    Is there a rule that says you can't pitch a successful member of your bullpen if the score is tied or your team is behind yet within striking distance? Rocco is using his bullpen inside out, overusing guys with no sustained track record of success while Romo, Rogers, Duffy, and May gather dust. Maybe Rocco is saving the high leverage arms for the 16 team postseason grind?

    Are you joking or serious? I cannot tell. Masks are said to only protect the spread of the virus, and some debate their effectiveness. Most masks don't offer protection to the wearer. How does Fauci play into this? I can't tell if you are goofing around. The Saints said their plan was approved by the Department of Health.

    Not to mention, Target Field is outside. The detail about the Saints reopening that excited me was no mask needed if you are in your seat.

    Looking at Bullpen Usage Spreadsheet, I noticed neither Romo or Rogers pitched against the White Sox? I guess it is true that I don't recall seeing either one pitch this weekend. Still, it seems strange.

    It would have been nice for Sano to play on Sunday to shake off some rust. Monday is an off day for rest.

    Yes, brilliant of them to try to copy actual ground balls that players might see in games as opposed to just hitting off the fungo. Then, rethinking fielding with the tee work sounds great. Anything to gain that sliver of an advantage. I know coaching youth baseball that fielding drills were always the toughest to duplicate reality and actually increase skill.

    Nice story, inspiring. I honestly don't remember his stint with the Twins.

    The first eight games on the schedule are a concern. Three tough clubs with two of them as the projected toughest AL Central rivals. If our Twins stumble in those first eight games then they almost have to hit the panic button/scramble mode. I do think even if a poor start happens there will be time for the Twins' depth to right the ship.

    I have been thinking to myself that Eddie is my dark horse MVP candidate for 2020. Just been afraid to say it out loud. If the guy hits a hot streak and stays healthy then the sky is the limit in this shortened season. Eddie! Eddie!! Eddie!!!

    Maybe Buxton's body just isn't made to play major league baseball. When does it stop becoming bad luck? I hope Buxton can learn how to conserve his body and stay healthy. I have compared Buxton to an NFL quarterback who refuses to slide or step out of bounds. I hope he 'gets it' and has a long successful career. Right now, that outcome is in doubt and Twins fans should feel frustrated. We don't need Buxton to run through a wall in a standard run of the mill midseason game. We need him on the field for 85% of the team's regular season games and for the postseason. Buxton must find a way to stay on the field.

    It sure would be nice if Alcala turned into something. That Pressley trade really stings and it would be nice to see some return from Alcala.

    I am heading to Sioux Falls next week to catch a couple of Saints games. According to the Sioux Falls local newspaper's website there isn't much mask usage or social distancing observed at the games. This confuses me as the infection rate is greater in Sioux Falls than the county in the metro area where I live. I am just going to go and enjoy live professional baseball.

    Amen to all this. Eddie is the type of guy who will be sorely missed if the Twins don't keep him long term. It might take a year or two of reflection and a new guy struggling a bit before Twins fans realize what Eddie brought to the table. Maybe Falvine will want to keep him?

    I don't know if I would change anything. Or, even care too much since I believe most guys will see some time if the virus keeps players off the field for weeks at a time. I would like to see #60 - Brian Dozier.

    I liken Buxton to an NFL QB who refuses to slide or go out of bounds to avoid hits. Yes, Buxton should go all out every play. He has still has to find a way to stay on the field and not play reckless. Yes, it's a fine line that cannot be defined. Buxton needs to thread that needle, though.

    I am sorry to hear about your friend. I lost one of my best friends from my youth when we were in our late 30s. It is a bummer as you can't get that time back.

    They already have a total 60 player pool, which is almost 2 1/2 regular teams. I'd imagine simulated games at CHS will be the norm. I actually just saw an ad today from the Saints that you can watch the taxi squad practice at CHS from the tables at the pop up restaurant currently operating there. The players are technically responsible for their own housing from an article I saw in the Strib a few weeks ago. I don't know what "St. Paul/Mineapolis prices" means. I suppose they could live anywhere they want to, including suburbs, exurbs, or rural areas that are a reasonable drive to the city. If a player is based at CHS then a small town in Wisconsin east of Hudson is not a difficult commute.

    Not to mention 10 games with Kansas City between August 7 and August 23.

    I am right there with you and don't understand. I assume they want to avoid 2 game series so couldn't do 5 home/5 away equally across the AL Central. I guess it "evened out" for the Twins with unbalanced against their top two (perceived) competitors the Sox and Cleveland. If the Twins had 7 on the road against both the Sox and Cleveland I'd be screaming at the top of my lungs. It should be 5/5 home/away evenly.

    I guess it's alright to have the auxiliary group based out of CHS. I'm just hoping it doesn't mean the St. Paul Saints are punting on the possibility of Saints games at CHS this season. Their public communication so far is that they will get back to playing games at CHS asap.
