  1. That would be great to see Buxton play that many games!
  2. In an interview with The Athletic he said there is still some pain and that he's "working thru it" for now.
  3. I take issue saying "there's little upside" when talking about Arraez at 1B. When a guy gets on base at the rate he does, IMO that's upside, especially when you factor in that this FO has structured the team to be a HR hitting team. Dougie M. didn't hit for much power either yet he was a stable at 1st for a few years. I'm going to miss Arraez as he was the most entertaining guy on the team.
  4. how about this if, if AK can't go as expected, can Gallo play 1B and Gordon or Larnach play OF, or will they play Miranda at 1st and put Farmer at 3rd? Concerned about AK with the reports that he is still having some pain swinging.
  5. I wonder if the main reason they signed him is as a backup in case AK can't go. A little worried after reports that he is still having pain, and will have to live with it and try to work through it.
  6. I for 1 would think Mahle should go well over your IP. I think he is capable of 170+ innings, if allowed too.
  7. Now you can put together a chart that figures out guys that get on base and the pecentage of them that score. Then make up a lineup! maybe you get hired to manage!
  8. Very interesting. Lets hope for continued improvement! Solid #3 now, could he become a legitimate ace in time?
  9. I see option 3 making the most sense. He is reputed to be a family man and this gave him the certainty of raising his family in the "Minnesota Nice" atmosphere.
  10. Nice article! I will respectfully disagree about Jeffers being starter quality, at least so far. Defensively the juries still out on Miranda though.
  11. This is another example of why it is so important to draft well and build from within, especially for a mid market team. So far. it seems to me that drafting players may be a short coming for this FO. On the same hand, they seem to do fairly well picking up other teams MiLB players to develop.
  12. IMO the Twins made the right move. Going to AAA should help him regain his confidence I hope.
  13. I would go Polanco, Correa, Buxton, Miranda 1-4. At this point I would see Gallo 6 or 7.
  14. I could see an incentive heavy contract with a low base.
  15. I hope he rune more this year with the new rules. I don't know how the shift rule will play with him though as last year he hit so many soft grounders to 2nd.
  16. Mahle has the potential to be a #1 approaching an ace, and lets not forget about Paddock, who has a ton of potential IF he can regain and stay healthy.
  17. OK, but notice that only Berrios and Maeda got up to 6 IP. I hope you're right, but I have little faith in Rocco.
  18. This is why the Twins should start Buxton for all home games unless he's hurt. If they want rest him do it on the road!
  19. I am very interested to see how this staff is managed. If Rocco sticks to the 5 and fly again your estimates on IP is prbably very close. In addition, if the Twins want to resign any of these guys good luck.
  20. IMO, they need to be careful trading away the youth. While we have some depth, things can change so fast. And what will happen when it comes time to sign some of these guys? Are the funds going to be there? I do applaud what has been done so far, but there are some guys that are either going to have to be extended, traded, or they will be free agents in the next few seasons. If you trade your youth who will you have to replace them? I wonder if they could work out a way to trade Rocco? LOL
  21. I would like to see Duran in a more conventional closer role.
  22. IMO Ober should be in the pen, replacing (hopefully) Pagan but probably Megill. I agree the pen IS top heavy, with a shortage of 2-3 inning guys. They got burned out last year that way, (and the way they seem set on limiting starters) so it would be nice to see Ober there. Jax and Ober would be a very good combo of 2-3 inning guys, while using Pagan as mop up.
  23. Please no to Gallo batting leadoff. Don't need to start a game with a big K. Buxton, Polanco, even Correa would fit better there IMO.
  24. I still like Martin a lot. Just leave him alone and let him hit for avg. and get on base. He has good speed and with a question of how the new rules will effect base running, I see a lot of upside. Think Arraez with speed!
