrove, a 24 year old Aussie in low A. 1st base, LF. 6' 4" 260. The Phillies had him from 2021-23 in the FCL and A ball where he OPS 'd in the mid 700's. The Twins signed him this year. He's OPSing .893 and slugging .525 for Fort Myers. G'luck mate.
  18. I got 30-40% chance of rain from 2 to 4. Let's get this one in, this is a couch day for me I need BASEBALL!
  19. Jose woke up late last year hitting 7 homers with a .835 OPS in September and October. Got that costly postseason homer against us. I will not miss him. We may never know the significance of the rubber band.
