  1. Galvis at SS? A massive hole in the defense.
  2. Strength-depth? A lot of rookies showing they belong in AAA or even AA.
  3. How many players would not have missed a lot of game taking a pitch on the hand?
  4. Willians is not an outfielder and Jake is not an infielder, at that neither numbers fielding are great though Willians did fine as a catcher and first baseman.
  5. Oh really, they played a similar number of games and even with Willians drop at the end of the year, his number are far better than Jake.
  6. You mean strike-outs by committee.
  7. Jeffers is NOT a good catcher, average on his best day.
  8. A LOT of players do not do well after a not wanted trade; heck the Twins have gotten a lot of them.
  9. Yep, .200 hitters on a good day, just what the Twins do not need.
  10. They cannot afford a SS with better fielding ability than Simmons and there are few, very few; if they lost Buxton and go a lousy SS with a good bat, they would be cutting off their nose to spite their face, who is as good a fielder as Buxton that can hit like him.
  11. Yep, trade Buxton for a crap shoot; ah, the Twins return to the mediocre or worse 70's, brilliant.
  12. If they dump Buxton, they darn well better sign Cruz as they will need his bat to the extreme.
  13. That is your opinion, or a matter of -- hmm analytics, I will use the ones that fit an opinion.em Beyond SS, which any one the Twins can afford will be a drop defensively from Simmons; they need a Left Fielder badly that has quick agile feet and a strong accurate arm. There is no one in the system that fits that bill, they need a quality veteran.
  14. Baseball Ref. stats do not show Simmons to be bad a SS, but they do show the only place Arraez had good number was at 2nd Base, not 3rd base.
  15. OK, he is a lousy catcher, trade him, put Rortvedt in, his defense looks to be as good as Mauer.
  16. Liking him means squat: 2021 Rtot -1 Rtot/yr -2 Rf/9 8.80 -- Rf/G 7.81 ---- League Rf/9 9.35 League Rf/G 9.13 Close is good enough, LOL, Defense is sub-par.
  17. Jeffer's hitting is what it is; his defense needs LOTS of work, trade him.
  18. He is not good against lefties, and is not a good fielder; trade him if any one wants him.
  19. I don't know how many of you are old enough to remember the Twins from the there first year, but after the sixties they became MEH at best with exceptions of being good or just plain losers. Since 1970 they have only won at least 90 games 9 times, winning a World Series during one of their MEH years. They lost 90 games in 1961 and turned it around; it was 21 years before they lost 90 or more games again( ignoring the short 1981 season ) ; starting in 1982 they lost 90 or more games 13 times, they have been on the whole a lot worse than mediocre way too often.
  20. Good Grief. Arraez is a lousy infielder and you want him in the outfield, you want Larnach who is slow and has a weak arm in right field, again, good grief. Celestino has fielding agility and speed but has to learn how to hit, and waiting for rookies who can just as easily be as poor in the out-field as Larnach and Rooker, is illogical. Unless you get a snag of pitchers with a sub 2.00 era, with some of the fielding set-ups you get listed here unless the Twins score like they did in 2019, no matter how good the pitching is they will be outscored.
  21. In reality there is no one who has shown any real promise for left field; for the Larnach pie-in-the-sky rhetoric, he has shown to be no better than Rooker, slow with lousy fielding ability. Celestino has fielding agility but has to learn to hit, Garlic looked good but is a center field back-up, other than those two you might as well throw the bones as it is a crap shoot based on -- gee I hope .... Time to sign a competent veteran for a year or two.
  22. Yep. While Polanco is far from a top 2nd Base Man, Donaldson, Simmons and Polanco are an excellent infield; sticking a rookie in there makes the infield SS just a AAA experiment.
  23. I wonder if being cut loose from the Twins bothers him now??
