The test of a man is, when he falls down, does he give up, or get up! Both P. Lopez and J. Duran fell down immediately in their appearances last night. Then Lopez retired 23 in a row and Duran struck out the side. I give them both A +'s.

This topic has been discussed a lot. I appreciate all the various opinions, although I appreciate some more than others. I'm going to stop my discussing of this topic now and get ready to watch the Twins, and who ever is playing for them tonight, beat the White Sox, led by former Twin Lance, "If I Ain't Happy, Nobody Is Going To Be Happy", Lynn. . Goooooooooo Twins.

Do we agree that HIPPA laws prohibit employers from giving out any health information about the players? If so, where does Twins Daily get its info concerning players' injury status reports? Why does Rocco discuss players' health pregame and post- game? Why does the FO discuss the players health to reporters and at Twinsfest? They can do this because, being protected by HIPPA, can be waived by the patient. However, waiving HIPPA restrictions has nothing to do with whether the FO gives out only Pollyanna "good" health information, nor does it free the FO and management to give out misinformation. If that happens, it is misleading and wrong. If the FO and coaches and managers can give out any health information about the players, which we all see being done daily, then it is incumbent on the FO and management to give out correct information. Fire Dan, I usually agree with your comments, but on this issue, I must respectfully disagree.

You are not alone in your thinking Melissa. I also feel Miranda should be at 3B this season. But where will Brooks Lee or Lewis play next year? I could see Miranda being moved to 1B if Kirilloff is not available next year and if Lee is ready for the big show.

Transparency from the FO would be nice in this instance.

If what you say is true, why would the FO not make a statement about Buck's health?

Carrying this current Twins' strategy to the extreme, then the Twins should just sit Buck until September, so that he is guaranteed not to get hurt and the Twins will have him available for sure for the stretch drive. (On the other hand, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results (i.e. Buck playing and getting hurt year after year). Looking at both sides of this conundrum I submit that holding Buck out of CF and eliminating his base stealing and "resting" Buck when he has only been DH'ing is a self-fulfilling prophecy...In effect the Twins are not playing Buck because they are worried if they play Buck he might get hurt and then he can't play. The Twins are saying Buck is "too good to possibly lose to injuries, so therefore don't let him play". That's a head scratcher for me.

Week in Review: Unstoppable Starters
tarheeltwinsfan replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Instead of trading a AAA pitcher, for a hitter, simply promote Julien from AAA for now. Now what position can he play? Let's see, today Wili Castro is a 2B. I believe I would rather see Julien at 2B today. The Twins are too loaded at 2B to be playing Wili Castro there. Polanco (injured, but soon to return), Farmer, who has been hitting well and is a good infielder, and Julien are 3 who could play 2B, as can Lewis when he returns in June or July. No need to trade a AAA pitcher for another hitter. Be patient and use what is, or will soon be, available.- 22 replies

Good article Cody. Thanks.

Good. timely article. Good metric measurements. I agree that the way a catcher calls a game is critical and is difficult, if not impossible, to measure statistically. But it is like Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart wrote in 1964 about his test for obscenity: "I know it when I see it." The Twins pitching staff and coaching staff know a well called game when they see it.

Well said Nick. Cross your fingers. If the Twins pitchers can keep up what they started against KC and Miami, and I think they can, then we'll be OK.

Twins vs. Marlins (4/3-4/5): Series Preview
tarheeltwinsfan replied to Steven Trefz's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Twins win 2 games and lose the second game. Gallo continues to go deep 3 more times. Arraez takes the Twins players, Carlos Correa, Polo, Byron Buxton, Johan Duran, Nick Gordan and P. Lopez out to dinner at Miami's La Rosa - Fine Cuban Cuisine Restaurant, and all the Twins mysteriously get mild food poisoning, while Arraez does not. P. Lopez misses his start due to his stomach issues, however Emilio Pagan, who was not invited to eat at ALa Rosa Restaurant, starts game 3 of this series for the Twins and pitches 9 innings of shutout baseball to gain the victory.- 15 replies

Cedar Rapids Kernels Opening Day Roster - 2023
tarheeltwinsfan replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
No wonder the Mussels have so few major league prospects. They are all here on the Kernels. This is a heck of a minor league team. Shouldn't some of them be on the Mighty Mussels or the Witchita Wind Surge, so they could get more playing time? I count 31 players on this roster, when I include Raya. Seth, why are there no top prospects on the Mighty Mussels, and only two on the Wind Surge AA team (Lee at #1 and Festa at #13) and 7 top prospects on the Kernels (#3, #4, #7, #8, #14, #18, #20)? Are they placed according to current ability and not future predicted ability? I imagine a lot goes into placement of these minor leaguers. Seth, what are some of the criteria used by the FO in placement? Thank you for your outstanding articles about, and interviews with the Twins prospects.- 18 replies
