  1. It's interesting to see that Arraez's off field personality matches his on field persona. Fun player to follow.
  2. Keep the Tortuga graphic on the Bullpen Usage Chart for the foreseeable future. He is the best reliever in the Twins bullpen!
  3. Could we please get this version of Josh Donaldson (with healthy legs) at the start of 2022? The presence of that big bat in the middle of the lineup is a game changer.
  4. Bremer is only 65 years old, so odds are he will still be the play by play voice for the 2051 Twins and be the emcee for this reunion. I see no indication Bremer will retire before then.
  5. Those starting pitching matchups look like an 0-6 week. You are pulling the plug too soon on Kepler. In 2021, he has 1.1 WAR, OPS+ of 101. The wOBA and wRC+ look below average, I will give you that. I'm not walking on a guy with 16 HRs so far in 2021 during the worst season of his career and a .215 BABIP. The Twins have him signed for 2-3 more seasons dirt cheap. I can get behind moving Kepler down in the order and putting Arraez leadoff.
  6. The MLB season is a marathon and not a sprint.
  7. The Legend of Lewis Thorpe and his early days continues to grow. It's not that I don't believe these tales of greatness, they just are so different than what he flashes today. It makes me even more nervous to give up Berrios for prospects.
  8. He will be fine, this poor stretch does not dim the bright future for Larnach. He can play out the string in St. Paul or work his way back up to the Twins in 2021. Either is an acceptable path. Rookies need these ABs to learn and they are going to hit rough patches.
  9. Gordon is a first round pick and the Twins are running out of time with him. It's more than fair to paying customers at Target Field for the Twins to give Gordon an extended look in August and September of a lost season. Gordon's athleticism and speed could be a nice complement in the Twins lineup.
  10. Why isn't Nick Gordon playing everyday with the Twins? As much as I love and admire Tortuga, Gordon needs to replace him and then play regularly with the Twins. Let's get a free six week look at what we have.
  11. I'm prepared to die on the hill still believing the 2021 Twins are/were a talented ball club (even after the trade deadline there is still some hope for the immediate future).
  12. In Rocco's defense, he did pinch hit the red hot and Twins best overall hitter Polanco for Tortuga. The television guys (I think Smalley) thought it was an acceptable move. I personally would not have done it. If a guy is feeling it like Tortuga was last night, let him hit. Polo did get an infield hit.
  13. It's beyond tiring watching the Sox hand the Twins their rear ends in a platter this season. Maybe the Twins can save some face and win one of these next two (preferably Wednesday since I'll be at the game). The pitching matchups are lopsided Tuesday and Wednesday both and not in the Twins favor. Oh, how the mighty have fallen from 2019 and 2020. If last night wasn't a slap in the face of Twins fans showing what a trainwreck this season is, then nothing will be.
  14. I couldn't take the posts and all the hand-wringing from the 'against the unwritten rules' folks. Best to just let things ride in a season like 2021 and not stir up any unnecessary HBP back and forth with the Reds. I don't remember any bad blood with the Reds and don't think any of the injuries you mentioned were intentional. The Twins had a good moment with the Reds at Target Field earlier this year honoring Mike Bell.
  15. Yes, great clutch AB from Polanco. Then, of course, I knew the whole time that the Twins closer Colome would slam the door in the 9th and get the save. There's still a lot of entertainment in a lost baseball season like the 2021 version of the Twins.
  16. It's so dang depressing to hear talk of the next competitive window opening in another 2-3 years. It feels as if the Bomba Squad window just opened. Of course, no playoff victories to show for any of it.
  17. I'll be glad when the trade deadline passes. I am not intrigued or interested by the deadline rumors and speculation - it rather annoys me. The thought of losing Berrios makes my blood boil and the possibility of trading "my guys" that I follow only makes me mad. I am certain I'd be a terrible GM.
  18. It stinks to see your club lose your favorite players. There could be more gut punches to come before the trade deadline. One of the worst feelings as a fan is to see your club as a seller at the trade deadline. I know this was the right move and might pay dividends in the future. It's really devastating to see the dreams and promise of a championship that the 2019 (and 2020) Bomba Squad brought to Twins fans slowly crumble away.
  19. The defense by the Angels right fielder, Adam Eaton, really foiled the Twins in the 8th inning.
  20. It's two competitors being competitive. It could be a big deal, probably not though. You'd have to be on the inside to really know. I don't want this incident to negatively impact Arraez. Maybe it's time to cut bait with Donaldson and move him before the trade deadline? JD's time with the Twins has not lived up to expectations.
  21. Outside food is once again allowed at Target Field (no sunflower seeds though). You can also bring up to a 32 ounce factory sealed water bottle so you should be able to feed yourself at the stadium for the same cost as at home.
  22. Old man yells at cloud! Get those dang kids off my lawn!! Anyway, I agree with Nick that this has been an oddly magical first half of the season. It's just been so great to get back into the normal summer routine of a Twins game nearly every day.
  23. Dan Serafini resurfaced years later as a bar owner on Jon Taffer's Bar Rescue reality show. Serafini wasn't a better bar owner than he was as a first round draft pick.
