Twins Calling up Top 100 Prospect Luke Keaschall
FlyingFinn replied to Jamie Cameron's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Very excited and very interested to see how much 2B he played. It was only this week that he played a full game there. Buxton being able to play CF instead of clogging up the DH spot sure helps. -
Twins Calling up Top 100 Prospect Luke Keaschall

Canterino DFA is my guess. -
Great call! I'm really surprised but excited he is being called up to the Twins.

Some of our top pitchers had an off night - Morris, Lewis, and Bengard. But the poor Bradenton team in low A got to face two AA pitchers and an MLBer. And they pitched like that.

It only cost some cash so why not have an emergency backup with Correa, Castro, and Miranda all hurt. When people are healthy, I suspect the Twins will DFA him as well.

Matthews and Adams in their piggyback couldn't be fun for the opposition. Surprised Emma Rodriguez wasn't pulled from the game when Wallner hurt his hammy. Normally that happens to the player being called up.

Mets (Megill) vs Twins (Ober): 4/15/25, 6:40pm

Yes, hamstring. Didn't look good. -
Mets (Megill) vs Twins (Ober): 4/15/25, 6:40pm

Hardly any position players left on the 40 man - Emmanuel Rodriguez and 2 catchers we really don't want to see right now. -
Is Carlos Correa’s Swing Broken?
FlyingFinn replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
No, but his wrist may be broken - as he leaves the game. -
So many great pitching performances by our top rated pitchers. Keep it up! Bummer for Martin getting injured. He was really having a good week. Schobel with a very nice week. Kendle, Amick and DeBarge with great weeks. Jeferson Morales - had a great spring but he had a tough week along with Rosario, Olivar and the Cardenas/Cossetti catching combo. So much hope for those two catchers last April and their bats have been dead since. Bummer!

Lots of good reports on starting pitchers and piggy back pitchers who are prospects - Hill, Doktorcyck, Bengard, Prielipp (apologies to Rozek, he pitched great but I just don't put him in this category). Preilipp's stats aren't great but it appears that was great for two plus innings. Just so positive to hear this news on him.

Tigers 4, Twins 0: Outplayed Every Which Way
FlyingFinn replied to Matthew Trueblood's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Keaschall is scheduled to be pulled early whenever he plays the field, for now. They are building him up to make sure he's healthy. I just don't think he gets the call before he's 100% ready in the field.- 112 replies

Kasper (or Gasper or Casper)? Whoever that guy is, like a ghost, I agree he should disappear.- 112 replies

Kudos to Severino and Amick and their hot hitting starts. While other hitters are having slow starts, they have done great. The Twins haven't shown any trust in Severino (in signing Ty France for 1B, about the only position he has a chance to play MLB at) and I was very surprised he resigned with the Twins.

The way Morris and Matthews are pitching, I sure wish one of them would get called up to replace Paddack in the rotation. On the down side, Jenkins injured again. How bad is it? With over half of the starting rotation injured as well, that's a rough looking roster in Wichita right now. Winokur and Doncon showed flashes of good baseball in spring training. Yikes, they are off to a tough start, both batting below .100 in the middle of the Cedar Rapids lineup.

He needs to be able to play in the field for 9 innings though on consecutive days. So far, he has mostly played DH or planned games where he plays 5 innings in the field. He won't be up until they are confident he's 100%.

The Twins baserunning is the worst in the league. They have Lugo on the ropes in the 4th inning. Larnach inexplicably rounds 2nd and gets out. If the throw went to home, he's still not going to 3rd with 2 outs. There is no reason for that to happen. Vazquez leads off 2nd with 2 outs and gets picked off. Why? Even he will score on most hits to the OF with 2 outs. These two weren't being aggressive. They were just bad running mistakes. The Twins are really slow but they can still be smart and slow.

Love to see so many good starts from our starting pitchers. Matthews and Questad get the headlines but Olivares and Bowen seemed almost as good. Severino in right field, woof. He's just a warm body at this point and so bad on D. As @tony&rodney said, just give his playing time to McCusker.

Lots of good starts for almost all of our high rated pitchers, including piggy back starters. Bullpens were terrible.
