  1. It all looks the same in the box score???
  2. Good thing the Twins still have 9 innings left to chip away at things.
  3. I think there's some hindsight involved with the bullpen. I think there's been a few surprises, including Pagan actually being serviceable in low leverage situations, but I can't think of too many guys that were out there that I was all that interested in. And relievers are notoriously wild cards. So, I'm not overly concerned about it. The offense is a much bigger issue for me.
  4. Yeah, but he's not underperforming like CC and Polanco are. He could be more consistent though.
  5. Agreed. I think the "kids" are going to be more important though. I think the veterans will eventually start working towards their typical production. But if this lineup is really going to click, CC and Polanco need to hit too.
  6. I'm glad that they're pitching really well and it is certainly better than the opposite, but it's still May. Far too early to even tease end of the year awards.
  7. This offense has been feast or famine for two seasons now. If they could just average out the peaks and the valleys, they'd probably do a lot of damage with how the pitching staff is performing. I'm still hoping that once things settle in a bit that they can start to produce more consistently. I think getting Lewis in the lineup and at 3B would help quite a bit. Kirilloff looks like his wrist is in the rearview mirror. We've seen what the offense can do when Kirilloff and Larnach are hitting in the same game. That's a nice tease, but I want to see that with regularity.
  8. While I have no problems with Lewis playing the outfield, I do think the issues on the infield are a bigger problem. Assuming the Lewis that we saw last year appears, that's an instant bump both offensively and defensively at 3B.
  9. This is what I was going to say. With this lineup's current level of production, even if the team fixes the bullpen, it still isn't a real contender. The bullpen isn't the top concern for me. Not even close.
  10. Instant "buyers" remorse! 🤣
  11. A car with 6 digits on the odometer that only needs an alternator seems overly optimistic, doesn't it? I suppose if you then told me that it has no floor boards, the rocker panels rusted out in the Reagan administration and otherwise resembles the Blues Brothers car at the end of the police chase scene, I guess I can run with that. And at least the Blues Brothers car got them to their destination, so there is that.
  12. The last couple of series have been good. After that brutal stretch, especially offensively, it's good to see. With Kirilloff in the lineup and producing, that's a huge bonus for the team. Perhaps Larnach can get things going too and really give the lineup a boost until the veterans start being more consistent.
  13. What part of the chicken?
  14. Not everyone has a conveyor system built to bring food and beverage to their Barca lounger, Chief!
  15. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play? It's a long season. Plenty of time to get things back on track. As for Royce, perhaps we should see what he can do other than write him off after one whole game after a long injury recovery.
  16. And I suppose the next thing they're going to tell us is that this team will be the one to actually win a playoff game! Nice try Storylines crew, I ain't buying it!
  17. This is true. I'm not even sure that I want to sign him for 3 unless there's an opt out. At that point, the QO is a moot point for sure.
  18. I'm not sure that I want to do that, but I think both could be done. I would agree that Gray should be the priority though.
  19. Royce is starting at 3B tonight with Lee remaining at SS for Wichita.
  20. Why not both? If they can finagle a Dobnak type deal out of it with Mahle, we're not talking significant enough numbers to think that they couldn't do both. As far as the gamble part, prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Make them earn their spot.
  21. This team just can't beat the Yankees in anything, can they?
  22. You just post date stamped all of those! I'm not falling for that bit again!
  23. This is a nice series win. The Padres have plenty of talent to test the pitching staff and they held their own pretty well and the bats showed enough life to pull out a pair of wins. Overall, a pretty good momentum grab heading into the weekend.
  24. A series win!  How 'bout that!
