    Hope Twins can sneak out a win Sunday. Dylan Cease for Sox is an exceptionally good pitcher. It could be quite the challenge. Twins have four inning Archer going. Lots of bullpen usage today. But they have almost a whole week off before their next game. Twins won Saturday scoring all their runs early and offense dissappearing again for most of the game. Twins have still lost 6 of their last 9 and looked pretty lethargic. Big game on Sunday. A loss would give Chicago 3 of 4 in the series. A Twins win however would split the series and Chicago would be right back where they were when the series started. Go Twins

    The twins have plenty of holes on this team; especially in the pitching department. To those who don't want to trade ANY Twins prospects I wonder how you intend on improving the team. If those prospects we have are so great why aren't they being called up to help the team? It's either because they are not that good and/ or they are overrated. Even this great Martin everyone ranted and raved about how we stole him from the Jays has dropped out of MLB top 100 prospects. You either have to be ready to promote the top prospects or move on from them at some point before they lose any trade value. And we know the Twins only make good trades right? Like just as the season started trading Rogers. Sorry, not a good example lol

    Interesting article. It seems filled with as many holes as your criticism of fans take on relievers. This attitude that everyone is looking for pitching help so we can't do anything is what gets this team in trouble. If the DO is incapable of righting the ship they shouldn't be here. If Baldelli continually misuses his pitching staff he shouldn't be here. The Twins have amongst the worst performing bullpen in all of baseball from the 7th inning on. They have given up a league leading 52 homeruns. No misleading analytic stat can change that. A few of these couldn't make another major league staff. I believe the bullpen losses are piling up. Instead of trying to hang on to first place

    Yes stuck a fork in Rocco as well. He is probably the most baffling manager the twins have had in recent memory. I've said all year that when all is said and done Rocco will be the biggest reason twins are eliminated. And of course our great FO is right behind them. Twins have been grossly outplayed and out managed. Being outscored 18-4 in two games at home shows how poorly prepared this team was for such an important series. Really inexcusable performances. Losing is one thing. Not showing up to play is on the great Baldelli. His laid back, stick to the plan, don't upset the players, I don't care if we win or not attitude is wearing very thin

    One word could describe the Twins "performance" last night: disgraceful. Twins have now lost 5 of their past 7 games. In those 5 losses they have given up 42 runs. The pitching has been suspect all year. Like many aspects of the team it plays well for short stretches and rotten for longer stretches. Oh yes, and the comment on Buxton haters is sad. I'm not a Buxton hater but a realist. The man was hitting .215 entering yesterday's game. He's been so streaky. He struck out 4 of 5 times the other night. He will have a good game or two here and there and everyone says he's the greatest player in the league. Let's get real here. He's good not great. Even our 35 million dollar shortstop isn't performing like a superstar should. He's had just an average season as far as superstar shortstops go. If this team wins the central by default it will probably be embarrassed again in the playoffs unless the FO can shore it up.

    Great job Miranda and twins pitching yesterday. If the twins could ever put it all together for an extended period they would be nearly unstoppable. Too many runners left on base. Failing to advance runners on multiple occasions. Yet a nice rookie, Miranda bailed them out. What about the great superstars of Correa and Buxton. Where have their bats been? They have both been awful for an extended period especially the great Buxton.

    Pitching is a big problem. Just look at the runs allowed the past 6 games. It was operating on thin ice. It is now drowning. If the FO is serious about contending this year it's time to upgrade and make a push for the playoffs. The division is looking to be given away to someone . Who will seize the opportunity?

    I doubt that they trade for a catcher but who knows? Our catching is a problem both offensively and defensively. They need help but we need pitching so much more. Let's hope the FO moves to improve the team for the stretch run.

    Yes Aareaz should be a starter. But for small market reasons we all knew it wasn't going to happen. As for Buxton? IMO there is no way he should have been a starter. He was fortunate to be named a reserve. He's hitting .215 and an on base perc of around .300. he has a very high strike out rate. He's struck out 80 times!! His part time status makes him undependable and leaves his manager with limited options. He's a very good player but not worthy of an all star appointment

    I totally agree that the Twins very seldom play a clean baseball game. They make too many physical and mental errors to be considered anything serious beyond a possible division champ. Way too many baserunning errors as well. Generally a pretty good team but very undisciplined.

    In the past 3 games the Twins have scored 20 runs. Unfortunately they have given up 24. The may win the division but unless this FO gets off their butts and adds some quality pitching the division may be lost and surely they will embarrass in playoffs again. You mentioned the bullpen did a good job. Then you kind of slide it in there that Duran gave up 2 runs. He is part of the bullpen. A very good part. But he still lost. Why sugar coat it? He's entitled to lose games too I guess

    It's buyer beware in every trade. But you make a good point in trading for relievers. What bothers me is to hear the Twins and others say it's going to be hard to trade for a reliever because everyone is looking for one. It's the FO job to bolster the team. It is there job to do it the best way possible. But do it!!! This bullpen has lost numerous games from the 8th inning on. I am not sure what if anything they are doing about it. The pitching department and bullpen in particular is a train wreck. Where is Falvey and the front office? Yes we are in first place, albeit in a poor division but should be a lot further ahead. Too many missed opportunities.

    Pitching,pitching and more pitching please. The offense seems to be ok all though they go through stretches where they are terrible. Pitching depth is needed

    Strange game from a consistently strange team. We have had so many winnable games thrown away by our so- called bullpen and Rocco. The only reason we are in first place is we play in a rotten division where no one can take control. Overall I give the Twins credit for taking advantage of this but so many lost and blown opportunities this year. Baldellis stubbornness in sticking to his game plan game in and game out is frustrating. This isn't the first time he's sat Correa and others for a day off and refused to budge when the game dictates situations. My god they have Thursday off. If Correa is that fragile he certainly does not belong on this team. Same with Rocco. I've said many times here and I still believe that Rocco and his managing style will be the ultimate downfall of this team. If we make the playoffs I imagine Correa and Buxton will have scheduled days off. Just a terrible manager.

    I love Cruz but the fact is he isn't needed at this stage for this team. Twins need pitching help foremost. Let's concentrate there

    Great win Twins. Let's sweep them on Wednesday! Hope Rocco uses a common sense regular lineup to face Lance Lynn. It's our chance to bury the Sox. No one needs a day off when they whole team is off on Thursday. Besides Joe Ryan deserves to have his regular fielders behind him. Go Twins!!

    How you could put Correa ahead of Arraez is strange. Arraez should be 1 then maybe Correa 2. Buxton at 3 is too high. He hits home runs like 22 at this point. His RBI is low for that many Homer's. But his part time status and his .227 average moves him down the list.

    Twins offense not that great this weekend. Glad they won 2 out of 3. People on here that keep telling us one game doesn't matter is kind of true. But those losses add up to maybe missing playoffs all together. Rocco's inability to be a manager has been shown the past couple of years. His game plan stubbornness and inability to do in game adjustments is appalling. Making sure Buxton gets one of his many days off and then not using him as a pinch hitter in key situations is becoming the norm. He is much more concerned about his game plan than winning. That is obvious. Don't upset the analytics and spread sheet. I will agree that Buxton is not a good pinch hitter and may not have mattered. But we surely don't know that do we? It is possible the computer that predicts everything could be wrong couldn't it? Or is this all MLB has become? Just a huge boring video game? And how can the players be tired. They get plenty of time off from the manager. Where else can a part time player like Buxton be congratulated for missing over 20% of games and not used when the team could use him. I've said it many times. I hope Twins win the division. In the likely event they do not Baldelli will be mostly responsible.

    I don't see much help from any of those pitchers this year. Injuries were way too serious and why push it and possibly make it worse. Four inning Archer could be moved to bullpen.

    Yes nice come from behind walk off win. Thanks Byron and Luis!! It helped to wipe out another bullpen blown game this time by Thielbar. Nice for twins to walk off for a change. We still need pitching help especially bullpen. Great game by Ryan

    I think it's time to move on from Sano. Yes he's streaky and the fewer and fewer hot streaks he has doesn't outweigh the many more poor streaks he has. When he comes back it's time to trade him for whatever you can get. The Twins have been very patient with him. But enough is enough.

    Yes these two could turn out well. Keep in mind that those who think they may blossom in the next 12-18 months, they could just as easily fail in that timeframe. As good as these prospects are purported to be Toronto gave up on them. A prospect is just a suspect until he proves otherwise.

    So who's fault was it that Thornburg had to be left out there to get hammered? Baldelli and FO. If the bullpen was used up who overused it? Baldellis continued overuse of a bullpen, albeit very weak, is what caused this situation. Not getting your starting pitchers stretched out by now to pitch into the 6th or 7th inning is inexcusable. This in turn puts way too much stress on a bullpen that looks burned out already. I've said all along and I still maintain that you cannot continually use 3-5 bullpen arms every game. It is simply not sustainable. Four inning Archer shows some nice stats except he pitched them in low stress innings and doesn't pitch more innings. The starting staff has and is just average. They are now below average because of teams inability to stretch them out. The season is half over, they should be stretched out by now. FO has done very little to nothing to improve the situation. Where are they? A couple of the pitchers on the staff could be DFAd easily. If you don't have anyone at AAA that can help them you will need to trade. If you wait until the trade deadline there may not be much reason left to try and improve the team this year.

    Truth is Baldelli is a horrible manager. He has no in game managing skills. Common sense would tell you not to send out pagan to start the inning after all the blowups he's had against Cleveland. The guardians must have been salavating when they saw him enter the game again. Maybe laughing. Yes Baldelli didn't have a ton of choices but ANYONE other than pagan to start the inning. And the FO doing pretty much nothing all year to try to improve the bullpen. Had pagan and the bullpen done their job the Twins would be 8 in front instead of 2. So many lost opportunities. Remember these games when the playoffs may be missed this fall due to Baldellis stubbornness and his loyalty to Pagan at the expense of the rest of the team.
