  1. To me, the most interesting line in the article is: "Check out my thoughts from earlier in the week..". There is nothing in this article that hasn't already been covered (ad nauseum). 1. Who is going to play second? 2. Who will win the last starting pitcher slot? 3. Who wins the last two relief pitcher spots? Wash, Rinse, Repeat
  2. I pretty much agree with you EXCEPT...... I would have to take a long look at a trade of Paddock for a prospect if that prospect was an MLB-ready catcher. Someone similar to Kyle Teal, Samuel Basallo, or Dalton Rushing. Then I would probably make a move.
  3. I think the top priority for the Twins is to find a new candidate to buy the team. The new owners can decide the direction the Twins will head.
  4. If Jeffers and Vasquez stay healthy (even if they have poor offensive years), Cartaya and Camargo will never be given an opportunity to impress the front office.
  5. Wow. It took until the third paragraph before you brought up your personal mantra: "our catching sucks. we must improve our catching". Congratulations on your patience.
  6. Just curious. Why is Jenkins' 90th percentile exit velocity only average but the same number for Rodriquez puts him at the top of the Top 100 list?
  7. This comment is very odd. There are only four sentences so let's take them one at a time. Sentence 1: Why did they back out? My opinion is that the Ishbia brothers were using their "interest" in buying the Twins as leverage with the White Sox. Actually buying the Twins may not have even been in their plans. Twins being "too creative"? I have no idea how the sale could fall apart because of creativity. Sentence 2: What in the world does the past off-season have to do with whether the new owners have the money to add a player or two? The past off-season will be included in the purchase price. If anything, the lack of doing anything may decrease the value of the Twins and free up additional money to add even more at the deadline. Sentence 3. Knowing Minnesotans, if the Pohlads decide not to sell the Twins, I would expect the reaction to more like "well gosh darn it all" than tar and feathers. Sentence 4. I agree.
  8. All these guys invited to spring training but not Paton Eeles? I find that very odd.
  9. In summary, extend your arms and rotate your hips. That was how it was explained to me in the 1950's.
  10. Jamie - Do you know if he got a de-coder ring to go with his belt buckle? 😇
  11. If the Orioles actually do have a "mandate to spend", send them Paddock and a minor league pitcher for Montcastle.
  12. Once again. Can he? Of course he can. Will he? That would be a good topic to discuss.
  13. Yippee!!! More "advanced metrics" to move us closer to Strat-O-Matic Baseball with no actual live players.
  14. And an argument could be made that new owners might be thinking long term instead of a one year shot in the dark
  15. As LambchoP stated, a team needs a few versatile players. But not the majority of the roster. Consistent practice at just one position leads to a solid defense - something the Twins have lacked recently.
  16. As I have said in another article, I think the Twins should allow the new ownership to set the direction of the Twins. Wait until the sale is completed and then move forward (hopefully by the trade deadline). Don't jeopardize the sale when it seems to be very near. To me, a trade for Cease might have to include retaining the Pohlads for another year or two.
  17. Purely from a business standpoint, I think the proper move is to wait until the trade deadline and allow the new owners dictate the direction the team will go. Any big moves now might possibly screw up the sale of the team. Would you want a big splash trade now in exchange for keeping the Pohlads?
