    Glad to see our schedule getting easier but man our starting pitching has been terrible. Aside from Ryan and maybe SWR, everyone else has an ERA of around 5, which would be DFA territory for most competing teams. I also think it's ridiculous for Rocco to NOT consistently put out our best lineup. Having Margot start, but then have him lead off?! Starting Farmer at 2nd over Castro? Jeffers over Vasquez. Sitting Lewis while he's on a tear and out best hitters the same day we sit Buxton? I've been very disappointed with Roccos methods this year, very frustrating.

    I really don't think the twins will be buyers this year, we're just not making the playoffs. I don't think we'll be sellers either though because aside from maybe Kepler or Miranda, maybe Larnach or AK, what do we have that other teams want that were willing to trade? If we could somehow dump Vasquez Farmer Margot or Santana for any return at all that would be a huge win, but I don't see it happening.

    Sure, he plays great defense when he's healthy. But defense alone is not worth 15 million per year. He is waaay too pull happy, I haven't seen him hit anything the other way all year. I think he's basically a .230 hitter with 10-15 HR. Lots of strikeouts, no walks and no stolen bases. Should be hitting towards the bottom of the lineup now probably.

    Once he's healthy they should move Em Rod up to the saints. Let him conquer that last hurdle before a potential call up this September.

    Will be interesting to see who takes advantage of the second base opportunity,Lee or Julien. The starting job is their for the taking, someone just needs to step up and take it. At this point I think Paddack needs a 10 or 15 day IL stint to manage his workload. I say call up Festa for two or three starts and see what he's got. We already tried it unsuccessfully with Varland, give the next guy a try now. Move Varland to the bullpen where we can actually get something out of him hopefully.

    Yes, we should fear Cleveland. They're a better team than us. They've beaten us five times now. Second best record in the AL. Might they regress a bit, probably. But they are the team to beat in the central for sure.

    Other than Kepler I don't think we have anything a contending team would want. If they can find some way to dump Vasquez, Margot, Farmer or Theilbar and get anything at all in return, I'd call that a win. What the twins really need is starting pitching. Someone like Garrett Crochet, Jesus Luzardo. I just don't see them going for it this year. Too inconsistent.

    I doubt the twins make a big move at the deadline, and definitely not for a rental. We're not winning a world series this year and they know it. I'd say give Miranda the bulk of the starts at 1st base as an audition for the starting role next season. Dump Margot, Farmer and Santana and call up the guys in the minors playing well like Keirsey, ERod dnd maybe Festa. Then next off-season look to pick up a front end starter, maybe a bullpen piece and some legit backups and we might have a chance.

    Well it's usually cheaper to build a winning bullpen than a winning rotation and looks like that's what the twins have done. With Duran Jax and Stewart in late innings, then a power arm of Alcala, Varland and hopefully at some point Canterino we've got a shot at having one of the best bullpens in the game. Seeing Alcala come back up throwing 100 is great to see.

    I don't know if it's Baldelli's decision or management, but this obsession with platooning, leaving someone like Vasquez to hit in the 8th inning when Jeffers was available is just ridiculous. Day after day well see our best hitters sitting in favor of our worst hitters, just because of which side they hit from. I don't get it. Vasquez and Margot at a minimum need to go. We have other options that can't be any worse. I sadly also think Thielbar is cooked. Any relief pitcher with a 6 era would be DFAd already on a contending team.

    Glad to see our guys getting healthy. What's up with Em Rod, he's been out a few games now, hopefully nothing too serious. I wish we had some news or updates on Canterino as well. Coming out of spring training I thought he looked great and could be a weapon in our bullpen. He went down and then no news since.

    I think the best move would be to DFA Margot and try to pass him through waivers. If they want a right handed replacement since management is so obsessed with platooning, call up Martin. If we just want to find the best bat, try Keirsey Jr for awhile. At least he can play solid center field for when Buxton goes down again. AK looks lost at the plate. Larnach has good pop but can't do much in the field. Wallner has gone on a hr binge at St Paul lately. With all these options I really doubt they bring in anyone from outside. If anything, I think they'll pick up a reliever or two. Most likely injured lol...

    He's looked pretty good so far despite the shaky command. Sad to say but it really looks like Theilbar is cooked and I think if there's a team out there that wants him, we should listen on a trade. Then try to find a solid lefty to pair with Okert. Not sure how Aroldis Chapman's doing this year, but he was lights out last year and only making like 5 million or something...

    I think Luzardo would be worth going after. A solid lefty atop our rotation for another two years. Depends on what Miami wants in return of course. Give them Gabriel Gonzalez, Festa or Raya and someone like Varland or Larnach/Wallner.

    I say go for it. Twins could really use a solid lefty atop our rotation with Lopez and Ryan. Couple ideas... Wallner or Larnach. Julien and Raya Julien, Gonzalez, Raya or Festa Gonzales, Raya or Festa and varland

    Sure Santana plays good defense but first base is a bat first power position. Hopefully Miranda does well there, but if it's not going to be him long term I really think the Twins need a long term solution at first like Vlad or Alonzo...we could afford it if we could somehow find a way out of the garbage contracts like Vasquez Farmer Margot and Santana. Dump even two or three of these guys on someone else and there's the 20 million needed to sign someone who can be our new 1baseman power hitter.

    Nice to see Royce Lewis, Brooks Lee and Walker Jenkins all healthy again. Wallner sure looks like he's figured it out finally. I'd say call up him, Keirsey Jr or Austin Martin and DFA Margot. It's past time. Then E-Rod could get the well deserved promotion to AAA. Looks like twins have quite a few bats looking good in the minors. Maybe we can use some of them to get some impact pitching, because pitching side of our minor leaguers don't look nearly as good.

    Crossing my fingers he can stay on the field. Unfortunately he reminds me too much of a young Buxton. Comes up, looks like a team MVP but keeps getting hurt. Shows flashes of greatness but can never do it long term, and then after 3 or four years the injuries take their toll and the player is basically a shell of their former MVP looking self. Just like Buck:(

    I'd love to see us grab a solid starter or at least a bullpen arm. Twins really do need a long term power hitting first baseman but the way Miranda is hitting I think they go with him, being he's cheap and locked up for a long time. Any additions should come on the pitching side or backup utility types to replace Farmer Margot and Vasquez.

    Julien was the right call for a reset in AAA. He's got to figure out a two strike approach, way too many strikeouts looking. We've been real lucky with our starting pitching health which is huge. We are one injury away from debuting Festa, who hasn't found any consistency in St Paul. Dobnak? Varland? We'd be in real trouble. If we really are going to make a playoff push I think we move Varland to the pen and go after a solid starting pitcher. Preferably one that's not just a straight rental.

    Mathews has been great so far, but isn't he on the IL now too? And does anyone know anything about Canterino? It seems like he's pretty much cooked as a starter due to health, but I thought he had a chance to be a real weapon in our bullpen if he could ever stay on the field.

    Ryan has looked good but he kind of has me worried. He got absolutely rocked by the Astros last night. Plus there was last year. He looked this great in the first half and then boom, struggled in the second half. Hopefully he can keep doing well. I think Paddack will need a 10 or 15 day IL stint just to manage his innings. Unfortunately there is no great option to fill in for him. Varland has looked bad all year and Festa can't seem to find his control or any consistency. Twins are one injury in the rotation away from being in real trouble...

    Totally agree with the first comment. It is past time to dump dead wood on the team and give opportunity elsewhere. DFA Margot and replace him with Austin Martin or Keirsey Jr. Dump Farmer when Lewis comes back. Letting our lefties actually hit for a whole game would be a good start too, rather than an automatic platoon...

    Castro has been very good for us. He adds so much value to the team due to his versatility. I wonder what we could get back for him in a trade? His role on the team could potentially be filled by Austin Martin. And if we could get some solid pitching for him I'd say trade him while his value is highest.

    Vasquez is a good defensive catcher and it's been fun to watch him throwing out potential base stealers. He is pretty much an automatic out at the plate this year though, and it is not sustainable given the struggles of so many of our other RH hitters. I'd say cut or losses and call up Camargo or whoever else is looking good. Wouldn't take much at all to improve over Vasquezs rally killing numbers...
