  1. Great article Seth. Interesting summaries. I really enjoyed catching up with these prospects. Thank you.
  2. I would rank the 2 North Carolina players one and two. But then I may be a bit biased, since I live in North Carolina.
  3. It will be nice to have a third North Carolinian (Mathews) on the Twins (Ober and Jeffers are the other 2), with the #1 Twins prospect (Jenkins) also being a North Carolinian.
  4. "interstitial time" ? I had to look that one up. Great use of a new word which I have just added to my vocabulary. Thanks Mathew. Also, this was a wonderful article. I hope Willi reads it.
  5. This is such a fun article. Thank you. I look forward to the next decade, and the next.
  6. I don't hear a fat lady singing...however I am in complete agreement with Nick on this. The remaining strength of schedules look fairly equal, except the Twins will be on the road more.
  7. A very eventful week for Minnesota. So much going on, mostly very positive. But those darn Guardians keep winning. I hope the Twins keep the petal to the metal.
  8. Lucas, I sincerely appreciate your sharing your knowledge with us at TD. Thank you.
  9. I would say that the clubhouse effect and leadership qualities can't be overstated. To me, "can't be overstated" means they are very important.
  10. A wise signing by the Twins. C4 throws a baseball like no other SS I know of. Strong and accurate. His baseball knowledge is outstanding. His offense and defense have been wonderful this year.
  11. Great article Cody. Your well written article was about more that numbers. It was about a man who gets back up each and every time he falls. Isn't this the ultimate character test for each of us?
  12. Mike, I agree about Vazquez. His defense and field leadership and his handling of the pitching staff are undervalued in this article. If not Vazquez, who would be the alternate catcher? This also adds to his value to the Twins. There is no one else to do his job.
  13. At the halfway point in a season, the strength of the first half schedule was important in determining the half-way standings. The remaining schedule weighs heavily in deciding where a team finishes the year. How does the Twins' strength of remaining schedule compare to the Guardians' remaining strength of schedule?
  14. Margo vs. Farmer? Until Julian gets back to the Twins, I submit that the Twins need Farmer to play occasionally at 2nd base. Castro and Martin are the 2 other second basemen on the Twins. Both of them are adequate in the OF. Since Wallner is strictly an outfielder, in order to promote Wallner to the Twins, another outfielder, Margo, needs to be traded for some very young, minor league, flame-throwing, low floor, high ceiling pitchers. The Twins can also pay some of Margo's salary, if necessary.
  15. When I was in the infantry in Korea in 1968-1969, we did not have heat tabs to cook our c-rations when we spent 4 days and nights at a time at Guard Post Gladys in the DMZ, nor when we went on 24 hour ambush patrols in the DMZ. Therefore we would open a Claymore mine and pull a strawberry- sized hunk of C-4 plastic explosive out of the back of the Claymore, light it and cook our c-rations over the intense flame, stirring the can of c-rations continuously so the "delicious" contents would not burn, while holding onto the folded back top of the can. The C-4 only exploded when we sent an electrical charge through a long wire from a hand-held clacker, which we squeezed 3-5 times rapidly to send the electric charge through the wire into the C-4, causing an explosion which sent dozens of metal pellets out the front of the Claymore mine. I appreciated the C-4 then and I now appreciate the other C-4, the shortstop, who ignites the Twins at bat and especially in the field with his marvelous play and his explosive arm and his positive energy.
  16. The saying goes that hindsight is 20/20. In hindsight, I would not trade Royce Lewis for anyone else in that draft. His infectious joy at playing baseball is off the charts.
  17. I agree 100% Doc. Good positive character will carry one a long way, whether one is a baseball player or a politician or a voter.
