  1. I keep reading the comments that Diamond and Worley are out of options like we might lose them. I would think they could put them in the bullpen and send Pressley and Thielbar to the minors. Swarzek could pitch the 1-2 innings that these guys pitched and Diamond and Worley could be long relief and match-up guys.

    Arencibia?

I wouldn't sign Arencibia. Twins need a good defensive catcher. I am hoping for Suzuki.
  3. I am OK without getting Kazmir. I had not seen a prediction of more than 2 years because of durability questions. I am not sure Twins are contending in next two years. I think he is a better fit for Oakland than Nolasco would be. But for the Twins I like Nolasco. Only time will tell.
  4. Terry Ryan said it is doubtful that Sano is called up because he would have to be added to the 40 man roster. I think he will take the same path as Aaron Hicks. He will have a chance to earn a spot in spring training.
  5. I agree the twins should try and extend Pelfrey for two-three years. We need a couple of these type of signings. Pelfrey has stated a few times how much he enjoys the smaller media market as opposed to New York. Sign him up.
  6. From the looks of the expected return I would keep him. If he starts pitching like he has in the past he is better than anything we would receive. As far as his salary status I would worry about that at year end.
  7. I am hoping May replaces Gibson when he hits his inning limit
  8. If you are correct about the market and i think you are then it is an easy decision- keep him. We always look at the upside of prospects but not as much for struggling vets. Maybe he comes back- not looking likely but we do not need minimal salary relief or a marginal prospect for a homegrown former MVP. He may DH against right handers in the future and have to accept more of a Jim Thome role. We are getting younger and that looks like it will continue but you need some vetrans. I hope we keep Morneau or Willingham.
  9. Parmelee has a real opportunity here this year. I think he will take advantage. I am hoping for 20 HRS and .270 BA. Not sure how he will do defensively if he stays in RF. Sounds like they had him play mostly 1B in the minors. Must be a reason. Hopefully it was because he was such a good 1st baseman and he will be playable in RF. Looking forward to watching him getting regular AB's.

    Cold Predictions

I think you are missing one but I am not sure of his name. He is the 4th pick in the 2013 draft.
  11. I couldn't agree with you more. I think the twins are playing this market very well. The Dodgers signing of Ryu and the Royals trading for a pitcher rather than signing a free agent also helps. The Dodgers will now put two starters(Capuano, harang, maybe Lilly) on the market I think the next thing that would help is if the brewers sign Dempster(not marcum). The Angels, Red Sox, Rangers should grab Sanchez, Lohse maybe Edwin Jackson. That leaves the Twins with the money and rotation spots for the Marcum, Saunders, Myers level as you suggested. If you look at the number of starters available and how many teams are looking for free agent starters this market will not stay nearly as high as it has been. It will be Twins time right around Christmas.
