  1. and look at July 4th. 4 hits, all to right field Joe is always worth watching when he is at bat. and he has become a pretty good first baseman as well.
  2. Will Arcia ever see Target Field again? >>> I sure hope so >>> and soon
  3. I only want Santana, Hughes, Pelfrey, Gibson, May, Milone and Nolasco to all be starters and I want a 5 man rotation. I am glad I don't have to figure out how to do that. oh yeah. I want Arcia called up and playing/batting every day.
  4. If the Rochester starters are indeed knocking on the door, then the Red Wings should have a great record in July and August.
  5. This list is even more impressive given the absence of Nick Burdi, Zach Jones and Jake Reed. These were thought to be the Twins relievers of the future but they have all struggled in AA.
  6. to get something we have to give something... and the thought of giving up any of our precious prospects makes me cringe... I would be much happier to keep who we have, add Sano and hope for the best.
  7. I always liked the idea of Tomkin, however, I was not impressed with his performance. I love the idea of Meyer. the relief pitcher and I hope I will love his performance as well.
  8. Somebody knows some things that we don't.
  9. I appreciate the links to your other articles in the series. It was good to catch up on the ones I missed.
  10. "This season Jay went 5-2 with 14 saves and 76 strikeouts in 66.2 innings pitched," That is a lot of innings for a reliever. I hope the Twins give him a very light pitching load this summer.
  11. Oh NO.the LOOGY again! The present day Duensing is better than the present day Coke. You can look it up.
  12. With nobody on base, Mauer's slash line is .188 .224 .302 .526 UGLY ! With runners on base, his slash line is: . 352 .458 .476 .934 Excellent. What does this tell us ?
  13. Miguel Cabrera
  14. Thats mean. Be happy with the current situation but please don't abuse the dearly departed.
  15. Remember. Rosario and Sano were Appy League leaders in batting, HR & RBI. Rosario, Sano and Vargas tore threw Beloit together and again in 2013, terrorized at Ft Meyers. Injuries and bad judgement have separated the 3 of them, but they could be reunited again at Target Field in September (if not sooner). At least that is my hope.
  16. hmmmfff. Adam Brett Walker looks like he was born to play for Toronto. I bet he has a Jose Batista poster hanging on the wall. He could be the next Dave Kingman/Adam Dunn,... or not...
  17. Every day I check the Lookouts box-score to see what Kepler did. I expect to see him in Minnesota in September.
  18. I cannot fault your logic. I admit, I have never been a fan of the LOOGY, except when the LOOGY is ultra successful. (My hindsight may not be 20-20, but I know how I feel). I agree, considering their current performances, to drop Duensing and Thompson and give Thielbar a try. Otherwise, the Twins are better off without a LOOGY.
  19. Dang! There are people writing as though this is supposed to be a serious discussion. I guess if u don't read the daily game threads, you won't know the writers or get the joke.
  20. When Pelfrey commented that He followed Dr. Tom House's exercise program and I have watched Pelfrey maintain his velocity into the 7th inning, I became convinced that his performance is real and unlikely to regress unless he has an injury. Look at the Cardinals. They have been using Dr. House;s methods for quite some time and look at the success their pitchers have had. Why can't the Twins duplicate that ?
  21. Good Luck to Schafer. He did seem to have lost some speed over the Winter.
  22. Big Mike Pelfrey is a HORSE ! He is not the 2013 Mike Pelfrey. He has a new arm and a new pitch and a new delivery. He could pitch this way for the next 5 years. Have you watched his games ? Have you watched him pitch ? I look forward to his every outing. I hope TR offers him a contract extension and I hope he takes it.
  23. Burt was talking about what he had to do after Dick swam in his pool. The Card color guy didn't even raise his voice or sound excited after Jason Heyward hit his home run. Dick sounds excited when the opponent makes a loud out.
  24. To bring up Meyers, the Twins will have to drop 3 !!! count 'em !!! THREE !!! of our current relievers. One must go to make room for Santana. One must go to make room for Nolasco. And one must go to make room for Meyers. Everybody will pick Duensing,,, some will pick Thompson... Who next ??? Tomkin ? Even if you brought up Meyers first, the other choices must be made.
