  1. Buck is a great Baseball announcer. He does a ton of Packers games and he drives me nuts
  2. http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/289102-glen-perkins-grievance-is-settled-but-his-future-in-minnesota-is-not Yup he sure did, not sure that tarnishes his "classiness". These types of things are why unions exist.
  3. hes terrible in every facet and yet Arcia gets DFAd and he gets inserted into the lineup immediately.
  4. Plouffe at first huh? Building trade value or sending Park to AAA?
  5. Yup, by Jim Pohlad himself. As long as he wants the job
  6. yup, cuz Plouffe would be met right now if there were a willingness to trade him and confidence in his bat. I would guess the same w/ Dozier
  7. dsan is terrible fielding at every position and can't hit consistently. Arcia is the same except he could at least provide a home run. With Buxton, Kepler, Grossman, Nunez, Escobar, Dozier, at the positions DSan plays, the team needs a bench bat for the outfield and a defensive specialist/Pinch runner in the infield. Arcia could be the bench bat, I don't know what Santana offers, but at least Beresford fields in the infield well.
  8. i think the injury news may change how this angle is thought of. If many of us said "Man stick a fork in Perk. The guy just can't get healthy, there must be something really wrong". So did some members of the FO. It's worth looking at again in new context
  9. so if you have a lot of 4 & 5 starters why would you resign Milone for 2017 in excess of $6 mil? If you aren't going to resign him, wouldn't you rather give that rotation spot to guy with a shot at the '17 season? It's not like your getting a prospect in trade for Milone. You already have Grossman and Santana for 4th outfielder, what more do you think he'd worth? I don't get it
  10. sure, it's like saying "No offense but..." You can preface an offensive statement with that phrase, it doesn't change that it was an offensive statement.
  11. So, hindsight being 20/20 lets rip a guy with a torn labrum and potentially ended career as s sissy. Well done Mr. Souhan!
  12. id rotate Polanco and Dozier, and not bring Polanco up if there wasn't abs for him
  13. the problem is prospects are promoted through A ball slowly then rushed through double A and Triple A so they come to the bigs with zero polish. So yes I complain about Polanco who is in his last option year with 5 MLB abs and 6 MiLB abs. He's got all the potential to be a very good MLB 2nd basemen but is forced into service by poor roster management.
  14. not a lot of reliability there, and not much in the way of depth at AAA. Someone will get injured. I would go after two players from outside the org that would require a decent salary or trade chip. No issue with dumpster diving, but can't rely on it.
  15. yeah, 30 teams, 6-7 per team if the distribution were normal, you could expect 25-30 (top third of top half) significantly above average pitchers.
  16. Best Sandwich -Jeff Fratzke's Muffuletta from back in the day
  17. and very little high minors info as well. We know he can ride a bench in the bigs like a pro, not much else
  18. thats optimistic. It'll be Chargois going down, because why develop at the bigs when your destined for the World Series?
  19. duff should have more leash. Still don't really know what they have. I think he might be a reliever, but I'd rather see him struggle than Milone
  20. Park is a transitioning vet. Give him some time, he's got the knack and the talent, just need some adjustment period. Will he hit .300, no, but .260 and 35 dingers with .350+ on base is certainly possible. He could be a real nice protection for Sano next year as 3 and 4 or 4 and 5 hitters. Let things settle in for 2016.
  21. I'm more of a metamodernist myself. Might I suggest:
  22. who have they drafted/developed/signed/traded for behind him? If all you're getting is 8-10 years of Mauer, you best be succession planning from day one.
  23. that never attaches so it continually falls off?
  24. According to Wikipedia Ichiro's father's name is Nobuyuki Suzuki (鈴木宣之) which would lead me to believe both are Americanized, and Ichiro would be his given and Suzuki would be his Surname. I would still put Suzuki on his Jersey but by tradition, I would imagine Suzuki would also be what one would call him. So Suzuki Ichiro would be the grammatically correct way to write it. However, the guy seems to want to be called Ichiro. Who am I to judge?
  25. do you think an arm and a leg is reasonable?
