    Based on what evidence? All the other guys getting promoted this year? Where would he be playing if polanco was never hurt?

    Those players aren't interchangeable. Miranda has, if we're generous, two defensive homes. One is third, with Lewis and Lee and Severino and Prato and Farmer and Castro. One is first, competing with AK, possibly others. He's not getting DH time with Buxton and Julien and Wallner here. As for there never being a bottle neck, Julien was in AAA until polanco got hurt. Wallner has sat in AAA while Gallo played.

    That fangraphs article shows how bad 24 and 25 will be if they don't bring back Ohtani..... And maybe even if they do. There is no near term future to break. In context, this actually makes sense. Unless you can trade both him and trout and get super lucky....

    I'll be shocked if Gordon is on this roster next year. Miranda is no better fielder than Severino, is he? And Lewis, where do you see him next year? Miranda's fall started last year as the season went on. I'm not convinced.

    Where do you see Miranda playing with Lee, Lewis, Severino, Castro, Farmer on the roster (and maybe Polanco and Julien both being on it next year)? Because none of those are playing SS......and at least two of those are 2B, leaving Lee and Severino and Lewis for 3B....

    Lewis and Polanco will play 3B.....they aren't trading for a 3B. They clearly see those two as this year's 3B going forward.

    90% of fans have no idea the trades that got to this point, I'd guess.

    The top two guys were in the top 50 prospect lists....with Marte in the top 15 in all of baseball.

    DFA gallo Not a hard choice at all.....doesn't matter I guess. It's clear they are willing to play with a clear backup at 3B for a month or more, during a pennant chase. And with Sands in the bullpen, but never pitching. I made my point, sorry for the off topic posts.

    But they aren't the same. Do we think 1 extra chance a game really matters? Put the guy where he'll play and get him ready to be that player.

    And yet, they sit in AA......Other teams promote guys from AA. Last year you told me that they could just as easily promote guys from AA as AAA....... Larnach isn't a future piece, he's shown that now. I mean, he might be, but I don't think we should assume he will be. I know why he's up for this short time, but why not take a chance? You want a 40 man move? You really don't see any player that can't be taken off the 40 man? Really? Yes, I'd rather a guy that MIGHT be a legit 3B be up, rather than a known utility guy. Farmer hasn't hit all year, so no idea why you'd argue that he's the right guy there. They are going how many weeks w/o a starter at 3B? Castro isn't hitting either. Both those guys are backups for a reason.....
