  1. Larnach is smoking AAA pitchers. Trouble is there is no room with the Twins now (hard to say that when we are hitting so poorly) as I think Gallo, Taylor, Kepler continue to play the OF. Another "when Buxton can play CF" a spot opens up but we seem to say that about too many players (Julien and sometimes Miranda if his D is going to be awful).
  2. Nice to see MacLeod back. Next, we need Prielipp back. Zebby Matthews continues to have a lot of good games.
  3. Gordon does his best in CF but he is below average out there. There's a reason Taylor plays so much right now. When Buxton can play CF and Lewis is on the team, Gordon's value decreases quite a bit.
  4. Was the defense as good as it sounded on the radio. Gallo in LF, Farmer at 3B, Kirilloff at 1B seems to be much better than Larnach in LF, Miranda at 3B and Gallo at 1B, not that all of these are bad in these positions.
  5. 1. Royce Lewis 2. Brooks Lee 3. Emma Rodriguez 4. Louis Varland 5. Marco Raya 6. Noah Miller 7. Edouard Julien 8. David Festa 9. Connor Prielipp 10. Yasser Mercedes 11. Simeon Woods-Richardson 12. Jose Rodriguez 13. Austin Martin 14. Brent Headrick 15. Alejandro Hidalgo 16. Blayne Enlow 17, Matt Canterino 18. Jaylen Nowlin 19. Ben Ross 20. Jose Salas
  6. Nice to see all of our prospects chipping in tonight. When they do well the teams do well, 4-0.
  7. Yes, With Buxton at DH, Polanco at 2B, and Kirilloff at 1B, he has no place to play. Julien does not replace Solano. Solano was supposed to face mostly lh pitching. Julien is going to face mostly rh pitching.
  8. I am no longer against a reset for Miranda in St. Paul. He was average defensively in the minors. He is not that high with the Twins. Losing the time in spring training with the shoulder problem may have been costly with him. But I thought those 3 homers would get him going hitting-wise but this past week his SO's seem to have increased and I have increasingly heard our radio announcers saying his swing didn't look good on that pitch or he took a pitch right down the middle. Maybe a reset would help when Farmer returns.
  9. Poor teams will do this with pitchers but very seldom hitters (Baddoo was an exception but has had mixed results as well). If Hidalgo gets a sniff of AA this year, he will be exactly where Tyler Wells was when Baltimore took him in the Rule 5 draft. IMO we will end up being much more sorry for not protecting Wells rather than Baddoo.
  10. Urshela has 1 HR and 12 RBI's. As the previous poster said, if we wanted better defense, Farmer is the one. Farmer at 3B, Buxton in CF and Miranda at DH would make us better.
  11. Buxton in CF would do it. Julien is not playing LF or 3B in St. Paul and I don't think he has played 1B. LF and 3B were tried in previous years and I believe the Twins decided his play there is unacceptable for the majors.
  12. Agreed. the legal baseline is not a line between 2nd and 3rd base. It is a line from where you are at when Miranda catches the ball from Correa. And you can still go three feet to the left or right of this line. Ramirez didn't go 3 feet to the right of that line. Rocco you have this one wrong.
  13. Great game by Enlow. I would think he moves up to AAA at mid-season. Then, the Twins get to decide whether to again add him to the 40 man roster at the end of the year. Nowlin would have fit in the movie Bull Durham. He's got nasty stuff but sometimes has no clue where the ball is going. Loved the comment, 'He had a season low two walks today....................oh, but he plunked three batters.' Yikes, who wants to set your feet in the batters box against him.
  14. Not exactly. The reason they traded him the time is coming to put him on the 40 man roster. That would be December 2023. It can be tough to take up a 40 man roster spot on a player who hasn't passed A ball.
  15. Anyone want to gamble on resigning Mahle to a Dobnak-ish contract? We won't get him that low but this will be lowest he'd cost in the past years. If the medical staff believes he can totally recover, I might take that gamble.
  16. The box score actually shows Rosario with 4 hits. Great night for him.
  17. Balozovic pitched well before apparently tiring. Funderburk has started with a couple good games with the Saints. If Hildalgo can only walk one in 5 innings, we really have something here (Gio who?).
  18. The Twins certainly treat him like 'organizational depth.' He's an older guy for Low A who is supposed to help out the young guys right now.
  19. Balazovic is starting on Wednesday. Here I thought they moved him to relief. Very interesting to see how he does. Imagine he doesn't go more than 4 innings as they stretch him out.
  20. Cavaco will be a whiff. It's easy to cherry pick someone who was drafted soon after him and, in hindsight, say the Twins should have known (if you posted pick Carroll instead of Cavaco at the time, you can post it all you want). I just don't agree with that. If the Twins hit on someone like Ober in the later rounds, it moves the whiff needle back to the middle IMO.
  21. Best news is that Prielipp will resume throwing. Fajardo looking like a good Rule 5 pick. Cavaco just gets worse. His hitting is going backwards. In one game I listened to briefly, he got a double play ball but his throw pegged the runner in the back. Everyone safe. Just a matter of time before we give up on him.
  22. Heard Cory Provus on the radio say that if Kirilloff spends less than 21 days in the minors, starting now after his rehab is over, he actually doesn't use up an option year. I hadn't heard that before. Not sure that makes a difference as once Kirilloff is up we should be expecting him to stay and hit well (and hope he doesn't get injured). If he doesn't, it would surprise me, but then you are at the point of not trusting he will ever make it.
  23. How many MLB teams have great bullpens if you don't count their top 4 pitchers?
