  1. I assumed Maeda only went 5 because of his close to 120 pitches in his no hit bid. Glad to see Rogers get the save but thought he was still in the zone too much, thought May would've gotten the 9th instead of Rogers back to back. Really liked Thielbar's inning.
  2. Rogers' looping breaking stuff is breaking into the zone. His fastballs are getting hit, the new kid Vargas, who later won some respect battling Hader, didn't turn a DP as Marwin tried to stretch instead of trying to catch the bad throw.
  3. At the top of Minnesota Sports Lore is Kirby Puckett's legacy of being a 5' 8" underdog who didn't look like a ballplayer but hit his way to Cooperstown.
  4. I think they also affect the bullpen usage of the prior games as well
  5. A different thought, and players can get hurt in any position, but should Buxton be shifted to a corner to reduce the opportunities for the kamikaze?
  6. I'm not solely blaming one side nor Manfred solely, but to me it's another piece of Manfred's legacy that I'm not impressed with, along with the cheating scandals, the minor league's contraction, the rabbit ball home run binge.
  7. This was the season of Bilateral Leg Weakness
  8. Nothing infuriates me more than the parrot
  9. I agree, I'm not a huge fan of DH, but I have loved watching Chili Davis, Thome, Cruz, Molitor. I would dump DH for all interleague competition and WS because I think it's a competitive advantage - DH for those NL teams is their 9th best hitter.
  10. It won't help when the first suspension is given to a pitcher who throws at an Astro
  11. Same - I was hoping for one more bullpen option, especially seeing Rogers' vulnerability in back to back days. Hopefully May or Duffy continue to pitch well and end up being 9th inning options.
  12. As a fan I don't mind the circus of intrigue and conspiracy, and maybe MLB doesn't either if the buzzers were in fact pure nonsense. Astros road attendance will probably be up this year.
  13. If this was a Kris Bryant situation, then there might not be a long term relationship. Service time seems to be a much more sensitive topic than the arbitration process.
  14. I feel better about facing Judge and Stanton in October with Maeda's slider, Bailey's splitter and Hill's curveball. Graterol's 100 can be hit by good hitters.
  15. If Graterol already hadn't had TJ it would make more sense to me. Seems like Maeda could have been gotten for less.
  16. Exactly this. The curve ball flattens out, I assume is release point related, or mechanics affecting release point.
  17. KC had impact pitching during their peak. Impact bullpen pitching of course. Twins have a good bullpen, but not dominant. To me, as a few others have suggested, that's a way to salvage the offseason by trading for a couple more bullpen pieces. A Wade Davis or Jake McGee might cost nothing and benefit from getting out of Colorado. If Hader is being dangled, make an offer. The bullpen is good. But a dominant one could advance in October.
  18. Might be nice to have Moreland scooping throws
  19. Getting Hill back close to the deadline 'will be like making a trade'.
  20. This to me is the reality of Minnesota Twins baseball. Compete for the division every year and fill up the park is the business goal. I wish there was more willingness to take some measured risks that might result in competitive October baseball. That could have happened last July, and is what us faithful are hoping for this offseason.
  21. The Twins knew in July that the rotation had one player committed to 2020. Another reason to do something at the trade deadline that netted an injured relief pitcher, at the last second. Stroman perhaps could have been had. Bumgardner could have been introduced to Minnesota and its horse friendly prairie land.
  22. This FO should be able to rebuild quicker because of their ability to identify and develop pitching talent. If you give up some top talent in a trade there should likely be a plethora ready at Single A ready to bubble up and over.
  23. I was hoping for Cishek as well. Clippard is fine.
