  1. Don't trade Jax. I think he's the Twins closer next year as Duran gets expensive and traded sometime before next year.
  2. The Twins tanking probably would really help Sabato get a legitimate chance. They would probably call him up for the last month or two if he continued hitting like this, to see what he can do. Otherwise, if the Twins are in the race for the wild card, other than an injury to France, I don't see any way Sabato gets more than a McCusker like chance. And then, do the Twins really not sign anyone in the offseason and trust Sabato at 1B next year. I don't think so.
  3. K. Culpepper playing great D is the best thing I read today though the other Culpepper pitching great was 2nd.
  4. All great stories this year. I'm just biased towards guys with more speed now, after seeing how slow the Twins are. All three of these guys have to continue to hit great at every level as I don't think any of them play great defense.
  5. Many want to get rid of Clemens. That play on defense last night where he backs up 1st base and makes the play, that's the type of player I want on the team, showing hustle and effort. He can hit home runs, too. When everyone's healthy, he is at least a good bench player, higher quality than we currently have on the bench.
  6. Why? In a league that is a big hitters league, Eeles has the lowest OPS on the team (.561), almost 300 points behind Julien and even behind Miranda. He got started late this year. Let him earn a chance by having a great 2nd half of the year.
  7. Lack of hustle. Lack of effort. I don't care what the score is. If the ball gets past the catcher on the third strike, run to first base. That play by Lee signifies the Twins play in June.
  8. Not sure what people have against Clemens. He got the Twins the game winning hit (changed the momentum) to break the losing streak and was responsible for several key hits and defensive plays. Sure he had a slump in between but compared to others on the team, he's been a key player thus far. I like his hustle, his defense (playing multiple positions) and his clutch hitting.
  9. Buxton healthy and playing like this, missing so few games. I can't believe we are still only .500.

  11. Correa has got to drive in a run or two. He had guys in scoring position all game today and didn't hit well week. Seems to pull off the ball and the opposing pitchers know it.
  12. The Twins are probably lucky that Lewis didn't want a Buxton type of contract. I believe the Twins would have done it.
  13. No and yes, respectively. Winoker improving after a slow start is a very good sign. Very young yet. Rosario repeating AA, not good on D and I don't think he's a future major leaguer (surprising steals this year but that won't translate to MLB). He will top out at AAA. Winoker though, keep an eye on him.
  14. I really thought the Twins could have taken the lead after two innings. The first three hitters in each inning were absolutely great. They showed the next hitters what to do. They then did the opposite, swinging at mostly balls out of the strike zone (and even not swinging at some balls in the strike zone). Not sure it would have changed the game but we would have gotten to the bullpen very early if we were up 7-6 after two innings.
  15. Bring on the robo umps. I want the calls to be fair. None of this, he's a veteran so he gets the benefit and he's a rookie, so he doesn't. Get the calls right. We have the technology to do this efficiently.
  16. @Brock Beauchamp Could you add Noah Cardenas to the choices. Oh, and Aaron Sabato as well. He may sneak into the Twins top 20 for me (probably crash right after I pick him but he's having a good year). Thanks.
  17. Camargo is on the 40 man roster so obviously the Twins like him otherwise they would just have DFA'd him already in one of our earlier transactions. Need catchers who can actually play defense and with Cardenas resurgence, Cartaya hasn't looked good all year, including spring training. Right now, my order is Camargo, Cardenas and Diaw. I don't see the other names listed as being capable of being a major league catcher on defense.
  18. If you assume the Twins have an internal hard cap, France is performing great. He hits in clutch situations, doesn't strike out and plays good defense. We really aren't looking for someone who hits but not in the clutch, who strikes out a lot and doesn't play D well, right!?
  19. Interesting that two of these guys (Rozek and Sabato) are Rule 5 draft eligible. For now, I don't see the Twins adding either to the 40 man. Would someone take one?
  20. Is it just me or have we totally abandoned stealing bases after seeming to emphasize that a little more in April? I'm always wanting Buxton and Castro to steal. Really frustrating when the batter then hits into a DP.
  21. Martin Maldanado And in the "I didn't see that coming department", at least two people want Vazquez back next year for $5 million +. And that is two more than publicly wanted him earlier this season.
  22. Listened to the Mussels radio broadcast for a while. Hill was great. Announcer said he pitches with the smarts of a AAA or major league pitcher at such a young age. Jenkins got one hit. Houghton is the new Dalton Shuffield, filling a temporary hole wherever needed in the Twins minor league system. Not going to be in the majors ever and bounced from low A to AAA for the 2nd time (has never played high A or AA). Announcers were praising him as a great person with high baseball IQ. Said he believes, as do a number of other people, that he will be a future baseball coach.
