  1. Love the way he pitches. He needs a little more velocity as they hit him pretty hard in AA last year. His K/BB is so good because he walks practically nobody. Will need to up that rate to Matthews level. I don't think he will will make it past AAA. Hope I'm wrong.
  2. Wow, to think there was a debate this year whether or not he would get a $50 million contract.
  3. Wow, happy to hear this. I sure thought his plantar issues were chronic and he was going to be much like Buxton going forward. Correa's health is the key to answer the question of whether the Twins regret the signing. I'm surprised he didn't get the shoe thing figured out after the first bout of plantar.
  4. I still say we don't select anyone. It's not going to be Franklin or Smith (doesn't throw hard enough). Alfrod (or Alford??) would certainly fill a need and be worth a flyer, if the Twins have $50K to spare.
  5. Akil Baddoo is available if we want another ex-Twin minor leaguer. I don't want him, by the way.
  6. For $765 million, nothing deferred!
  7. Highly likely that the Twins don't take anyone. The couple guys the Twins may want will go before it gets to the Twins turn to pick.
  8. Sigh, we missed out on getting Jake Cave as he signed for $1 million in the KBO.
  9. We signed Alex Speas today.
  10. I'm surprised that Kyle Farmer got $4.5 million from the Rockies (including incentives).
  11. Topa signed, undisclosed amount.
  12. Tonkin stays healthy and is a rubber armed innings eater. I'm keeping him at this price. Also, since I believe the Twins are going to be very quiet on the transaction front this winter, I'm tendering all of these guys.
  13. I want the Twins to make them non-redundant. Either Wallner or Larnach has to be able to hit LH pitching. My problem is that the Twins don't play them enough against LH pitching to find out if they can. Then, when they face a LH pitcher for just a few AB's in a week, of course they fail.
  14. Indeed, Severino and Blewett resign with the Twins.
  15. I don't think the Twins are going to do much this offseason. The one trade I predict is Paddack for Jonatan Clase (not sure how the trade values work out, do we need to add a lower level prospect?). Clase provides speed and defense (hope he hits like he did in the minors). I have speed on our bench with Keirsey, Castro and Helmin. Castro will play a lot, giving other players a break. I put Brooks Lee at 3B as I think he is better defensively there. Lewis is moved to 2B. I sign Danny Coulumbe and pray that he stays healthy. Emmanuel Rodriguez is coming soon in 2025 but I suspect it will be for a Buxton injury. I don't really like the 1B situation (unless Miranda hits for more power) but don't have the money to add anyone. I do stay under the cap. C: Ryan Jeffers ($4.70M) 1B: Jose Miranda ($0.80M) 2B: Royce Lewis ($2.30M) 3B: Brooks Lee ($0.80M) SS: Carlos Correa ($36.00M) LF: Jonatan Clase ($0.80M) CF: Byron Buxton ($15.00M) RF: Matt Wallner ($0.80M) DH: Trevor Larnach ($2.10M) 4th OF: DaShawn Keirsey ($0.80M) Utility: Willi Castro ($6.20M) Utility: Michael Helmin ($0.80M) Backup C: Christian Vazquez ($10.00M) NA: Dead Money Here ($0.00M) SP1: Pablo Lopez ($21.50M) SP2: Joe Ryan ($3.80M) SP3: Bailey Ober ($4.30M) SP4: David Festa ($0.80M) SP5: Simeon Woods Richardson ($0.80M) RP: Jhoan Duran ($3.70M) RP: Brock Stewart ($0.80M) RP: Griffin Jax ($2.60M) RP: Jorge Alcala ($1.50M) RP: Cole Sands ($0.80M) RP: Justin Topa ($1.30M) RP: Louie Varland ($0.80M) RP: Danny Coulumbe ($3.00M) NA: Dead Money Here ($0.00M) Payroll is 2.46% under budget
  16. The Twins won't take anyone in the Rule 5 draft. Any pitcher we would want in the our bullpen for 2025 will be drafted prior to our turn.
  17. With Soto, I think Miami is okay with this trade. I like the idea of the trade for the Twins but just think the Twins are so conscious of money right now that they won't do it.
  18. A+ for defensive improvement and overall team speed increase. Very interesting trades. The one trade I don't see happening is the Alcantara trade. I think the Twins are going full Cleveland with the pitching pipeline now and won't invest almost $40 million on two starters now. Great job putting this together.
  19. My thoughts exactly. Age is the only thing that puts Gonzalez higher than Rosario (and I've also not high on him). Just never saw what others did to put him in the top 100 last year.
  20. Rosario is a terrible fielder and the Twins sure don't need more of those. To me, he is a great trade candidate for a team that salivates over his bat.
  21. Olivar won't be protected and won't be selected in the Rule 5 draft. No team is going to keep him on their major league club for all of 2025, not even the A's or White Sox.
  22. But you also listed Severino as a possible option. He was on the 40 man roster and STILL didn't get called up to the Twins. And Diego Castillo did get called up to take some AB's and play a little 3B when . So I would say the Twins have even less confidence in Severino than Miranda.
  23. Stewart, absolutely (such potential), and Topa, yes.
