  1. Love how he doesn’t walk anyone and Zebby is a very cool name. I will be excited to watch. However nobody should be surprised if things don’t go well. He’s essentially skipping AAA and in all my years watching the Twins I can only recall Radke Viola and Blyleven going from AA to the majors. If I recall correctly Bert was great Radke so- so and Viola got pounded.
  2. What this article tells me is the Twins need better production from the corner outfielders. Hopefully Wallner is one answer but the Twins likely need one or two outfielders next year who aren’t in their system.
  3. Plus Stewart is not under contract for next year and they would be crazy to sign him to any significant deal so we are back to making a silk purse out of a sows ear where the bullpen is concerned.
  4. I’m concerned about Royce’s throwing. He’s not very accurate or consistent and the last couple games have been worse. I’m starting to think he is a second baseman or a left fielder.
  5. I’m 63 so I’m guessing 50/50 chance.
  6. Valid point especially in todays game where batting averages are 240.
  7. I hope I live long enough to see the Twin get a hit with RISP.
  8. Thanks for these articles. Always interesting and great to be able to understand what’s happening.
  9. I don’t really look at trades as a win or a loss. My criteria is did you get good value? It doesn’t matter that Polo has been bad this year. He was a valuable asset at the time of the trade and the Twins failed miserably to maximize that value. The trade was about dumping salary - Falvey had to trade him and that’s the worst spot to negotiate from.
  10. Hat tip to Winder. I’ve never been a fan but if he can pitch like he did last night we might have something. He hit 97 and his change up was good.
  11. Attaberry might be the worst play by play guy I’ve ever heard. He just rambles and some of the stuff he talks about is nonsensical.
  12. Geez, this isn’t football. There are seven weeks left in the season. I hope the Twins win today but there is a long ways to go.
  13. Audra Martin posted on X that Brock Stewart is having surgery on his shoulder and will miss the rest of the season. What started as a feel good story is coming to an unfortunate conclusion.
  14. I love Twins Daily but instead of trotting out the nth version of some story on the front page why not do a story on a kid like Tanner Hall. Where is he from? How old? What is his pitch mix? Does he have a prominent strength or a glaring weakness? Seems like a missed opportunity for TD writers looking for content.
  15. If Bally offers $25 more the Twins will fall all over themselves to sign up.
  16. If Bally offers $25 more the Twins will fall all over themselves to sign up.
  17. I don’t know about an extension but what I do know is the Twins have nobody that can replace his versatility. Names like Martin Keascall have been thrown out there. They have zero chance of replacing Castros value. They can’t even play one position much less five. An extension is a tough decision but let’s not pretend that Castro can be easily replaced. He may not be able to be replaced at all.
  18. Good question. I’m not complaining because the minor league reports are great but a deeper dive on the higher profile prospects would be great.
  19. For sure Falvey could have done things differently but his parameters were dictated by payroll cuts. Our surplus was at second base - I wanted to trade Julien and a prospect to get one of Seattles starters. They had to trade Polanco to save the money and they screw that up. I’m not absolving Falvey of anything but the payroll cuts have been a huge factor in everything the Twins have done or not done since last season.
  20. They were forced to trade Polanco to free up payroll. As we learned that trade chip wasn’t going to bring in a good starter so we got DeScalfini. They were never going to sign a free agent starter.
  21. I’m glad Randy got some of the Pohlads money as he seems like a great guy. He is not the answer to any of the Twins pitching questions however.
  22. Me. When they screwed up the off season I posted (and have posted many times since) they were one starter injury from a big problem. Frankly it’s amazing they have made it as long as they have without an injury to their best starters. I know people are sick of rehashing this but this is on ownership.
  23. As I’ve posted several times before the Twins set themselves up to be one injury to the top three starters away from a big problem. If Ryan is out for a substantial period of time they are done.
