  1. A thousand times this. Part of it is the player type they pursue - Gonzalez is a perfect example. Definitely part of it is player development and it’s not a new thing. It’s been one of the strongest characteristics of the Falvey era - it has to be noticed doesn’t it?
  2. Omg - Gonzalez is lost out there. No jump or instincts but at least he is slow.
  3. Yea not a great look so far. Less than impressed with Cartaya. G Gonzalez had no idea on that double - he is really slow.
  4. Very encouraging. Hope they don’t give up on him as a starter of some sort.
  5. No chance - the skills just aren’t there. I do think Larnach / Buxton / Wallner could be average. Bader will help but no way do I want him hitting against righties just for his glove.
  6. I largely agree with the premise of the article. I would say this applies to Julien, Larnach, Martin, Lewis and Wallner to varying degrees. 2025 is going to be a pivotal year for all of these guys.
  7. While we all would like to be faster rather than slower I think route running is just as important. There are fast outfielders that take poor routes thereby negating their speed and vice versa. This is the area Wallner needs to improve the most.
  8. It doesn’t appear that he has amazing stuff but was very impressed with his control / command. Used all his pitches and put them where he wanted to. Looks to me like a solid back of the rotation guy and there ain’t nothing wrong with that.
  9. It will be very interesting to see what spot on the field he ends up. He’s a bit of a unicorn for his size.
  10. Morris looked very good against some good hitters. His command inspires confidence - Festa has better stuff but I just don’t think his command is as good.
  11. He has a nice compact swing. I wish we could see him catch a little - if he was adequate back there he could be a unique Swiss Army knife. Would allow Vasquez to get pinch hit for easily.
  12. It was a really strong throw. Looks like he has a gun.
  13. I’m not one obsessed by handedness. I want good hitters that don’t have huge splits. I’m hopeful Keaschall could be that.
  14. Actually you made it about right handed hitters which Keaschall is one and in(hopefully) need of a place to play. You can play him at second or first and guess what - he will still be hitting right handed. Since the Twins are committed to having a Bader, Margot et al on their roster, I would prefer Keaschall to them.
  15. As opposed to a right handed hitting second baseman? Or are you trading him for a left handed hitter?
  16. I hope that Keaschall gets a bunch of reps in left field in AAA. He might be the right handed hitting outfielder we’ve been waiting for.
  17. At this point I would say no because the salary savings won’t be reinvested. 6 weeks ago? Yes in a minute.
  18. I’m confused. They tried to option Kiriloff and he forced them to put him on the IL.
  19. I think he looks better at the place this spring for whatever that is worth. Unfortunately he is pretty much a DH if you care at all about defense.
  20. There are others more knowledgeable about the rules but I believe you cannot dfa a player while injured. Also, since he was on the 40 man and had not been sent to minors yet I believe he will be on the mlb IL meaning he will be able to collect a nice check for a while. Eventually he will have to face the pitch or be released problem.
  21. Seems like shoulder injuries are often the final blow for pitchers, especially older pitchers. Doesn’t bode well for for Tonkin or Topa.
