  1. I sort of concur. I would fully agree with you if you had said "must watch" instead of "much watch".
  2. There is one quick fix that will eliminate all of the negative statistical results detailed above. Get the stat nerds to create new, wonderful, bigly advanced metric that twist all the negatives into positives. They can call it RMA+ (Reverse Metric Analysis Plus - I have no idea what the "+" means but I see it a lot so it must be meaningful).
  3. I know this article is about Keaschall but he is getting less ink than someone named Rocco. To respond to the topic, I hope Keaschall is given an extended opportunity to show his potential. But I'm afraid he will be used as a late-inning pinch hitter/runner. Pretty much a waste of his time. Might as well use Bride for that.
  4. I do not understand the Twins' handling of young pitchers. Marco Raya, 22 years old and in his fourth professional season is pulled after he reaches his 48 pitch allotment. Charlee Soto is 19 years old and is in his second professional season is allowed to three 80 pitches. That does not appear to be a organizational philosophy. If Raya is only a 50-pitch hurler, then call him up and make him a long reliever.
  5. A great, and typical, rally by the Twins. Two walks, a HBP, and a sac fly. Crappy defense. No hustle on offense. What an awesome team. And Tuesday is a free televised game for twin city viewers? Glad I live in Maine.
  6. This is my 4th consecutive year asking for this to happen. Do you think that maybe the TD staff doesn't read our comments? Reading the minor league report is always my favorite thing on TD. Normally, the report is fairly well constructed and written. Today's - not so much. It seemed like it may have been a rush job to get it published. There were many partial sentences and clauses that left me wondering what the writer's intent was. And there were many (too many to list) illogical/incorrect statements. Two examples are: 1. In the Kernals game, the writeup tells us that a balk moved Amick and Gonzales to second. Two people moving to 2nd? That would be the quintessential example of two players piggy backing. But also impossible. 2. Also in the Kernal's writeup, in the 8th inning, the Kernals brought in a Juan Mendez who gave up 3 runs. According to the author, this allowed the Carp to "inch closer to reducing the gap which had ballooned to 6-3, in favor of, but slightly threatened Kernals." If the score had been 6-3 and the Carp scored three runs, wouldn't the score be tied? BUT WAIT! The Kernals were ahead 9-3 in the 5th inning (according to the previous paragraph), so all of this makes no sense. There were many more examples like this but my texting finger is starting to hurt.
  7. First Royce Lewis, the Pablo Lopez, and now Austin Martin hit the IL with hamstring pulls. I can hear Oprah yelling "You pulled a hammie! You pulled a hammie! Everyone pulled a hammie!" Don't players stretch out any more? Or is body building to hit home runs the primary warm up routine?
  8. Let me see if I correctly understand "modern" analytical thinking. Pitch count and number of times through the order are the major factors in deciding whether or not to pull a starter? And times through the order outranks pitch count? Ober had a pitch count of 73 after six innings, so that isn't a major concern. That leaves the number of times facing a batter as the primary reason for replacing him. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! Ober had already faced the top of the Royals' order AND the heart of the Royals' order three times. Are the bottom three hitters that formidable that Ober can't face them? Udder nonsense (as any dairy farmer will tell you - pun intended).
  9. What in the world is "overextended" about averaging three inninds per game? And being injured isn't overusing. It's bad luck.
  10. Here are Canterino's stats for his minor league career. 2019 7 games. 25 IP. AVG 3.6 IP/G 2021 6 games. 23 IP. AVG 3.8 IP/G 2022 13 games. 37 IP. AVG 2.8 IP/G Looks like the Twins handled Canterino very similarily to Raya & Prielipp.
  11. I'm afraid that a closed door meeting might be too much effort for this team to expend. Personally, I would prefer to see Martin, Rodriguez, Keaschell, Kiersey, and Eeles playing for the Twins. At least there would be some enthusiasm and hustle displayed. It would be fun to watch players stealing bases, running out ground balls, and encouraging one another instead of leaning over the dugout railing discussing tax shelters.
  12. Bold Prediction: The Pohlad's sell the Twins before the All-Star game. The bigger surprise: The Pohlad's sell the team to me for 100% of my savings account and take the loss as a tax write-off to counteract the massive income gains they receive from the new administration economic policies. The last surprise: I don't have a savings account. Suckers!!!!
  13. Six right handed hitters in the starting lineup against a tough right handed pitcher? What happened to matchups? Maybe defense is being considered as a strategy?
  14. I agree. Horseshit is not good. Even as a garden fertilizer, it has to composted or else it will burn your plants.
  15. As someone who sits on a couch a lot, it is very easy to get injured trying to run, even if it's just to the refrigerator.
  16. What sort of potions are some players out of. Are they legal or are they on the list of banned performance enhancing drugs?
  17. I'm getting the feeling that in college you were probably a mediocre 1B on defense and therefore can easily proclaim that 1B being a defensive position is utterly ridiculous. I wonder what MLB players would say about that.
  18. I got excited when I read the headline. But the "latest Twins ownership update" is that nothing is new except for a worsening of the US economic situation which (in my humble opinion) makes a possible sale of the Twins the least of my concerns.
  19. If Julien and Miranda are both defensive liabilities at 1st base, why are they on the team?
  20. How can Wallner have a "consistently premium contact rate" and still have a 35% strikeout rate and be prone to extended slumps? Seems contradictory to me.
