WOW Rocco finally took Correa out of 3 spot and the game. It is so sad that our 2 $100 million players can not produce and we win with them on the bench. If Correa would have come up to bat with bases loaded he would have hit into a double play. Maybe Rocco will finally move him down in the lineup. I was wondering how long Rocco would leave Lopez in the game last night. One of the worse outings ever by Minnesota RP. Hope we do not use him for any close games. He makes Pagan look good.

When your top 2 paid hitters both hit into double plays it shows the Twins are in trouble. Only Rocco knows why he keeps batting Correa at top of lineup when he is just not hitting. Rocco must think Correa will start hitting, but maybe dropping him in lineup will help take pressure off of him. No other team in baseball has a number 3 hitter with a average of about .200. Rocco will just not make changes and that is one of his problems. If he refuses to make changes then the Twins need to hire a new manager, but the front office just extended his contract. I guess we will have to put with losing teams and Rocco for another 3 years which is so sad for Twins fans.

Twins Left-Handed "Depth" is Testing the Limits
John Belinski replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
With Gallo having problem with his leg it would have seemed to make sense to put him on IR and let Wallner play a few more games with the Twins. This should have been a easy choice for the front office.- 76 replies

Maybe Lewis is the spark that has been missing. Without him the Twins would have lost that game. Sometimes when a player gets hot it also rubs off on other players so the whole team plays better.

I hope the Twins can win 1 game, but they way they are playing it would be a surprise if they win 2 games. Sending Walkner down made no sense for a team that needs hitters and base runners, but what can we expect from our front office. It seems like the Twins have no leadership anywhere, not in the front office, not from manager and not from players. Unless something changes the Twins will not be a winning team. Looking at last half of 2022 and now 2023 unless something changes the Twins will have a losing record. It seems like the front office and the manager are just hoping something changes, but are not willing to make changes. It is hard to be a Twin's fan and watch this team play poorly.

Week in Review: Beautiful Weather, Ugly Baseball
John Belinski replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The team really needs leadership and it just doesn't seem like Rocco can provide it plus no player seems like a leader. The 2 high paid players should be expected to provide leadership, but have not shown any leadership due to poor hitting. Buck is really a part time player and Correa is hitting about .200.- 29 replies

The Twins front office just extended his contract so they would look foolish if they replaced him, but they looked foolish when they extended him.- 29 replies

Blue Jays 3, Twins 0: Time to Do Something Else
John Belinski replied to Steven Trefz's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Sending Wallner down just did not make any sense when he has been on base 8 times in a row. If the Twins had a good front office they would have found a way to keep him playing. Why not IR Gallo who has an injury and is not hitting? It seems odd that fans have some ideas, but the front office doesn't.- 77 replies

Searching for a Spark
John Belinski replied to Hans Birkeland's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I was surprised they did not find a way to keep Wallner on the roster since he was doing so well. We need hitters and baserunners. I think he was on base 8 times in a row. It seems that they should have found a way to play him. When a team has a hot batter they should play him until he cools off. The Twins do not have any player that has spark and need to find one to be a winning team. The 2 high paid stars are not providing any spark and if they do not start hitting the Twins will have a hard time keeping a winning record.- 11 replies

Both Lopez's have been disappointments. Starter Lopez looks like a number 4 or 5 starter and RP Lopez just cannot be counted on. I expected more from both of them.

Bases loaded and the Twins have a hitter that is 0-7 in last 2 games with 4 K's coming to bat so I was thinking that maybe Rocco would pinch hit for him, but that was too much to hope for. Instead he does pinch hit for AK later in the game. Rocco has no feel for the game. Looks like Twins will have losing record by end of May. Then maybe the front office will give him another new contract for 5 more years of losing. I feel sorry for the fans.

The Twins Were Wise to Pass on These 3 Sluggers
John Belinski replied to Lou Hennessy's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
One could add Correa's name to this list due to his poor hitting so far this season. I was not a fan of signing him , but Twin's fans have to hope he gets better for many years to come since his big contract will not allow the Twins to sign other players.- 18 replies

In looking at Rocco's 2022 record shows he is not a good manager. Rocco had a losing record in 1 run games and losing record in extra inning games. Manager's choices in close games show the difference between good managers and poor managers. Good managers win close games and poor managers lose close games. If the front office is 100% behind Rocco then they should be replaced, but do not think that will happen. It appears they are happy with a .500 record give or take a few games so fans have to accept a .500 team. The Twins are not a big market team so guess fans will have to learn to cheer for a .500 team.

Blayne Enlow is Out to Prove He Belongs
John Belinski replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
It appears his control has really improved. Our RP's walk to many batters and some of those batters are hitting under .200. There is just no reason to walk a weak hitter. In a recent game we walked 4 batters and 3 of them scored. If I was that bad at my job I would not have a job for long. Rocco would say the pitcher was having an off night, but how many off nights do you get before being replaced? -
If our 2 highly paid stars do not start hitting better it will be a long season. I was not a fan of signing Correa and so far he had not shown that he deserves the big contract. He is just not hitting like a star player.

Giants 4, Twins 3: As Bad As It Gets?
John Belinski replied to Steven Trefz's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Any one who expects help from the Twins front office is going to be disappointed since they decided to extend Rocco. Is the front office really that bad at looking at Rocco's record. Rocco has no clue on how to handle pitchers, had losing record in 1 run games last year and had losing record in extra inning games. The Twins will be lucky to have a winning record by the end of May and the front office decides to extend Rocco. No other team is going to hire Rocco away from the Twins unless some high school team needs a coach. -
Did these 10 players struggle the most during their Twins career?
John Belinski commented on jlarson's blog entry in batting 9th and playing right field
One of these worst players hit .266 and one hit .274 so they would be stars on this weak hitting team. -
It appears the Twins may not have a winning record by the end of May. Last year it took 4 months to drop below .500, but it may happen in May this year. Just do not understand why anyone thinks Rocco is a good manager? There must be better choices out there, but we may be stuck with him for many losing years to come. He has no clue on how to handle pitchers, had losing record last year in one run games and losing record in extra inning games. Why is he still the manager of the Twins?

After looking at last years records with bases loaded it appears the trade of Gio has really hurt the Twins production. The Twins gave away a player that could be their starting 3rd baseman with a batting average of .302. One has to wonder how many more games the Twins would have won if that trade had not been made. After the Twins traded away their best hitter for pitching help the trade of Gio should have never been made.

One number that shows the Twins have problems with men on base is hitting into too many double plays. In Sunday's game LA hit into 0 double plays and Twins hit into 3 double plays. We will not be a winning team until we solve that problem.

Another good game by the Twins. We need more complete games by the Twins if they want to be in the playoff.
