  1. He’s 29 with a minor league line of .243/.341/.397. He’s hitting .203 in AAA this season. He could do for us what he’s doing for Houston. Holding a spot at AAA only to be released. That’s the best you could come up with? We got detroits number 14 prospect for 2 months of Paddack!?!?! What else was out there? Are we being serious here?
  2. This move made sense. Especially when Paddack will be a FA. If you need a MLB caliber arm just to fill in every 5 days you make this move 10/10 times no matter who you’re trading with. All it signals is the twins are done trying the rest of this season. Which is what we’ve all seen the last month and a half anyways. They just don’t have the guys to compete for a playoff spot.
  3. I honestly thought it would be a salary dump anyways. I was truly surprised we got as good of a prospect as we got for not only him but dobnak as well. A number 14 or whatever in the tigers system is probably the best on the table. I mean really what were you expecting???
  4. Exactly, they don’t include any “top” prospects in any of these except harry ford. They’re all the 2nd tier.
  5. He’s a stellar defensive catcher. Sounds more like a way to get his bat up more than anything.
  6. They would be good trades if he just stopped adding all three to every trade. For Duran and Castro… maybe. Probably a lower level lotto ticket or two away but for all three. He’s close just not close enough for a team that really doesn’t have to trade any of them. The Joe Ryan trade is absurd though for sure.
  7. No need to offer prospects. Emma does not need to be in that deal. In fact for Duran and Castro the Twins should realistically be asking for Walcott, one of Winston Santos or Kohl Drake and then probably someone like Marc Church or Skylar Hales. Walcott is the near MLB ready prize. Santos or Drake is the near ready plug into the rotation option and then church or Hales is the plug straight into the bullpen options for next year. No need to involve prospects on the Twins side.
  8. I got ya. Well, if it’s any consolation Jenkins is holding his own as a 20yo at AA and Culpepper is demolishing AA as a 22yo that looks to be able to stick at SS. That’s a positive for sure!
  9. Player coaches might be a better way to go. If they teach themselves they might not develop the bad habits the coaches seem to instill.
  10. Possibly, he makes sense there but the Twins are convinced he’s a RFer. He’s soon to be 28 and has been playing the OF his whole life. I’m wondering when this breakthrough is gonna come. Hitting wise and D wise. Maybe when he turns 30. Who knows.
  11. They’re not bringing up Jenkins or E-rod. A full rebuild consists of getting rid of everyone and looking to compete in 3-5 years. The timeline might dictate competitiveness is 3-5 years but Falvey doesn’t have that much time. They’re gonna want lower upside closer to the majors guys in order to field a competitive team next year if they go sell mode this week through next.
  12. Yeah, Jenkins needs a place to play next year. If Wallner apart of the plans then move him to first base. He’s got a great arm yes. But his routes are terrible and he constantly gets bad jumps on balls and he doesn’t look as bad because he’s got the best CFer in the game next to him. I’m sick of hearing how good the metrics and the numbers say how good he “should” be. To me he looks lost half the time and puts in numerous uncompetitive AB’s a game just to hit a 425ft solo HR every 8-10 games. Larnach adjusts faster in game and can put a competitive AB together. That’s more telling to me than Wallners AB’s. By the way…. These 2 net you zero.
  13. Can we move on from encarnacion-strand? He’s batting .208 with a -.7 WAR. This system can’t develop hitters. As far as Larnach he’s a topper of a bigger trade. Not a centerpiece. Unless you want a 45 rated lotto ticket in A ball in return I suggest we keep him for now. He’s part of a package. Not “the” package.
  14. I just don’t see Rushing as a catcher. Sorry. In which case I would rather have a true hitter that is much better than a guy who is a catcher by name only. Trading for Rushing doesn’t solve the catcher problem. It just leaves the Twins without a true solid catcher if Jeffers is traded or after next year when he becomes a free agent. Same with Ballesteros from the cubs. Can they play catcher? Yes. Do you want them handling a staff? Blocking balls? Framing pitches? Absolutely not. I would rather have a Christian Vazquez behind the plate than a Henry Davis. There’s a reason Martin Maldonado made a career in Houston even though he couldn’t hit a lick. D over O at catcher 10 times out of 10.
  15. I’d stick Caissie at 1B and just run with it. As late by as he hits .250 with 15-20 bombs that’s better than the last 3 1Bman we’ve trotted out in recent years. Agreed if Ballesteros’ bat is for real then you find a spot. I just don’t think he solves the catcher dilemma that will be.
  16. And Ballesteros isn’t even a good catching prospect. He’s probably a DH in 3 years. No thanks
  17. I want all 4! For Ryan?!?! Just Ballesteros and Wiggins get an immediate hang up if that’s all they’re offering. I’d rather have Cassie and Alcantara over what is proposed here though. Where does Ballesteros play if you just want his bat?
  18. Yeah, doesn’t make any sense. I’ll take Caissie and Alcantara over both. Ballesteros won’t be a catcher long term and Wiggins will be a BP arm at best. Hurts the franchise. Doesn’t change it other than another trade that went wrong for a SP.
  19. I think it’s in the neighborhood for sure! I’ve been high on Quero since this last winter. A stud! Seen him play in Nashville a few times. Very solid defense.
  20. Hindsight’s always 20/20 and nothing is guaranteed. If you want more than that then let’s put on our imagination caps and ask for 100 top 100’s. Would that be enough?
  21. They probably don’t get multiples this time next year. Look at the Soto trade.
  22. Eh, Painter is coming back from an injury and struggling at AAA. He’s a good prospect but a 1-B for me.
