  1. I see a lot of posters eager to cut ties with Rosario, i.e. DFA him because they feel he is not worth the contract he will be awarded and the presence of Kirilloff and Rooker. I say the same thing goes for Sano. If payroll flexibility is the end game, he's gotta go also. I know he's under contract so its not the same, but the reasoning is the same...performance does meet production. Trade him for bullpen/bench pieces and live with the consequences if he does figure it out.

How does this guy get selected to umpire in the WS?? And draws HP for Game 1!! Must be outstanding in the games he umpires other than Twins games
  3. So let's just have the managers sit in separate rooms with their xbox's or playstations and play the games that way.
  4. I'm fine with the "human factor" involved with umpiring. It's when it becomes biased or when a pitch that has been called one way all game suddenly changes late in the game. Call it the same for both teams the whole game. I believe it was Joe West that once told a young player that he hadn't earned that call yet. That's the stuff that has to go.
  5. Keep Rocco, get rid of Astudillo....
  6. I think I would move Hill and Thielbar up, and drop Donaldson behind them. It is kind of hard to separate expectations from performance, but Donaldson did not perform enough when he was on the field. Nothing was expected out of Hill other than to be the 4/5 starter, which he filled rather nicely, many other teams would have taken his starts and been very happy.
  7. Late to the roster party, work got in the way!! I think Wade over Kirilloff would have been a better call, but either way i think its okay. Austudillo being on the roster though can't be overlooked. He doesn't bring anything that can't be covered by somebody else. We should be used to this though, Gardy kept Punto around for no reason other than "he battles his tail off every night".
  8. C'mon man!! That kind of play will hurt a team for sure.
  9. I like Donaldson's fire, something the Twins have been missing for awhile. I don't know if there is any connection, but it was the same umpiring crew over the weekend as the White Sox series, very little complaining by players or fans.
  10. ESPN has ZERO Twins love, the original game was supposed to be Yankees - Red Sox for the 1,000,000th time. If the Sox didn't suck, we'd be waiting another 10 years to see the Twins on Sunday night, which is fine with me because I cannot stand A-Rod in the booth. He always has to turn the conversation to himself.
  11. The only time I think they should have used small ball last night was when Adrianza hit into a DP. I felt Baldelli should have had him bunting in that situation, even though it would have been lefty-lefty with Avila against Detwiler.
  12. I agree wit the statement that the Sox tried to give the game away. But the Twins DID give the game away. The Sox have destroyed left handed pitching this year, so a close game with the team your fighting for first place with is not a good time to try to fix your left handed bullpen ace. The bats have been coming awake lately, but last night was tough. Who had odds on all 9 Twins batters struggling? Should be an anomaly, but who knows, this is 2020!! Go get 'em tonight boys.
  13. I am a Rosario fan, but he's made a glaring mistake every game for about 2 weeks, time for a day off.
  14. I don't think there are any built in off days during the WC round, they are best of 3 with no travel. Set the rotation and run with it. Hopefully no meltdowns from the starters or the bullpen and the offense is firing on all cylinders.
  15. Seeding may not matter other than for being "assigned" home or away if MLB adapts the "playoff bubble" idea. Yes, the "home" team will still bat last, but all teams will be on the road and away from their families. Preparation and execution would move to the forefront, and "veteran presence" would be much more valued.
  16. They are 5-3 in bullpen games, maybe better than any other options available at this time. But bullpen overuse may catch up to them when it matters.
  17. I did a quick google search and found no results, thank you for taking the time to find and post these!!
  18. https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/more-than-dozen-children-rescued-georgia-sex-trafficking-bust/OHEHJUSWWRBQRHQMBQPGQPORAI/ I have not heard one professional athlete make a statement on this subject (human trafficking), but they are all over the news supporting BLM.
  19. The game continued through 2 World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, the LA and Watts riots, 9/11 and several other "historical events". Professional athletes consider themselves too important these days. They are men getting paid to play kids games. If they want to use their "power" to send a message, then do like Ted Williams, Bob Feller, Stan Musial, Pat Tillman, Jimmy Stewart, Audie Murphy and many others did, be proactive and go fight for your cause. Today's athletes can't even adhere to simple rules (Plesac & Clevinger) or become what they supposedly stand against (Montrzel Harrell). And then there's Bubba Wallace.... Play ball and lets forget about 2020 for a few hours
  20. I'm thinking MLBPA is going to recommend no 2020 season. Lots of players testing positive and more deciding not to play, just a matter of time.....
  21. Starting on June 28 and ending on October 3 is 14 weeks. 6 games a week is 84 games, I would think it would be pretty easy to get to 90-92 games. Because of the odd number of teams in each league, inter-league games will be necessary; 2 home games and 2 road games vs the NL Central is 20 games. 18 games against each divisional foe is 72 games, total 92 games. Ideal, no, but they seem pretty set on restricting travel and I don't see another way of doing it. If you try to also get in 20 games against the AL East and 20 games against the AL West you will only get 32 divisional games, which is not enough in my opinion.
  22. MIke Marshall, Bill Campbell, Ron Perranoski.... There are others. Very tough to narrow it down to 5, but Aggie and Nathan are top 2 hands down.
  23. Not a fan of re-alignment unless its to even out the Leagues (whether its 2 expansion teams or back to a 16 and 14 format). Anyways, here's my thoughts: 15 games against each division opponent = 60 games 2 games against each interleague opponent = 10 games 4 games against each AL East & AL West opponent = 40 games Total = 110 games Eliminate as many "unnecessary" off-days in the Post-Season (both wild card games on same day, all teams play each game day, all teams travel same travel day, etc...)
  24. Bloom trying to run the Red Sox like the Rays, dump salary, develop players, etc... Fans told him to get bent, ownership told him this is Boston not Tampa and now they want out of this deal......
  25. The Red Sox true colors showed through. They are feeeling the fan base pressure and want more from the Twins. I say NO. The Twins deal was with the Dodgers, not the Red Sox. No new prospects, players or money from the Twins. The Sox fleeced the Twins by signing Ortiz and think they can do it again.
