  1. In my mind, I see Lewis' biggest impact being the energy, enthusiasm, and joy to the field every day that may propel other Twins (especially the younger Twins) to also push forward to new heights.
  2. It is my opinion. Opinions are NOT facts. Therefore, I am not "wrong." You just have a different opinion.
  3. Actually, the alternative could possibly be lower ticket prices, a reduced parking fee, and affordable concessions.
  4. As always - it all depends on the cost to obtain him.
  5. I can't "hate" the big spenders (Dodgers) or the non-spenders (A's). Both are operating within the rules of MLB. It reminds me of when my college basketball friends in the 1980's would call coaches cheaters or cowards when they would go into a four-corner offense if they had a 2nd half lead on a much better team. I always told them that if they didn't think they could outscore the better team, then they should use the best "legal" offense available. Don't hate the people following the rules. Hate the rules that allow them to operate as they do now.
  6. To follow up on this point, how many times did Julien get called out looking and the pitch tracker showed the pitch was a ball? I'm not sure he will get better calls until robo-umps are introduced.
  7. Polanco and two highly thought of pitching prospects for a one-year rental and maybe a draft pick? Unless an extension is a sure thing, count me out.
  8. I thoroughly enjoyed the 2023 Twins and the breaking of the playoff curse. But #9 of all time? Not even close (in my humble opinion).
  9. Based on what I saw in September and October, Lewis might not only be a a great player, but he gave me the impression that he will be the heart and soul of the Twins and bring excitement back to Twins' baseball. Get a deal done as fast as possible.
  10. I thought this was a Randball Stu posting. Any team that sets an MLB record for striking out shouldn't make a top ten list. Here are a couple 2023 statistics. HR 21st SB 24th B. 21st K 1st GDP 12th LOB 7th They were a fun team to watch in September and October. But #9 out of 63 Twins' teams? There were probably 9 better teams in the first 15 years alone.
  11. Yes. The Twins can't sign him and waste more money. At the time of the trade, I thought it was a gutsy attempt to improve the team at a very high cost. Unfortunately, it didn't work out (for the Twins). You win some and you lose some.
  12. I "think" the point of the article is that it's mid-December, the front office hasn't given us anything to discuss, and I want to write something.
  13. My guess (and that's all it is) is because, much like Miami last winter, Seattle has pitching prospects and needs at both RF and 2B. Just a guess! It would be a great trade if it happens.
  14. 1. How should innings be "vamped up"? 2. Is it a fact that a lot of Law's ideas are way off? Or is that just your opinion stated as though it is a provable fact?
  15. Isn't his name Ober, not Uber? 😇
  16. NO NO NO!!! That's not the Twins Daily way of doing things! 😁😁 (Is there a sarcasm emoji?)
  17. Thanks to everyone that replied. It helps clarify the situation. (I still think it's a sleazy, but legal, way to get out of a bad situation.)
  18. I guess the question I really have is: If Diamond Sports is owned by Sinclair Communications and is solvent enough to buy sports franchises, why is the TV contract an issue? Something just smells funny to me. The ”bancruptcy" seems like a sneaky (but legal) way to get out of a bad deal.
  19. Completed. It was in the Portland Press Herald a couple days ago.
  20. Any bankruptcy experts in the crowd? Diamond Sports Group is the entity that is having financial difficulties and possibly declaring bankruptcy (or may have declared already). Is that correct? If they are in bankruptcy, why were they able to acquire the Worcester WooSox (Triple A) and the Portland Sea Dogs (Double A) minor league baseball teams? This is a serious question. I don't understand.
  21. Looking at FA never works? What about Verlander, Cole, Eovoldi, Scherzer, Nola?? Don't make blanket statements that aren't true. And no one said that we're trying to trade all of the four guys you mentioned. Those are the four "most likely" salaries that could be used in a trade. Finally, you had to include catcher bias as you do in so many of your posts. I get it. You think Jeffers is crap and that Vasquez was the guy who made the Twins' pitching staff great. I beg to differ. If freeing money by trading Vasquez can lead to obtaining good pitching, good-bye Christian.
  22. He'll be 20 in two days. And Baltimore sources such as Baltimore Banner report that he will be at spring training with a good chance of breaking camp with the Orioles. Also MLB radio was reporting the same thing yesterday.
  23. Haven't you heard about Orioles' prospect Jackson Holliday? He was named MiLB hitter of he year for 2023 and is expected o break camp with he Orioles next spring.
