    What's odd? The saints have AAAA and MLB players facing AAA pitchers. They should score. Not that I love the roster decisions, but this idea that AAA pitching is anywhere near MLB keeps coming up

    I don't think he's at best a number five starter....ymmv, of course. Unless you thinka number four is supplemental. How many pitchers, realistically, should a team develop to the majors in six years, two of which were the pandemic? I mean, no one drafted in the last two years should be expected to be in the majors....

    To be clear, Cleveland trades for guys, as does Tampa. I'm sorry, but they deserve a ton of credit for Ryan. No one in baseball thought he was this good . Also, are we just assuming Varland is bad now?

    I'd be shocked if he didn't have surgery in September. But at least they are finally putting him where he should have been all along.

    I'd fire them now, given they refuse to change this roster. I expect them to fire the hitting coach as a scapegoat at some point .. but for them to keep their jobs. I expect them to get cute in the draft, and pass on the best players again. I'm done with them. Done.

    I'm desperate, though I'd consider even MORE drastic things, like Kiersey or Celestino (not really) in CF over MAT..... I'd IL Buxton until he can play the field. Put Julien at 2B, and Carmago at DH / C.
