  1. I have never been an Eades fan. Seen him pitch three times. My guy that I would have higher is Vielma. Good fielding true shortstops are valuable. Thanks for the list. Enjoyed going past the top 10 or so. Don't hear as much about the others and there is a lot of talent in the second 25.
  2. Even if Santana is moved back to shorstop it is good that he has played CF. When Sano comes up I would like to see Plouffe and Arcia platoon in one of the corner OF spots. Arcia can't hit lefties and Plouffe hits them well. Use Escobar at utility he can back up 2b,SS and 3B. Santana plays short and eliminates the need for the 4th outfielder to have to be able to play CF. Santana could be the back up CF and Escobar play SS when needed.
  3. Is he good defensively? Adding another fly ball pitcher one good defensive outfielder would help. Speed to pinch run for Willingham late in games. Could be useful.
  4. I really like the way he has forced Gardy to keep him in the lineup. I get tired of hearing we have to play Parmelee,Arcia, Colabello etc when they do not produce enough to earn the time that they receive. Santana has really quick hands and with that short stride he looks to me like he will be able to make adjustments when he needs to. The issue is where does he fit in defensively but they have to find a spot.
  5. I don't think this happened too soon. Trade deadline is next week and I am not sure Morales makes it through August trade waivers. Willingham would. This is a move that needed to be made. Saved 4 million and picked up the guy that Seattle was probably going to have to remove from their 40 man to create an opening. I feel the Morales at bats will be used to decide who may be able to help the twins in the future. Too soon? I wish it happened last week.
  6. If the Twins were contending I think you would be right. They would just cut him. But in the situation they are in I think they should hang on another month trying to trade him. What's another loss or two.
  7. Twins may play better if they go younger. Veteran players not too excited about games that may be the difference in losing 85 or 95 games. They bring up May, Meyer, Pinto, Vargas, Polanco,Rosario they will be excited and motivated.
  8. I think Plouffe and possibly Parmelee will still be with the team in 2016. Arcia is not a good outfielder. I think Plouffe starts in the outfield and is 3B backup. Also think opening day 2016 too early for Polanco. I project Escobar still at SS and Berrios comes up after super 2 date in 2016. Not opening day. Looks like a much more enjoyable team to watch than this version.
  9. No Buxton in Fort Myers box score. Is his wrist OK? Read where he was hit by a pitch but finished the game.
  10. I wouldn't assume that Fuld is gone. Why wouldn't he be a good 4th outfielder? Jay would be a great fit. May have to send more than Suzuki to get him. LaRussa speaks highly of John Jay as far as playing the game properly.
  11. The Sam Deduno of the hitters. Very divided opinions. I'm rooting for him. It is not only chicks that dig the long ball. Walker fits in well with today's hitters. Lower batting average with power. Seems like a good fit for Toronto.
  12. I think a free agent addition would make sense. They were still offering Garza after they signed Nolasco and Hughes so they have the money. The rotation of Hughes, Gibson, Nolasco (if healthy) May and Meyer with Pelfrey in the bullpen sounds OK. But that is relying on two 1st year pitchers and two injured pitchers. Berrios will not be ready so adding a free agent will be important IMHO.
  13. I hope you are right but what I really want to know is where I can get some of what you are smoking?
  14. I think Ryan is rebuilding. He has traded starting major league outfielders for minor league pitching. I just think they are trying to get by signing cheaper veteran players until they feel that the minor league talent is ready. Twins are much closer to being good again than 2-3 years ago. I too wish they would just go with the younger players. I am hoping they will by August.
  15. Is Berrios on an innings limit? Seems like he wore down last year and his second half was not as good.
  16. Very interesting. Thanks for the post. It is high stakes lottery.
  17. I remember him as stringer bell described. They didn't like the runners trying to take him out at second base. They use to go in a lot harder than they do now. Carew quit stealing home after Killebrew missed the sign and swung at the pitch.
  18. Morales missed spring training. Hard to jump in at mid season
  19. I vote for Redmond. He does very well with young players. His young pitchers seem to do well. Uses his roster well. He is young enough for the rebuild and a long run of success.
  20. Floriman is also a drag on Escobar batting 8th. It is the same effect as hitting in front of the pitcher. What are they afraid of with Polanco? He might make an error or have a bad AB against Darvish. Florimon has both already by the 3rd inning. I think you do have to DFA him because gardy keeps starting him. It would make sense to start Polanco and put Florimon in for defense if the twins are ahead late in a game but Gardy won't do it.
  21. Thanks - comments were very interesting
  22. I was wondering how much a prospect costs. Is the annual cost any consideration when considering signing the international prospects?
  23. The additional 375,000 is the 5% of their total bonus pool that they can spend without losing next years 1st round pick?
  24. Seth - couple small things- either the date is wrong as saturday the 22nd- If not I am heading to vegas with tomorrow's results. I think you have the game one Rochester score backwards. Thanks for these reports it is the one thing I read every day. Fixed--ed.
  25. I think this is a great topic. Thanks for the post. Really think he is tough to project. But Santana is a joy to watch run. That should keep his on base percentage decent. He appears to be a good bunter. I am rooting for your math. I think those would be outstanding numbers for his rookie year.
