  1. What are they waiting for with Moran? The time is now. I will say the changeup in the video looked more like a chase than anything to me.
  2. Watching Ober right now and #5 starter might be his floor.
  3. I'm not one to call for people's heads but I do not want to watch Happ pitch again.
  4. Yes it's too early for all three. For Cavaco he was raw and couldn't even get a piece of the ball last year. It is a good sign that he has improved to moderate production this year. If he keeps progressing that is a good sign.
  5. Not to mention the international players go to MLB camps at a young age and their life is baseball.
  6. An 18 second pitch clock could go a long way towards reducing the surge in pitching injuries we've seen. Without the recovery time most pitchers would have to dial back on the max effort offerings. Les unhittable pitches means more balls in play. Hey the game would be more fun to watch again!
  7. Celestino is called up early because of injuries. Not a good time to make a long term valuation of him.
  8. Just because your paranoid, doesn't mean we're not out to get you!
  9. Might want to check out Gordon's relay to the plate the other day and revaluate. He might not have a top SS cannon, but he could be more than serviceable. Labels get stuck on these guys.
  10. Another point I took from this article is that none of Cleveland's finds were first or second round picks. Civale in the 3rd was the highest. Others came via trade. I think the philosophy here must be that bats are easier to project so you better hop on them early because everybody else can project them as well. Then with pitching being more of a crap shoot take many shots down multiple avenues. I've been paying attention for quite a while now and it appears we are comparatively loaded with pitcher protects. We'll see.
  11. Saying that wins are a useless start doesn't necessarily diminish the achievements of past greats. I'm sure Seth has some stats he approves of that illustrate that greatness.
  12. I'm not so sure he wasn't able to do it, he just wasn't allowed to. Baldelli's double mound visit snafu pulled him when he was going better than today. Small point, yes.
  13. That pitch Gallo hit was a 95mph fastball up and in about 6 inches off the plate. At that point don't you just to your cap?
  14. Maybe even some swings against a lefty! Seriously if they are going to run a 2 catcher platoon with 2 righties, they should split all the at bats. Gotta think the all righty thing was tough on the young catcher.
  15. Bob's said,"Also, I'm going to be REALLY curious what Maeda looks like once the weather warms.Guy pitched in NL West entire career...and didn't pitch in Minnesota til July in 2020 due to Covid." This is a really good point. Maeda relies on command and I can see how the cold could be getting to him. He has appeared frustrated. I'm counting on Kenta figuring it out.
  16. I don't think anybody said those stats count for anything. We are in an age where there are so many outlets for information and in baseball people are dissecting minutia to try to explain things or gain an edge. The Twins have laid an egg. The only solace I would get from those stats are that the talent hasn't just disappeared and things could swing in the other direction.
  17. I'm cold can I have a blanket?
  18. I think this is something that should be looked at by someone with more patience than me. We have rently become aware of a performance dip for pitchers pitching without rest. How about 2 inning outings? Does that effect performance? Could they then be used with one day of rest sometimes or does it have to be more? Might help with the pace of play issues.
  19. Having another righty bat in the outfield like Garlic to mash lefties has been a missing ingredient on the last two teams. Good addition. Never did get Kevin Pillar but Garlic will do.
