The Twins went 1-5 in California over the last six days, in the process losing five games in the standings to the Guardians and four games in the standings to the White Sox. Since last Thursday, Jenkins has gone 11 for 23 with 5 homers, six walks and four Ks in 29 plate appearances.
I don’t know if Jenkins would have been the difference in any of those games, but it would have been fun and compelling. Instead, the Twins played it conservative, and now any chance of the postseason is nearly gone.
