I'm not trading Varland right now. They have all of three starters signed for next year...... I'd deal SWR and I was/am a believer, he's still barely old enough to drink. I don't know about either of those guys being all that interesting. Neither has the upside I'd want if trading for someone frankly.

Can only play the guys he's given, and CC needs a day off occasionally. I doubt he's alone in deciding Buck is the DH....They have 2 DFA / Backups starting in the OF, plus Kepler (who is hot right now, but been awful most of the year). That's three positions plus Buxton.....leaving not much room for the other 5 hitters.

I'm not sure if that lineup could score against Chief. There were what, three legit MLB hitters playing and two of those are largely unproven (AK and Wallner)?

I think you need to adjust your requirements.....10 qualified players are hitting over .300 right now.

I can't imagine Arraez is undervalued.....his lack of slugging means that they only way he scores is two hits (or a HR) by his teammates.

When wRC+ is right there, there is no reason to use OPS.....

BTW, this is my not loving how the TWins love veterans. Balazovich and maybe Sands are better than Lopez right now....heck, Winder is probably better. This is just like the OF situation....

It was, and might still be, a good risk. Sometimes the right thing doesn't work out.

Well, that win streak was nice, and short. Just cannot field this lineup and expect to win. Jeffers needs to play 2/3 games. Buxton needs to go the IL. Gallo needs to be DFA for Wallner or Kepler or AK. Call up Prato to play third. Promote Lee to AAA to play SS / 3B / 2B. I think they need to trade for a SS (that can move to CF) or a CF. They don't have one for this year or next year.....so a prospect (Polanco should be able to bring one back that is in AA).

Your main point likely stands. Gray will be valued on the FA market, and will get 2-3 years at 20MM plus per year, imo.

I mean, I'd IL Buxton....but they haven't yet, so I don't see them doing it. I agree, they won't put Polanco at third...... I trade him. Tampa and Toronto need 2B. Go get a 45+ value guy, give or take. The younger the better. Likely a few other contenders could use Polanco....

Which is odd. It's not like the SS in AAA is going to the majors....is he? Miranda will be the 3B there soon.....but just put Lee at SS there.
