  1. Like Pelfrey and effective pitching
  2. When is the Disney inspirational sports drama being green lighted?
  3. But home runs are an indication of hitting the ball hard, correct? Home runs aren't in play, but would indicate he's hitting the ball well, just flying out at a higher rate than his career numbers would suggest he normally would.
  4. He doesn't have to be better than Mastro, the assumption is Fuld is better than Mastro. Maybe he's just better than the centerfield options available at AAA or AA.
  5. Bartlett was granted his unconditional release after his retirement papers were filed. If he were released before retirement, I'm not sure he would retire as a Twin, not that it really matters to us, maybe it matters to Antony.
  6. I think this is why Corriea wasn't resigned, and why Pelf was signed for 2 years. Meyer this year in place of Corriea, May next in place of Pelf.
  7. Pinto's batting average should come up some over the season. His minor and major league BABIP ranges between .293 and .440. So far this young season it's .243. It's unreasonable to expect .440, but .290 to .340 seems pretty attainable, especially at the rate he is homering. Increasing .05 to .1 back closer to historic numbers should improve his batting average pretty significantly. Mauer is learning a new position, and it's feasible his batting should suffer a bit during the adjustment period. He'll get back to his old slap hitting, lots of doubles. high batting average, self soon.
  8. Wait a minute, your claiming that a pitcher can pitch the 8th AND 9th innings in a save situation? It's not against the rules? Did Mauch pitch a fit over breaking an "unwritten rule" for keeping a pitcher in for the 9th in a save situation?
  9. Thanks Brock, I was getting the TD DTs. Now I can get my fix!
  10. Pelfrey has had 4 good innings, it's not too late to figure it out.
  11. Corriea is performing almost exactly the same as last year. Nolasco has looked better his last couple starts. Hughes got it done today. Gibson has been a bright spot. A tough start by 4/5 of the rotation is a bitter pill to swallow, but a tough start is nothing to get worried about for a seasoned veteran pitcher. The worry doesn't stack, each player is evaluated independently.
  12. He isn't quite polished as an outfielder either. There have been a few fly balls to center that he misplayed as well. Strong fielder? Yes? Only problem hitting? No.
  13. really good stuff ,thank you
  14. I can see being irked by this play 7-0 in the 9th, but in the first? This isn't tee ball, there is no mercy rule, and not everyone gets a turn. Lowrie had the obligation to beat the shift in any way he could. Would the Stros have brushed Lowrie back if he poked a bloop single the other way? Talk about bush league
  15. I hope you are right. With a .1 dWAR (average) at 3rd and so far very good hitting Plouffe, if has has turned a corner in his career, the timing is impeccable. I would like to see him own 3b and actually have competition for Sano when he is ready to come up.
  16. Considering the starters are pitching longer and stronger, I think Tonkin goes down first. I think Arcia will come back before hammer, and might go down when Willingham is ready.
  17. Success away from Coors field is encouraging
  18. Agreed with Brock and Shane, 1-4 has been very effective. Why fix it, if it isn't broken?
  19. It's a good problem to have, but when Arcia and Willingham come back, how do you find room for Colabello, Arcia, Kubel, Willingham, for two corner OF spots? Bench Hammer?
  20. Especially if those players are good at playing baseball on a planet made entirely of styrofoam packing peanuts.
  21. If Colabello were the 25th player on the opening roster...
  22. He's a lock! In all seriousness, it's been great watching him pitch. Keep it up!
