  1. And I agree with a lot of what you said, but as someone who's languished with the never ending 'late' starts when the Wild are in the playoffs just so it fits the broadcaster's 'window', I like to p&m about it.
  2. My first thought is the Fathead is awesome so I would hesitate to have the strips overlap it at all. 2ndly, with the cards on the strips, the color of the strips will not be as noticeable as the pictured options. If it were me, and using your concept: I would use the strips, trimmed at an angle to line up with edge of the Fathead border (and not overhang), and paint the strips the same yellow as the border. It ties it all together, and with the cards displayed, I don't think the amount of visible yellow will overpower it.
  3. Thursday's schedule won't be set until they know how many games are to be played. You don't think they'll have a preset schedule? It's asking a lot for people to commit to a game that they have no idea when it will be played, literally within the next 12-15 hours or so. I've got a feeling that the scheduled start times will be identical for all 3 games of each series, just to have some sort of consistency. Since they all have their own 'window', you wouldn't need to change anything. Are the ratings 'really' going to be that different? It'd be one thing if there was even one day between games, but here, not announcing game 3 start times until after all game 2s are played, giving people almost no time to make/change arrangements, seems ludicrous.
  4. So...... I believe the FO stated that they were 'rounding third' in regards to figuring out who would be their jersey advertising sponsor of choice. Do you think that that jersey ad will be making it's first appearance on this year's MLB Playoffs Jersey or will they wait until next year? I'd think whoever the sponsor is going to be would be willing to spend a bit more to get the heightened visibility that a sure playoff team would get right out of the gate, especially if their patch is on the jerseys sold at retail.
  5. Byron meeting with Twins brass today to discuss his injury(s)/plan of attack going forward. https://www.startribune.com/byron-buxton-minnesota-twins-leaders-meeting-injuries/600303088/ Depending on how that meeting goes, I wonder if they'll be taking measurements to see if he'll fit in the TC Bear suit.
  6. opening scene of the film....
  7. Man's gotta know his limitations.
  8. Or is Reinsdorf crazy like a fox? I've been starting to hear rumors of 'stadium issues' coming from the South Side, with Nashville (so far) being loosely used as leverage. Poor team performance, coupled with poor attendance are both 'needs' in the "we need a new stadium to stay competitive" game. So cut costs (payroll) and start the "woe is me" stories.
  9. Promoting? The entities pay to have the square there, not the other way around. I doubt Sex World is going to come up with $10M+/yr to put their name on the jerseys. (and don't they still do the free entry with a ticket stub from the game or did that go away with the physical paper "stubs"?
  10. Whose logo you prefer to see. Yes, I'm aware that the overwhelming answer is "no patch", but since $$$ is king, we all know that's not an option unless someone like a Tom Hanks decides to pay for a 'blank' patch to try and rein in the changes to the game.
  11. I'll just add this little locale..... https://www.geneandmarcyhollerhouse.com/
  12. Well, I will say this; Souhan's job is to generate page clicks and stir people up, and like a lot of the people who don't 'get' that the Common Man's schtick is just that, a faux clueless persona, apparently Souhan's take reeled a few of you in as well. The issue I have with Souhan, is you never get HIS actual position on things, you get the contrarian position of the day. Now for the casual reader, that might not matter much or even seem noticeable, but for someone who reads him regularly, it drives me nuts because he'll write an article such as this one, then 3 or 4 days later we'll get another piece where he takes the completely opposite side of the issue, like he'd never written the 1st piece. So now I just take his articles as 'pot stirring' and see who gets taken in by them.
  13. It's "Tastykakes" for one thing (go with the butterscotch Krimpets); have some pierogi; if you're a 'beer' guy, try some Yuenglings; while it's brewed about 100 miles away in Pottsville, it is the oldest brewery in America.
  14. Well, since the arthroscopic clean-up apparently didn't do the trick, outside of replacement, I guess there's the possibility of using the microfracture stem cell surgery procedure if it's a cartilage damage situation. But like others have said, if that's the case, shut it down now, get the 'fix' underway and hope for the best in '24. *Edit. I guess there's the possibility that they tell him that to avoid the replacement at such a young age, he needs to avoid heavy stress on the joint, period.
  15. So, was wondering if there was such a site/rankings chart and lo and behold here it was: https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/valuation Highest ranked Twin is Buxton at #100; Castro is at #110, Gallo at #115, Tayor at #133, Larnach at #155, Solano at #176, Kepler at #210, Correa at #231... I assume this is just batting. Fun little site as you can look and sort all sorts of rankings like in fantasy baseball, but with the salaries of the players tied in as well.
