  1. Someone who knows Buck and C-4 please tell them to hit the balls to right field some and tell Buck to bunt some. As R. Lee Emrey said with enthusiasm in a great scene, where he plays a Marine Drill Instructor in "Full Metal Jacket": "Thank you very much."
  2. Both of the J. Lopez homer pitchers were squarely in the middle of the strike zone. Lopez needs to talk to Sonny Gray about nibbling the edges and pitching high and low, in and out, without walking anyone.
  3. P. Lopez may be a pitcher, but apparently he knows more about hitting than some of the Twins position players.
  4. Matt, You must know by my frequent praise of your articles, you are an outstanding writer. My prior post was my attempt at humor at your expense.
  5. Matt, Thanks for an average article. I had hoped that by June your articles would improve, but as we all know, it takes time. As Gardy used to say; "It's a long season." I must say that I enjoyed some of it, but some of it was just ok and some of it was ranked with the weakest articles appearing in TD. Over-all your writing skills in this article were probably ok currently. Please keep writing your daily articles. They will probably be fine.
  6. I have enjoyed watching really good defensive play by the Twins this year.
  7. In an ideal world the Twins would draft Paul Skenes, who probably will not be available when the number five draft pick is ready to be made. I'd rather have Lewis at SS, Correa at 3B, Lee at 2B and Willie Mays in CF. I know Mays is 92, but he was so good when he was playing CF.
  8. Buxton playing defense and offense and not getting hurt would be the best case scenario for all concerned. However. Buck playing CF obviously increases his chances of getting hurt. To quote that great philosopher, Newman the postman, "Quite the conundrum."
  9. I would add Polo to my list of position players to keep in 2024.
  10. Lewis, Duran, Gray, Correa, Solano, Amazing resilience.
  11. You are spot on about Wallner misplaying that ball. A trade may get rid of some player who has shown lackadaisical effort and also shake some of the remaining Twins players up.
  12. Wallner gets on base his last 8 at bats, uses his rifle arm and throws out a runner at 2B, so the FO sends him down. I could figure out a better way to utilize Wallner (like DH or RF and have Buck play CF) and still activate Kepler. Kepler is a good defender, but brings nothing to the team by way of any observable enthusiasm, and Kepler's constantly pulling the ball has resulted in the phrase, "Kepler hits a 2 hopper to the second baseman for the final out" being repeated so often, that Dick Bremer has a recording with a red button which he presses during Kepler's bats, to rest Bremer's voice and so Bremer's true feelings will not be evident in his voice inflections. With Lewis being activated, the Twins could have traded 35 year old Solano for a really young pitching prospect, or just released Solano. I don't think there is much danger that Solano would be signed by Miami and win the National League batting title.
  13. How does Matt Wallner have a negative 0.159 WPA, when he went 2 for 2 plus 2 walks???????????? If this is correct, then I don't have much use for WPA.
  14. Great report Cody. Really encouraging report about 3 players who have helped the Twins lately.
  15. Great story. I really enjoyed reading it. These young men who play and work for the Twins, are humans who have ups and downs, problems and joys that are common to all of us. Thank you for the reminder.
  16. Seth, Thank you for including the video of Royce Lewis making that impressive double play at 3B. Just an awesome play. Good report.
