  1. That's what she said! Oops, sorry. I've been watching too many reruns of Two and a Half Men.
  2. Now that's a great idea. Let's start two Twins Daily Pool: one for Bundy and one for Archer. Anyone who wishes to enter the pool has to guess for both players they day on which they get DFA'd. Closest to the actual date wins.
  3. That almost sounds like real life where, no matter what you learned in college and what degree was bestowed on you, the company with which you begin your career tells you to forget college because "this is how we do it."
  4. The picture at the top of the article makes me wonder why every pitcher doesn't blow out his elbow. The look of severe strain in that picture is brutal.
  5. Balazovic, Winder, Canterino, Enlow, Strotman, Sands, Gonzales, Rodriguez, Woods-Richardson, Hernandez. That's ten pitchers in the high minors looking to win a spot in the Twins rotation. If just two accomplish that goal this year, then the rotation looks damn good for several years. And there is even a chance that Maeda may return. As David Carradine used to say - "Patience, Grasshopper".
  6. Three catchers? They have two catchers and a block of stone right now. ?
  7. I never said that. I only pointed out that people express opinions as cold, had facts.
  8. I'm relieved. It's really refreshing to read an optimistic article for a change. Very well done by both posters above and there are no negative Nelly's replying! (I know there is only the initial post and two comments so far. But the complainers usually start right away.)
  9. I think there might have been some "cut and paste" in the evaluation of Moran. It appears that the analysis was written last year with just 2021 changed to 2022. I'm pretty sure he hasn't struck out 40% of minor league hitters this year. ? ?
  10. I agree with your point. The comment you reacted to was about if his statement was really a fact or his interpretation of past events. So I didn't think it made any sense as far as the discussion was concerned. And by the way, I think participation medals are the stupidest thing ever introduced to youth sports.
  11. I have said it often and I'll say it again... Much of the bitching aimed at the front office for not buying free agents or for not trading for (insert your favorite name here) is backed up by nothing. Does anyone know for a fact (and saying that "it seems obvious" is not a fact) that the front office did NOT pursue free agent top-tier pitching? I don't think so. Does anyone know for a fact (see previous sentence) that it was the Twins that didn't get a trade done with Oakland? I don't think so. It takes two sides (or three if you want to include the agents of free agents) to complete any transaction (either signing a free agent or making a trade). The Twins' front office can only make attempts.
  12. I'm sure they would. I know a guy who knows a guy that could just happen to drop by the Marlin offices and have a talk with whomever is in charge of making trades. Know what I mean? ⛏️???
  13. I think Rocco needs Godoy closer than right across the river. He needs Godoy on the bench for in-game decisions.
  14. I have a question.... If they send Larnach to St. Paul so he can play everyday and work on hitting breaking pitches, what is his salary? Does he still get paid the major league minimum of $700K or does he get a minor league salary? If the latter is true, that would be quite a bit to his bank account.
  15. I would agree except I don't know that Urshela has the trade value of Arraez. Either would work for me.
  16. Just send Sano, Arraez, and maybe Spencer Speed to Miami for pitching help. Kirilloff takes over 1B, Miranda becomes the utility guy, and Larnach plays LF. All problems solved! ?
  17. There is always the possibility that Winder (or one of the other young guns) turns out similar to Dwight Gooden (minus the drug problems) or Mark, the Bird, Fidrych. The trade market appears to be non-existent at the moment so give the kids a chance. The Twins' will soon have to make Rule 5 or trade capital decisions on these guys, so now would be a great time to see what their value really is.
  18. Oakland is pitting several teams against one another to drive up the price for Montas. Are the Twins doing the same dance by pitting Oakland against Cincinnati? Castillo or Montas?
  19. Arraez, Balazovic, Enlow, Kepler, Strotman, and Steer for Montas and either Soderstrom or Longeliers (two top catching prospects).
  20. That infield with an outfield of Lewis, Buxton, and Martin would be a world class defensive team with plenty of offense in addition.
  21. One note about Sanchez as a catcher. On MLB radio this morning, the topic of Sanchez's defensive skills was discussed. One of the commentators said that Sanchez is better than most people think. His reasoning was that Sanchez is a big guy and not very agile, but the Yankees insisted on him adopting the one knee on the ground technique. This further erodes a catcher's flexibility. If the Twins allow Sanchez to play in a more traditional style, his defense would be at least average. I'll take average for a second catcher over "atrocious" any day.
  22. I read an alert on my phone this morning that said Correa had signed with the Twins. I figured Randballs was messing with our heads. Then I found out it was the truth! What a shock. But also, this is what I have repeatedly posted that the Twins should do. I finally made an accurate prediction. Yea me!!!! Next up is Arraez, Balazovic, Steer, Rooker, Sano, and Enlow to Oakland for Montas and Shea Longeliers or Tyler Soderstrom (two top catching prospects).
  23. I thought he was a golfer during the Arnold Palmer/Jack Nicklaus era?
