  1. Every MLB team has 2 or 3 relievers for low leverage outings. There isn’t one team that has 8 high leverage shut down relievers.
  2. Good post and I concur. Pagan is a vast majority of fans’ favorite punching bag. Unfortunately for him, the damage is already done and no amount of perfect innings is going to change the perception of him in a Twins uniform. For the most part, Pagan is fine in his low leverage role. Hopefully now that we’re 25% through the year, we start shuttling more prospects into the pen and see who catches fire.
  3. Phil Cuzzi has to be better than that. When both broadcast teams agree that Kirilloff had no chance you know it’s bad.
  4. Post June 1 release makes the most sense financially for the Vikes. I don’t know who would be willing to trade for him and take on his entire salary.
  5. As am I. Jose Miranda may have a difficult time getting a call up if Lewis produces right away.
  6. Let’s also cut the cord with Dalvin too. We aren’t going to get anything more than a 6th in return so cut him loose.
  7. The defensive talent gets smaller… Yeah, he said early on in the offseason he wanted out. We clear cap space and hopefully sign a couple more free agents still sitting around.
  8. The quote IMO shows he has excellent self awareness. I respect the fact that he pointed out the money he makes and his performance up to date is not acceptable.
  9. Getting flashbacks of being in college ordering shots of tequila at 1:30 AM with this song playing
  10. I don’t know anything about the stuff Popkins does with the players on and off the field. The unfortunate thing is they can’t trade away or DFA everyone that’s struggling so he’ll be the likely scapegoat. If I were Popkins and my job was on the line, I’d argue that the talent I’m working with doesn’t jive with the new rules implemented. Lots of plodding, swing for the fences type of players. Top signing last winter was a Mendoza line 3 true outcomes hitter. Traded away the only elite contact bat in the lineup… I don’t know man, even this average Joe fan recognized the offense was going to be the biggest issue on the team before the season started.
  11. Travel day! Just landed in Sardinia
  12. Injuries will dictate what happens obviously, but in an ideal world… Royce Lewis up in mid June, playing a super utility role including the OF. Donnie Barrels DFA’d and off the team if he does not want to go to AAA. Willi Castro sent to AAA. Miranda needs to start hitting ASAP otherwise he’ll be back in AAA too.
  13. The saving grace is the AL Central is a 2 team division. Cleveland could, and probably will heat up at some point. It’s a race to 83 wins.
  14. The good thing about Smith landing in Philly is he will learn directly from Hassan Reddick. They’re carbon copies of each other. Yeah man, tons of names I really like in the 2nd. Part of me wishes we could have found a trade partner at 23 and receive a couple of 2nds in return. I like Ojulari, Trenton Simpson, and Drew Sanders for LB. O’Cyrus Torrence, Joe Tippman and John Michael Schmitz for interior OL. Porter Jr, Brian Branch, and Julius Brents at CB…
  15. Agreed. I’d love to find a way to get back into the 2nd round. Lots of value there…
  16. Also, let’s make some trades happen tomorrow… Kirk for Lance and a 3rd. Cook to the Dolphins for whatever they offer
  17. I believe it was Ben Leber who said on the radio a couple of weeks ago that Levis was off the internal draft board entirely. And it certainly seems like that’s the case. Hooker is gonna drop to the 3rd round or later. The late steam of him being a 1st rounder never made sense. 25, torn ACL, playing in a Mickey Mouse college offense. I really want to find a way to trade into the 2nd round and grab one of these defensive talents. Tons of value available…
  18. The Eagles just made the rest of the NFL look like fools. How on earth did they get Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith?
  19. Him slipping to the end of the 1st round is just wild.
  20. Im just shocked to see some really quality corners fall this far. And Nolan Smith too. I would have preferred defense at 23.
  21. I’m heading on vacation tomorrow so I am in out of office mode already. Scrolling through Twitter to find any last minute draft steam!
  22. I hope not… But it is also hard to see how the Vikings can make another big contract fit under the cap. He’s wildly underpaid at the moment.
  23. Also, I am predicting Dalvin Cook and ZaDarius Smith will be traded by Sunday morning.
