  1. Forget Hicks. He is a head case and an attitude problem Congratulations Eddie. I am looking forward to seeing what you can do.
  2. This entire thread is based on frustration. Hunter will be done, when he no longer hits or is unable to play the OF due to injury. Then Molitor will tell us all that he is done by NOT playing him. Until then, we can enjoy his clutch hitting in the 2 spot.
  3. I think of it this way...Every game Santana does not have an error is a good day. Every day he gets a hit is a better day. Days when he has hits and no errors (or brain farts) is a great day. Escobar should be compared with LNP (Little Nicky Punto) or Alexi Casilla, not Florimon.
  4. Hermann has done nothing to deserve demotion. Lets wait until Pinoto's power returns.
  5. i believe Vargas played with Sano and Polanco in Beloit and again with the Miracle. Now he has passed them up. I believe it was stated that when they moved Sano and Rosario to AA the comment was something like, "Now lets see what Vargas can do on his own." We are still seeing what Vargas can do without Sano and Rosario in the lineup, but I hope that will soon change.
  6. The Twins must have decided that Santana would be a better long term option at SS than Polanco. Therefore, this year is Santana's year to make mistakes. The payoff will be in the 2nd half of the season and beyond (assuming he hits).
  7. Pelfrey is throwing 93-94 in the 6th/7th innings, He's a starter, for sure.
  8. Perhaps DFASing Stauffer could lead to Meyer being brought up to pitch in the bullpen. I'd love to see him and his fasball pitching the 8th inning.
  9. Great article. Not one mention of Hicks (thank God). Keep up the good work.
  10. Buxton has not been in the Lookout lineup for the past 2 games. Why ?
  11. Pelfrey was throwing 94mph pitches in the 7th inning. This could be the first of many fine performances. Pino, Walters and the rest never came close to that.
  12. According to Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press, Ricky Nolasco will be making a rehab start in Cedar Rapids on Saturday. http://www.twincities.com/twins/ci_27945723/minnesota-twins-ricky-nolasco-set-rehab-assignment?source=rss If it is successful, he should be returning to the Twins. Will he take his place in the rotation or will they put Nolasco in the bullpen? After Pelfrey's 7 innings of shutout pitching last night, all 5 of the current starters have had a quality start. If Molitor puts Nolasco in the rotation, who should Nolasco replace ?
  13. Since Molitor has decided to make Santana his SS, he needs to give him more time to smooth out his defensive lapses. However, he should be removed from the leadoff spot. Let Dozier lead off and bat Plouffe 4th. The Twins could live with that for a while.
  14. Molitor is pulling pitchers at the 100 pitch count. It is doubtful there will be any complete games this year.
  15. I see Santana playing SS thru April. I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved to 8th or 9th in the batting order. If he doesn't start to hit and field better by May, I suspect the Twins will do something dramatic.
  16. For those of you who like to keep track of the MiLB scores. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?cid=&lid=&org=142&sc=&sid=milb&t=affiliate&ymd Chattanooga was postponed.
  17. GM's must take risks.Unfortunately, Ryan's 2 biggest risks (Nolasco & Santana) have been losers. The Milone trade wasn't a risky one and despite last year, he will prove to be a long term asset. Last year, Suzuki said that when he was with the A's Milone had excellent control. We can only hope that Ryan will make other decisions as good as the Milone trade in the future.
  18. In fairness to Souhan (who I think is a waste of space as a columnist), he did not say to bring up Buxton NOW!!! I think most would agree that Buxton should be brought up as soon as he shows he is ready, but now is not the time. (Thinking about it, this is another example of Souhan wasting space.)
  19. in 2014 Hughes ranked 4th in the AL in Wins, 10th in innings pitched, 7th in Strikeouts, 1st in Walks surrendered by qualifying starting pitchers. That looks like a Hughes was a borderline Ace in 2014 to me. What his stats will look like at the end of the year, is anyone's guess.
  20. Fastballs in the mid ninety's that moves. Veteran status. As ugly as it was today he is worth a good look..
  21. Meyer did not have a good night. 23. 2 unwatchable games in a row ... our perceptions are clouded by recent events. We have 6 months to left to play.... even if we lose the next 10 games in a row, they are still our Twins.
