  1. Granted he had a bad year last year, but he hit well in both of his seasons in the minors. I never expected him to continue hitting the way he did, but he's shown the ability over long stretches to hit better than his current streak. I think the mean is somewhere in the middle. this team went from having 4.5 DHs to none in a hurry.
  2. Is it just me, or did Colabello go into a serious hitting funk shortly after being moved to RF? Do you think he'll cone back to life when he gets moved back to DH?
  3. We got a complete game out of Nolasco, can either Corriea or Darnell please make room for a third outfielder? Preferably one with wheels.
  4. I think, if Florimon stays on the 40, he can be optioned to AAA. He's supposed to have options, but the Orioles lost him to the Twins when they took him off their 40. He's still valuable.
  5. Ugh! He's coming up to ride the bench and be an outfielder. What a waste. According to Bernardino "Rookie shortstop Danny Santana was set to be recalled from Triple-A Rochester, but it’s not to replace Pedro Florimon. That distinction, for now, has gone to Eduardo Escobar, who started for the fourth time in five games on Friday night against Baltimore. Santana has played some second base and outfield in the past. Twins player-development staff believes he could handle the outfield if needed there, Antony said, adding, Santana may take some fly balls once he reports to the Twins."
  6. I researched P-Flo, and to the best of my research ability you are correct. http://forum.orioleshangout.com/forums/showthread.php/116720-Pedro-Florimon-claimed-on-waivers-by-Twins its not quotable or official, but indeed, the gist of it, the orioles waived him off the 40, and the Twins claimed him. the fun part is all of the posters in orioles hangout "I don't get it, why just give up?" And "It's no big loss, he's a utility guy at best". Good read, things don't change much...
  7. They wouldn't bring up a Santana to ride the pine, right? I'm excited to see what the kid is all about.
  8. Gardy said Arcia isn't ready, barring a 40 man change, it should be Santana
  9. Gardy said yesterday the the didn't want to bring Arcia back early. Might not be Arcia yet.
  10. According to CBS sports - http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/24548935/twins-place-mike-pelfrey-on-15-day-dl-with-groin-injury Mike Pelfrey has a.... Wait for it.... Groin injury? Deduno is supposed to take his spot in the rotation. Still not clear what the correlating roster move will be. It should be a CF option, but will probably be a pitcher or a catcher. You can never have enough.
  11. I'm with you, like SS, not near enough CF depth close to MLB ready. Hopefully Buxton works out, and then have two good CF options.
  12. I doubt Pelfrey would admit out loud to the press that he deserves to be demoted or moved to the bullpen.
  13. Is the brain trust really going to admit defeat and DFA or release Pelfrey?
  14. Castro for Pelfrey? What if I ask pretty please with sugar on top?
  15. The bullpen situation is similar, they should have stuck a fork in Pelfrey before this start. He's way over-done. We saw both CF and SP situations over the past several years. The FO took a stab at SP, but didn't really bother with CF. Fuld seems like an after thought.
  16. Good for Darnell. I hope he makes a great case to stick.
  17. So I see Hermann come up to bat in the bottom of the 9th with the score tied, and I wonder to myself, "Why the $&@€ is Hermann batting?" And then I remember, "Oh yeah! There's no bench with a 13 man pitching staff and the 26th for the double header is another pitcher". How dumb!
  18. I know right?! Let's take a known excellent fielding, excellent hitting second basemen, who coincidentally played really crappy SS at one point and move him back to short. It's bound to work the second time.
  19. I fell into the false "he's not injured anymore" trap too. I got suckered in by SSS the middle of 2013, instead of paying attention to the shoulder (I assume) acting up late in 2013.
  20. Interesting prediction. It makes a lot of sense since Johnson is now on Pelfrey's spot in the rotation, and he's not exactly a young prospect, so if you ruin him, it's not like you've lost Meyer. How long til Pelf gets the 60 day DL for rotator cuff or something so they can add Meyer to the 40 man?
  21. Have the Twins previous to Dozier been able to fill the relatively easy to replace 2b? Gotta love that Brendan Harris - Nick Punto combination up the middle.
