Max Kepler Quietly Climbing Twins Record Books
LambchoP replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Do we have a team option on Kepler for next year, or is this for sure his final year of his contract? -
Will be fun to keep an eye on Zebbys progression. Varland really is fighting it. I think they give him two or three more starts. If he can't find any success by then, move him to the bullpen where he can be a power throwing weapon for the Twins like he was in the playoffs last year. We could use another good bullpen arm anyways...

Should We Be Worried About Alex Kirilloff?
LambchoP replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I'm thinking maybe a AAA trip would do him some good. Plus Keirsey Jr is raking right now and could be a great boost for our offense. Plus he can play center field. -
Make it Official! Twins 6, Mariners 3: Hits Keep Coming
LambchoP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I really wish they would cut Margot and bring up Keirsey Jr. Or send down Kiriloff for a bit to find his swing. I'm worried about our bullpen, especially with Stewart, probably our second best reliever hurt and now Topa probably not coming back anytime soon. Maybe we should stick Varland in the bullpen as long relief man for awhile to take some of the pressure off the rest of the BP. A trade or FA signing probably couldn't hurt either, as long as we stop trading for injured pitchers:(- 27 replies

I hope we get to see Keirsey in MLB soon. He's a definite upgrade over Margot. I don't care that he hits left handed, give him a shot. Maybe swap places with Kiriloff for awhile, give AK a chance to get his swing back in AAA... Also why does it seem like all our minor league pitchers K a lot of hitters, but also cannot control the walks, which is why they never get past the 3rd inning:(

Should We Be Worried About Alex Kirilloff?
LambchoP replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I think the book is out on AK. He'll have to learn to make adjustments quick, or his batting average will be in danger of falling below .200 like Julien's... -
Unfortunately I'm not so sure we have a "pitching pipeline". Sure SWR has looked good, but it's only been three starts. Wait until teams hd e a scouting report on him first before declaring him a success. Look what happened with Varland. This team is one injury in the rotation away from trotting out Randy Dobnak or signing a Dallas Keuchal type. Festa and Raya haven't looked great this year in their VERY short starts..

Mariners 10, Twins 6: Bullpen Blows Up
LambchoP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I just do not understand bringing in our worst hitter Margot to PH for fome of our best hitters, especially in the 4th inning? And then pulling Ober after like 84 pitches? Then having Alcala pitch tro innings when he was clearly out of gas...very questionable management decisions lately... I say we cut Margot and call up Keirsey Jr. Would be an immediate upgrade for both offense and defense, seeing as Margot looks completely lost in the outfield- 73 replies

I think he's about everything you can ask for in a super utility guy. Fun as heck to watch too. I really hope he can stay healthy and keep hitting. It's also nice to have a guy on this team that can actually steal some bases too. Other than Castro I don't think anyone will have more than ten SB. Definitely not Mr Glass Byron Buxton lol...
-
I also love the idea of cutting Margot and calling up Keirsey Jr. I haven't seen Deshawn play yet, but he's got to be a better defender than Margot has been this year. I mean, what the heck happened to Margot, he looks lost out there. If we did call up Keirsey, then they could move E-Rod up to AAA to take his place. Maybe around June they'll consider this, at least they should. Though I doubt they will cut ties with Margot and eat the salary. That would be admitting they were wrong...lol

If Darren Bowen keeps this up dnd continues to develop, the Polanco trade starts to look a whole lot better. ERod continues to mash. I wonder when he'll get moved up to AAA? If he also dominates there I could see a September call up in his future...

I can understand bringing Duran into the game in the 8th if it's to face the opposing teams best hitters. Other than that though, I think he should be the one to close out games. It just brings up bad situations like yesterday. Duran breezed through the 8th,but then we had to hold our breathe and watch Theilbar try to get the save against a bunch of righties. Just have Jax and Stewart pitch 7-8 and let Duran get the most 9th inning save opportunities.

Minor League Report (5/5): Doncon Makes it Rayne
LambchoP replied to Matt Braun's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
I know it's still really early, but Festa is looking more and more like a BP arm. Can strike out a ton of hitters, but seems to run out of gas pretty early. Same with Raya. We'll see what we can get out of them. Real bummer Cory Lewis looks to be seriously hurt, he was someone I really wanted to follow this year...- 7 replies

Tips for Listening to Twins Games on the Radio
LambchoP replied to MichaelHaas's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I'm lucky I live in AZ now and get a free MLB package free from T Mobile. But when I still lived in MN I signed up for MLB package then just used a VPN to get around the blackouts...not sure if that still works, I used this method for most of 2023...- 12 replies

Twins Minor League Report (5/3): Couple of Starters Shove
LambchoP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
I'd like to see how ERod does against AAA pitching. It'd also be nice if Festa and Raya finally start to stretch out and throw five inning per start at least. Either that,or they don't have the stamina and will have to settle for the bullpen, which would really hurt both their values...- 16 replies

Welcome Back, José Miranda. We Missed You.
LambchoP replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
He needs to continue to play everyday. When Lewis comes back, maybe platoon Miranda at 1st base w Kiriloff and give each of them DH duties as well, depending on the opposing pitcher. I'd also like to see Larnach continue to get everyday at bats even against lefties. How are these young guys supposed to improve against lefties if they never have dn opportunity to hit against them? -
If Festa can limit his walks and continue to pitch well, I could see a debut for him later this year. Anyone know what's up with Canterino? I always thought if he could just stay healthy he could be another solid weapon out of our bullpen.

It's Time to Make the Boston Red Sox Fear the Sausage
LambchoP replied to Sherry Cerny's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I'd like to see Martin in center of Buxton needs an IL trip. It'd also be nice to see Varland in the pen as long relief to take some of the pressure off of Paddack or SWR starts...- 19 replies

I'm intrigued by Kiersey Jr. Looks like he plays a good center field too. Maybe give him a shot when Buxton goes on the IL? My guess is they call up Martin again though, which I'm cool with. He's fun to watch

Brock Stewart Dominating the Path Less Traveled
LambchoP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
He could be a closer on any other team. I'd like to see him in the 8th inning more rather than Jax or Theilbar though. If Varland gets put back in the pen we just may have the best bullpen in the game...- 20 replies
