I know this is nitpicking the shellacking, but I feel like the ump did a lousy job. Seemed like he gave Carrasco several extra strikes (Kepler should have had a 3-1 count in the second instead of 2-2, Polanco should have had a walk), while Turley was given no calls at all. When Turley couldn't find the handle on his curveball (Kipnis leaned into the 0-2 curveball in the first), he came out throwing nothing but fastballs in the second and the Indians were very aware that that was what was coming. His fastball has very little movement. Edit: I looked up the game log on Brooks. Carrasco had 6 balls out of the strike zone called strikes, and zero balls in the strike zone called balls. Turley had 5 balls out of the strike zone called strikes, and 4 balls in the strike zone called balls. That's 5% of Carrasco's pitches called wrong, and that's 12% of Turley's pitches called wrong.
