I don't think CES will reach Baltimore as he was traded to Cincinnati- 21 replies

He was absolutely awful for most of last year. Over the last month and a half or so (from what i heard) he stopped using a pitch. I don't remember which. During that time, he had very good numbers. Look at this year now 1 ER over 5.2 innings, 1 BB and 4 K, 1.69 ERA. If he keeps this up, he is back, and we have 6 guys who can lock it down.

Kepler would have been a nice one to predict. -

Why not just take a Bailey Ober for #5? -
Nothing HAS to happen. The younger guys have options. I don't know that the FO over valued Kep. I do believe some fans/writers overvalued him. But this could just be posturing as well. If they have a team that is interested in him but won't meet your "demands" in a trade. You say you are keeping and see how desperate they are.
-
Correct. It should be a big belief. The Astros played small ball, base stealing, Hit and run, Bunt etc. Obviously they didn't have the health issues. But they can't just ignore that part of game.
-
Kind of like a better (offensive) Romine? I think that is the guy that play 9 positions a couple years ago. I see all the stolen bases and feel like that plays in the majors. If only Rocco would allow it, or do you think that was more of a shift issue, as to why he didnt have them play that game?

Can anyone tell me anything about Helman? I know he isn't high on the prospect list but is on top 30. He is at AAA and looks like he could be a good utility. What is holding him up, Farmer/Gordon?

Trading a Bat for an Arm
Paul Walerius replied to Hunter McCall's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
So far what we saw from lewis was that he can make up for loss average wise but I believe all three would be more power by a mile. Even if they hit .280 -.290 I would be happy. -
Like you said, less than 100 games. I think they had to give him a full year to decide, however, they were moving him around last year. I also think the other part of it is the depth at OF positions, so if they can help him with footwork (at SS) or whatever the issue is, they need to try to work through that too.

Twins Need a Minnesota Miracle
Paul Walerius replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Pablo Reyes? I think you might have a couple people combined for that name. ? Also, despite the "miracles" for Vikings the end result will be the same as Twins playoff experience lately. We don't need miracles just people who perform when needed.- 81 replies

Rumor: Arraez Potentially on Trade Block for Pitching
Paul Walerius replied to Vanimal46's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
I was going to make the same point about the leg injuries. He is also not above average at 1B or even average. He doesn't commit errors, which is good, but he also doesn't have the instincts (at this point) or range. He honestly is a light hitting (although he hits a lot) DH, no natural position. -
1st off I do agree about Arraez. He was a GG winner (I believe) and don't mind him over there for 80 or so games. He is kind of the Escobar type where he isn't great at any one position but plays all over the infield well (if that makes sense). If Twins were to sign Abreu, I am guessing they would only want him at 1B for 20-30 games. Kirilloff/Miranda would fill in the other 50-60 games at 1B. As far as competing with the Padres, I think he is familiar with the Twins so that should help. Also, the Twins stay around 50% (or less) of revenue so they could easily fit the salary. My guess is one or both of Polanco and Kepler would be traded to make this work. I don't see losing those two hurting too much if Correa/Bogearts were brought in. I honestly would lean XB, I really like guys that hit over 300 and if you got Abreu and XB there would be, at least 3.

Twins Must Fix Infield Defense in 2023
Paul Walerius replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Polanco has been hurt more than not. Let's say Correa/Bogarts is our SS, does anyone know if Julien has the range at 2B? Farmer I am sure does but I think he is more of a UTIL. Arreaz could slide over to 2B as well which could allow a signing at 1B as well (Bell?)- 18 replies

Thielbar gave up runs in 15 of 67 (22%) 3.49 ERA Fulmer with twins 7 of 26 (27%) and Tigers 10-41 (24%) overall 17-67 (25%) 3.39 ERA Lopez with twins 6 of 23 (26%) and Orioles 10 of 44 (23%) overall 16 of 67(24%) 2.54 ERA Duran 9 of 57 (16%) 1.86 ERA Jax 17 of 65 (26%) 3.36 ERA Moran 7 of 31 (22%) 2.21 ERA Overall there is really no difference across the board (other than Duran). So again it comes down to how they tell them to pitch, Don't be predictable.

I actually like this alot but I would prefer Arreaz over Polanco at this point. Polo is injured too often and Arreaz hits. -
