    Detroit is not a good team or a good city. So they have to overpay players. So does MN.

    He would be a good trade candidate. But why would the Angels trade him with I think 3 years of team control? They are also not swimming in starting pitching either. If Kepler could be somehow used in a deal it could be a good deal.

    Even if the Twins weren't trying to cut payroll the right decision is to sell high now and use him as part of a deal for a starting pitcher.

    Now that would be a solid trade idea. I know they made it sound like Dusty didn't like him or something. But Dusty is gone now. Chaz Mccormick would not be cheap either.

    Maeda is easily replaced by Paddack. Gray on the other hand is not easy for any team. Their best bet would be to pursue a trade with Seattle or possibly another try with Miami.

    I would think 17M at least and probably 4 years. Could be more money on a shorter length of contract.

    Duvall only had 320 AB last year and hit 21 HR. Kirilloff sadly is like Buxton and can't stay healthy. Trading Kepler in a package for a SP also opens another spot for Duvall. Like I tried saying if he gets 500 AB that's 30 HR this team could use for sure.

    Or simply save the prospects and sign Adam Duvall. Give him 500 AB in 2024 between 1st, OF, and DH and I can't see why he wouldn't bring 25-30 HR.

    Adam Duvall and Nick Senzel both should be on the Twins radar. Duvall can play in the OF as well as 1st base. A decent right handed bat with some power that the Twins could use. Senzel could be the Buxton crutch in Centerfield and has played in the infield as well. So he is another righthanded bat with versatility. He won't match MAT with the glove but should be cheap.

    So then he leaves as a free agent after 2024 and you got nothing? Nope. There are always OF available for cheap if the Twins don't feel they have the depth to replace Kepler. Maybe the Twins think about Brooks Lee in the outfield. Right now his only possible position is second base. Then you have Polonco & Julien there for now.

    Flip him for a pitcher with at least 2 years of team control. Or add him along with some prospects for a blockbuster deal. The same should be done with Polonco and it's not about clearing money, it's about trading players in a weak market and they are relatively cheap as well. So the returns couldn't be better.

    The Twins wouldn't be eating 6M in a salary dump. I could see eating 3-4M at most and attaching a low level prospect in a deal to get it done. It also may not make sense but I would still sign a veteran FA to basically a minimum contract to back up Jeffers until Camargo is ready.

    The Yankees aren't just going to give away a left handed starter with 3 years left of team control. He could be a nice target if his medical records look good. You just never know what affect pitching in NY has for some pitchers. He could really blossom without the added pressure. Another former NYY now a free agent I might be interested in would be Frankie Montas if he is healthy.

    Manoah crashed and burned last season so I can't see why Toronto would sell low on him now. He could benefit with change of scenery. But what does Toronto get back for him now? Pretty much nothing I would think. You throw them a potential lottery ticket and hope it works out.

    I can't wait to see more about Lewis and how he does in 2024. The best thing he has going might be that knuckleball. If he doesn't progress through the minors they can always go to him and have him increase the amount of knuckleballs he throws. I know it's a gimmick pitch but it would be the key to his future in baseball.

    Not really. Poor average in the minors with some power. Put him in the majors and he will put up massive strike out numbers and .150 average if lucky.

    I can see it both ways. You could trade him now in a package but you won't be getting the best value now. Or they could just play him in St Paul and see if he can figure it out and then they can either package him then or promote him. But, doing this could lose any possible return if he doesn't play well.

    Trying to fill the holes in the roster with prospects is a recipe for disaster. Just look how many rookies have come up for teams and once the league took time to figure out how to get them out they were back in AAA before you knew it to never be seen again. I don't have a problem with trying a rookie or 2 but expecting them to fill the roles and stay competitive is not realistic. If the Twins "need" to cut payroll they just need to get lucky with a couple of dumpster signings and hope they can stay competitive until the rookies have more experience.

    I would have him working mostly at 1st base with St Paul. It also depends on whether the Twins sign/trade for a 1st baseman this winter.

    Yikes! Pass on Bader for sure. Why would the Twins pay 8M for a guy that can't hit right handed pitching? How many left handed starters are there compared to right handed pitchers, probably 4 right handed to every 1 left handed if not higher. Then you are forced to platoon CF. MAT is a better option over Bader.

    Justin Turner would be a perfect fit for this team. A right handed bat with decent power and a good veteran for leadership.

    Third times a charm right? The Twins have got burned twice signing a player from Japan so now it's there time for things to go the Twins way for once.

    I would not feel bad about Frankie Montas as a low risk signing. Something like a 2 year deal that either has an option that must be met for the second year or an opt out for Montas.
