Week in Review: Another Backslide

Any fleeting thoughts last week of trading for an impact bat/arm (choose your fighter of Goldschmidt or Hader) is gone. The performance during a crucial time before the deadline was lackluster at best. Falvey, like several GMs in the game, decided to wait until the final 48 hours to be buyers, sellers, or stand pat. The roster screams Sell! Sell! Sell! -
Business terms aside, I like Danielle Hunter. He’s really good when he’s healthy. I’m excited to see what he looks like in Flores’ defense.

Nothing’s stopping us from trading him by the trade deadline if the season goes south. We were never in position to get a high draft pick. The floor is too high for this current roster.

Crucial time in the season, and the last impression before the deadline is a 5 game losing streak. Offense reverting back to its old ways, and the pitching crashing back to Earth. They’re practically begging Falvey to sell for the future tomorrow.

All an opposing team needs to do is start 2 Tommy Milone types and it is game, set, match.

We gave KC their first 3 game win streak all season. You couldn’t time this poor play any worse. Sell sell sell!

Yeah, it was nice to see the offense be okay for a stretch of time. The offense today is what I’ve seen more often that not over the first 90 games. Wouldn’t surprise me if we hear from Rosenthal and other National guys that The Twins are open for business after this game.

This team is certainly doing their best to force Falvey’s hand to sell. I don’t know how you can possibly look at buying trades if we get swept by KC.

Both of these teams have essentially bought their teams over the last couple of years. It’s interesting to see the strategy work out well in Dallas, and disastrously in Queens.
