    Plus I believe there are 6-8 other teams that have the same amount as the Twins to offer. Sounds like a long shot but agree the call should be made.

    Thanks for the article. I agree with big dog - neither Rosario or Jones were as good as Hisle. The Twins were amazing in the 70s with the bats. Bostock was a pure joy to watch play.

    Getting to the show is really hard. I believe the number is 5-7% of all guys who play pro ball make the bigs. And they get weeded out at every level so good numbers at AAA doesn’t mean that much. I always push back against the idea of a “logjam”. Never happens because the can’t miss guys miss all the time. We are hearing it now with our starting pitching depth. I’m not trading anybody until Festa SWR Mathews et al prove they are major league starters.

    In my opinion you can easily project a reasonable path for the Twins to win 86-90 games next year. Problematically you can just as easily and reasonably project a 75-79 win season. Their starting pitching should be good and that is always the most important place to start. There is potential in the lineup for the younger guys to take another step forward……or fizzle out. Health will be a big factor for sure. 2025 is going to make or break a bunch of peoples careers.

    This sums up my thoughts nicely. A rebuild isn’t truly possible with Correa and Buxton on the books.

    This is correct. Last year we had a surplus at second base really the only surplus in the org. Falvey blew that surplus so now we have none unless we are willing to part with top prospects.

    Which means he wasn’t one of the better relievers in baseball. And he is certainly not a mainstay. I certainly want him back. I just want to read articles sans hyperbole.

    “One of the better relievers in all of baseball” I’ll be damned - here I was watching one of the better relievers in all of baseball and a “mainstay in the pen” and didn’t even know it.

    Which would be great if he was a plus fielder somewhere and could run.

    I think you are overestimating Kiriloff importance to their first base plans. I mean there had been a reasonable case for non tendering him. Here is a better way to look at this: the Twins need to change this lineup. There are three places this can realistically happen. 1b LF and 2b. I doubt they do anything at second because they do have some options. That leaves 1b and LF. Go out and make two trades that bring in difference makers. Guys that field but can rake and don’t have to be platooned.

    It’s one of the problems when you really can’t play a position. Then you have to be a really good hitter to either play 1b or DH or you end up being José Miranda or Ed Julien.

    Respectfully, I don’t see any chance of the Marlins trading Luzardo for Vasquez.

    Let the guy prove himself at AAA first. If he is hitting there he will certainly get a chance with the Twins due to injury. He has the potential to be a difference maker for the Twins because he would inject some speed and plus defense which they badly need. However the hitting profile has me a bit nervous. Uber patient with a lot of swing and miss. Does that remind you of anyone?

    Good example of little things that make a big difference in the middle infield. High feed forces the SS to catch the ball and bring back to his throwing hand. Freeman would have been out. With a normal feed.

    That’s referred to as a Martin as in Austin Martin. Did it at least twice last season.

    I would tender him. I’m not over the moon about his chances but it’s like making a small call in poker so you can see the flop. I believe he has one option remaining so you don’t have to put him on the team right away. This gives a chance to catch lightning in a bottle.

    I like that he throws all of his pitches with conviction. Certainly he will continue to improve as he gets more comfortable in the big leagues. What I am concerned about is the league just started to see him. If they stop chasing outside the zone things could get ugly.

    Never heard Herbies glove described as a liability. You may want to re-consider that observation. And like above Knoblauchs rookie season was pretty amazing

    I have no heartburn about his contract. It’s not much in MLB terms and was done in good faith. He got hurt - it happens. Considering the guys that they have run through the back of the pen it’s not out of the question we see him again. Anyway good for him - I hope he put a couple million in the stock market when he got paid. He will be just fine.
