  1. If not for an error that inning, his performance is 2 runs over 5 innings. Like someone said, snowballed after that. Has to learn to overcome those errors though.
  2. Nice job from both our ex-Twins and rehabbing Twins. Great to see Miranda have some success.
  3. Waivers. I believe he's been through this 3 or 4 times with the Twins in his career and never been claimed.
  4. Congrats to Zebby Matthews on an early promotion. Miller with a very good ending to his week. Jorel Ortega - I just noticed that he has 11 SB's to go with his great hitting this year. He really deserves to move up a level. I wonder if they will push Schobel to Wichita to make room, when Brooks Lee moves to the Saints. Cardenas seems to be in line for a promotion to Wichita and Winkel (Isola almost never catches anyway and really shouldn't be listed as a catcher on the roster).
  5. He's holding down SS until Brooks Lee arrives in July. Lewis would be there but he obviously is going to be playing 3B for the Twins this year.
  6. Yes, someone please answer this. It's been asked for weeks now. He seems to be on a 3 inning limit no matter how many pitches he throws. 40 pitches! How can he not come out for the 4th inning. If he gets any better, he's going to get them out with 25 pitches in the 3 innings. Don't get this at all. Odd night for our pitchers. Saints once again use the 1 inning opener for Balazovic. Funderburk makes 2 throwing errors. Great pitching by Carr (who does every other game now) and Rozek (who needed a great game).
  7. I wanted Abreu but was wrong. Of course, I would have played him at DH and Buxton in CF so if I knew that Buxton wouldn't play CF, I wouldn't have wanted him.
  8. I'll take Emma Rodriguez as the player who will take off this year and we'll forget about this slow start.
  9. 2024. I love Brooks Lee but look at his #'s in May. I believe the batting average is below .200. He needs time in the minors.
  10. Enlow and Nowlin with very good games. How long do you wait to move Enlow to St. Paul. We may see him with the Twins if he keeps this up. Some good relief performances from Bentley and Grace. Headrick with a bit of a clunker.
  11. Very SSS but I listened to a couple games online in which Mack was catching this year. He was missing catching strike pitches and the announcers were saying he wasn't doing well defensively. After that, I thought Cossetti was sure to take his spot at some point this year.
  12. But, to where? I don't think Miller and Salas are moving anywhere this year. Maybe Schobel moves to Wichita to make room for him but I'm not sure that is a great idea.
  13. Wood-Richardson has not been good this year. He sure could use a good game soon. My belief is if the organization has a future Twins catcher, he is with Cedar Rapids. Both Cardenas and Cossetti look like they have a chance to hit well enough and it sounds like they can play defense. Some could certainly argue that Olivar is the guy with Fort Myers and Winkel bats LH and could be a possibility if he can improve his caught stealing #'s.
  14. There are guys not in the top 20 prospect list who are doing very well (Rosario, Jones, Lewis, Grace). Two more guys doing great from the top 20 list are Enlow and Headrick (and Helman when healthy).
  15. All that talent from the young guys in Cedar Rapids seems to be turning into more and more wins. Keep it up guys! Not sure we want to push many of these guys up to Wichita at mid-season (maybe a couple pitchers). That makes it tough for guys from Fort Myers to find a spot in Cedar Rapids. There is a spot for Cossetti though.
  16. The Yankees are now considering DFA'ing Josh Donaldson. That trade was good for us just to get out from under that contract.
  17. Yes, I believe they do. The problem is with his hitting, the way he started out this year. Cossetti keeps hitting in Fort Myers. I really think they should move him up to Cedar Rapids now. Can't seem to get an real good read on his defense. Both these guys catch the majority of the time, (Cossetti splits time with Olivar 50/50) which is not the case with most of our past catchers who could actually hit the ball in the minors, in recent times.
  18. I will also vote no on these three. I would rather give Contreras another shot. Castro can platoon with him in CF. Contreras has good #'s in St. Paul. Good defense, has speed, takes walks. Lets give him another shot to show that he isn't a AAAA player. The guy I would rather have is Michael Helman. Alas, of all the rotten luck for him, he is out with a dislocated shoulder.
  19. I've got Cory Lewis going to Cedar Rapids, Regi Grace going to Wichita, Enlow to St. Paul, and Balazovic to the Twins (if Funderburk was on the 40 man I would have picked him).
  20. St. Paul starts Sadzeck, an opener, and brings in Balazovic in the 2nd inning. Any theories on this? Mine is that the Twins want Balazovic to get his innings but they also want him to get familiar with coming in out of the bullpen, at least to start a new inning. That would be because they are considering bringing him up to the Twins (please let it be for Pagan). Total guess on my part.
  21. Not yet. Odd to start a reliever for 1 inning and then go to Balazovic. My thought - they want his 4 or so innings per game in St. Paul but want him to get used to coming out of the bullpen, because that is where the Twins are considering using him. If so, I think it's a good strategy.
  22. Yikes, probably wanted to see Lee play and all you got was a pinch hit walk.
