  1. Doc you should have been here BEFORE the current ownership bought the team.
  2. And as long as it remains teams like the Twins will struggle to make the playoffs 40% of the time and teams like the Yankees and Dodgers will meet for the title. But if you're good with that who am I to disagree.
  3. That will be great. If all we have to do to win the World Series is be competitive with the AL Central. If we have to compete with the Yankees, Dodgers, Red Sox, Phillies and Astros it might be a different story.
  4. At best local television revenues will be cut in half. Good luck with that.
  5. Which means that whatever they do next year will only be a short term plan. Future years will need to generate more dollars or things will get quite grim around these parts baseball wise.
  6. Good to know. However, will also, from what I've heard, not generate any monies for the team. Which tells me that that will be a not very long term solution. Local television revenues will go from $40-$50 million to $4-$5 million.
  7. I love hearing complaints about ownership "frugality" Some of us are old enough to remember a world that existed before they bought this team. Some of us are old enough to remember the Twins being the first team to pay player $3 million a season. Some of us are old enough to remember the Twins being the first team to pay a player $6 million in a season.
  8. I'll be ecstatic if that's the case but, again, all I'm hearing about is the streaming side of things. Not to mention that those cable packages were previously bringing in tens of millions of dollars and everything I'm hearing says that money is going away. Cable options won't be long for this world is they aren't bringing in those dollars.
  9. Be careful what you wish for. You might get it.
  10. Part of a cable package I would have paid for regardless of the presence of the Twins. Will cost me no less with the Twins not on it.
  11. Explain to me why I want to pay for a product I have received for free for my entire life. I went three months without in 2024 and my life was no less complete. I'll be fine. Fewer fans will be interested in the team and attendance will show it. Just sayin
  12. Trading your best player doesn't make you better. KG, Moss, Rod Carew, Blylevin. Has never worked. KAT will likely prove more of the same. Moving Correa is NOT a good idea. Figure out how to NOT make this move.
  13. You might as well throw in Emanuel Rodriguez cuz the Cubs' likelihood of moving Alcantrara is the same as the Twins moving Rodriguez. And, sure, move the best reliever on a club with questionable SP. That makes sense.
  14. Until owners AND players agree to a revenue sharing / salary cap model I will have NO sympathy for anyone other than the fans.
  15. Lots of very successful coaches and managers without big league playing experience. Cast a wide net.
  16. At least in terms of eventual contributions to the big league roster. A lot of car salesmen on the list.
  17. having four times the population (metropolitan area alone) covers some holes as well.
  18. And yet the Twins have as many titles in the last 40 years as the Dodgers. Just sayin
