  1. Really pleased with Castro Buck and Correa. Miranda bouncing back is an important development. Not surprised to see Wallner and Julien struggle. And Kepler is back to being Kepler. At least the off season decision on him will be easy. It was pretty obvious they needed to add a starter in the off season but ownership decided that one. And a big shout out to SWR. We would be in a world of hurt had he not stepped up.
  2. As I’ve stated before the Twins play sloppy baseball with regularity. Sometimes it doesn’t cost them, last night it sure did.
  3. My cartoon bubble show RB with shades pulled, doors locked, not answering the door and peaking out the window between innings looking for the van with the weird antenna on the top.
  4. I love Royce - I think he is the real deal. Would I extend him? No chance. Go year to year with him extend the qualifying offer and watch him walk away. We will grieve, take the comp pick and be thankful for the years we had and for the contract we don’t have until age 35. This is doubly true if “rightsizing” is our new payroll normal.
  5. Regarding Festa there is a lot to like but also some red flags. He has three good pitches when they are located properly. He seems comfortable throwing any of the three at anytime which makes it tough on hitters. The red flags are that his command really went away as the game moved on and we saw what mlb hitters will do with pitches not located. He has good velo on the fastball but it is straight as a string meaning it has to be well located or it’s gonna get pounded in the bigs. I know he has improved his command significantly in the last year but I’m not sure he is there yet. Maybe it was first start jitters so we will see.
  6. So Buck is hot goes 3-3 with a monster home run and gets hit on the first pitch after the homer and we are sure it’s unintentional?
  7. Doesn’t look good. Went immediately to the dugout. Looks like a possible broken wrist.
  8. Now Carroll and Perdomo need to get drilled.
  9. Yep. Corbin Carroll should get one in the ribs.
  10. Yea. With Bucks day today that may have been a purpose pitch. I would drill one of their guys next inning.
  11. Festa lost a little command that inning. More hittable pitches in the zone. Of course he should have been sitting in the dugout.
  12. Yea Margot can wear this inning. I’ve seen him make several poor plays in RF for a guy that is supposed to be a good fielder.
  13. Few things more enjoyable than watching Buck run.
  14. As long as the strike zone stays the same for Festa I’m good with it.
  15. Not sure. Plenty of great pitchers have thrown that way. Tends to hide the ball from the hitter.
  16. Festa is a bit of a short armer. First time I’ve seen him pitch. I can see why he has had success as he has three legit pitches.
  17. This was a good outing by SWR in that he was struggling with command but managed to make enough pitches to get some outs. Many times pitchers in the same situation get blown up.
  18. Excellent article! A bunch of good info. Hopefully he can have good command in the bigs. I believe that will be the key.
  19. I’m doing this from memory so…..but if I recall the Twins have gained zero ground on Cleveland during the Twins hot streak and have now dropped back even further. Nothing is impossible but as the games click by without the Twins gaining ground makes the math really hard for winning the Central.
  20. On a more serious note. Wouldn’t the Twins want him to play more than two games at 2b before calling him up to play that position in the bigs?
