    Besides Berrios, Chargois, Polanco I would add Park to the list that I would like back in the majors. Why not have Mauer be a bench bat and pinch hit. Whether we lose 90 or 100 makes no difference. Vargas AND Park need major league at bats and both could out produce Mauer anyway.

    Why not pay whatever it takes to bring in Billy Beane? It would be less than the Twins will be paying Santana, Nolasco, Hughes and possibly Plouffe

    I think our outfield defense is much improved since the start of the year. "Trading" Arcia, moving Sano back to infield and using Buxton more than Santana has the outfield defense looking solid.

    I would like to see them trade Santana and eat some salary to increase the player/prospect return coming back. If Berrios takes the rotation spot your payroll does not increase.

    I think they may have kept Santana to try and trade Nunez. Escobar starting to hit again. Sano coming back. Santana just has a bigger role on the team. That said if not offered anything for Nunez. Santana could be next when Rosario, Sano are ready to return. He will go before Grossman.

    I won't miss Arcia. He was not going to be a part of the Twins going forward. The wild swings, piss poor at bats and poor defense. Does he have power? Yes. His ceiling is platoon DH. I think he heads to Oakland. These type of players are available every year at the end of free agency looking for jobs in the 3-5 million a year range. Think Chris Carter this year. His floor is what he has been doing the last two years.

    Duffey to the bullpen - I really think a two pitch pitcher has usually fared better in the bullpen. Move May back to the rotation. I hope they do not bring Nolasco back in capacity. They are stuck with Hughes because of the extension. I do not see where he can help. so I would add a starter and two relievers from free agency. Nobody long term. Rotation - Santana, Gibson, May, two of Berrios, Dean, Milone or whoever emerges Bullpen - Pressly, Tonkin, Duffey, Taylor Rogers- long relief, Abad or replacement if traded - Need two more bullpen guys one right and one left handed - They cost about 6 million a year for anyone you would want. They won't do it. We already suck for next year.

    I think Mastroanni makes sense only from the standpoint that they don't play him unless someone is hurt or needs a day off. Give Arcia, Sano, Santana a chance to play everyday. Arcia needs to face left handers even though he can't hit them. This outfield will be the league 's worst defensively but Buxton, Rosario, Kepler are not ready yet. If they drop Mastroanni as soon as one of these three are ready to be called up again then I think it makes sense.

    He had three hits to right field. Had to be a career high. This would be a great adjustment for him. They keep pitching him outside with the second baseman playing behind second base. Looks easy from my couch.

    I think John Ryan Murphy may be a bust. He has not looked good this spring. Hopefully I am wrong.

    I think that depth is often overlooked but it is what you need to have a good season. You need a solid 40 man roster. Not just 25

    Thanks for the analysis. His curve and his change up looked like his two best pitches in his last start.

    Sweeney and Quentin are playing well . Did not think either of them had a chance to make the roster until I came to Fort Myers. Yesterday Quentin stayed on the practice field with Bruno working on staying thru the ball. He absolutely crushed his home run today. One of the longest balls I have ever seen hit. He also had a double off a nice swing. Sweeney has looked good all week. This could get very interesting if it continues this way for a couple more weeks. Tonkin has not looked good to me. A lot of good swings at his fastball. Has the velocity but not enough movement. Berrios was outstanding today. The one hit he gave up today was an infield hit that most likely would have been an out if Escobar was still in the game.

    I hate to rain on the Nolasco looked good train but I think he did OK but wouldn't say that good.First inning gives up a base hit and next hitter lined the ball so hard at Dozier that the runner was doubled off first. Umpire had a big strike zone which helped both sides pitchers. The second or third inning whichever the inning was that he gave up the double to Diaz, there were three very well stroked foul balls. I thought he had one good inning. Other two he looked pretty hitable. If it were a regular season game and he was going through that lineup another time or two he would have given up runs.

    I do like this team, It should improve as the season progresses, Kepler, Berrios should help at some point.Bullpen should sort itself out. Sano will learn to play outfield or he won't stay out there. Park and Buxton may start slow but should progress. Polanco may make enough progress to force a trade. This would not be the first team to arrive a bit ahead of schedule. The potential is here for the first time in the last four years. Think 1987

    One of the questions I see is about Park's ability to handle the higher velocity in the majors. Triple AAA 's velocity is a step up from Korean league. Why not have him prove he can handle that first before starting in the majors.

    I remember reading that Suzuki wears down and that was a big problem before he came to Minnesota. Last year even when he was not playing well it would have been hard to play any of the back ups. They were so bad. But should Murphy be able to start say 40% of the time it may keep Suzuki fresher and playing better. I think it is possible that Suzuki is the starter this year and the catching position is improved. That being said I do feel like a lot of the previous posters that Murphy will take over at some point this year.

    I would think that the prices on these signings would have to be low. It would be a good time to be aggressive. I really like the Holland idea. He probably would not help until next year but would probably require a small guarantee for this year.

    I don't think it is a maybe not. I wonder how likely it is that he even tries for another contract. I wouldn't be shocked to see him play out his next three years then go raise his kids. Why wait for the next concussion?

    How much would you expect Clippard to cost? I would think he would be the only free agent worth looking in to. Otherwise may have to trade. I agree with you on aiming higher or just going in house. Glad they moved on from Boyer and Duensing.
