  1. Yep. My mother always told me to play nice or soon you won’t have anyone to play with.
  2. A 24 year old. Not sure I can recall a guy that age getting drafted.
  3. Fun to see. Two hurdles to go.
  4. This will likely end up being the key factor. We can speculate on stats etc but if key guys go down on one club it would likely be the decider.
  5. My guess is that lower attendance is caused by a number of factors: Younger people are not as interested in baseball anymore. Bad access to watch games for a number of years has reduced interest for a lot of fans. The Twins have developed a reputation as an org that is going to put money first. They pumped up that reputation big time with payroll slashing and right sizing. There are real nuances to this discussion but most fans don’t care about that. I don’t do the cheap Pohlads thing but the perception by a lot of fans is pretty negative towards the money issue. Many people, especially in out state MN, have the perception that Minneapolis is still not safe. Statistics say otherwise but perception is reality for the people choosing to buy or not buy tickets. It’s a complicated problem. And I’m not sure the Twins are up to the task of dealing with it.
  6. This is a plausible scenario for sure. But there are other plausible scenarios that are a problem like the Twins entering one of their bad streaks and dropping to 7or 8 back with fewer games to go or one of the top three in the rotation getting hurt. It’s gonna be fun.
  7. Typical Twins pick. Best of luck to the kid. I really wanted a college pitcher but the Twins don’t invest high picks or money on pitching.
  8. Wow. Buck catches that ball without leaving his feet. And Brooks makes his first bonehead play. The Twins can play some really sloppy baseball at times.
  9. Don’t like to be negative Nellie but if Santana catches the throw and Margot doesn’t fall down we are leading. Two simple plays.
  10. Man if he was at third with only one out……
  11. I think we may end up regretting Santanas early error.
  12. Veritable murderers row coming for the top of the ninth.
  13. Honorable mention to Cesar Tovar and Carew.
  14. My top five Harmon Tony Kirby Johan Santana Hrbek
  15. This is what I was wondering as well. Traditional thinking is second would be more difficult and important. However with shifts the third baseman assumes a short stop like position for most lefties. Lee appears to be the better fielder with softer hands and a stronger arm than Royce. He also seems to have the instincts good fielders have. Im not worried about Royce turning the double play - the takeout slide isn’t a thing anymore.
  16. SWR has had several games like this where there is traffic on the bases but he makes pitches to get out of it. His line ends up being 5 or 6 innings pitched with 2 or 3 runs allowed. Maybe he’s lucky or maybe he’s a gamer. At this point Lee appears to be a better fielder than Royce. Nice glove and a strong arm - seems to have the instincts that good fielders have. In todays world of analytics and shifting I don’t know if second or third is the more important defensive position but whatever it is that’s where he should play.
  17. Yea he’s guessing fastball so no chance on any other offering.
  18. SWR deserved better. He really competes out there.
  19. Eddy - start breaking in that first base mitt.
