  1. I look at 2016 and I see how good the results are. I look at this 2019 and see how iffy we are now. Hurt players, under-performing players. I am glad we have the 2016 class in place.
  2. You must applaud a true fan, like your friend. You must be appalled at his choice of teams.
  3. The Turtle gives us fat folks someone to root for. and there a lot of fat folks in MN.
  4. And why would the Padres trade him ? and When ? They are close to front in the wildcard race and I doubt that will be much different by August. Besides that, we shouldn't give much for a year and a half rental (assuming he performs close to his current norms.) You can't expect much out of him after next year.
  5. Once upon a time the Twins won a couple WS too. good article.
  6. Always love to see the Minnesota boys play for the Twins.
  7. Littell gone. Garver back. Who will go when Cruz returns? My guess is Arraez
  8. For the first time this year, I didn't get nervous when they handed the ball over to the bullpen. I took a break, got some coffee, chatted with my wife and when I got back, things were OK. It was then that I realized that I wasn't worried. Good game. Good Bullpen.
  9. I checked transactions. Littell is still with us.
  10. absolutely send Littell back. Let him and another RP shuffle back & forth from Rochester. If Arraez keeps hitting, put the most banged-up player on the 10-day DL and keep shuffling until Arraez stops hitting or you run out of banged up players. (Which I doubt would ever happen.)
  11. It seems like it exposes the pitchers aren't as ready as we thought they were. It also may indicate that the hitters have more power than their stats show.
  12. I'd like to see some old fashion "pitch to contact" with some quick outs. These 10 pitch at bats will wear out any pitching staff before the summer gets here.
  13. Any 38 year old needs more rest than they did when they were younger. Analytics will tell them when to rest Cruz
  14. I was thrilled to see both Austudillo & Austin make the roster. Austin should share 1b equally with Cron. Cruz doesn't have to play everyday. Cave should get lots of time in the OF. Austudillo and Gonzales can be played around the field. Schoop can give up a day to each of them. It can be done where all of them are in the lineup 4 or 5 days of the week until someone else gets hurt. Lets pray that Baldelli can find the best place for each of them to get there times at bat.
  15. This kind of article is why I read TD.
  16. Its almost as if some people only read stats and don't watch the games. I know that isn't true, but it sounds like it. -Sano (when healthy) could have a thunderous bat and a bazooka arm, and end up being the most sought after 3rd baseman in the majors. -We saw what Buxton can do in the field. When he finds his hitting stroke (and he will) he will be get MVP consideration. -Polanco has turned into a solid fielder and a strong bat at SS. -Schoop, if he returns to 2017 levels would be an all star. -Kepler and Rosario are proven excellent fielders and their bats can carry them to the top of the stat sheet. -Who knows what a year off will do for Castro, but his fielding and pitch calling and framing will make our pitching staff stronger and a .250 average is not out of reach for him. I know this is more optimism than some folks can take, but we've watched them do it. The talent is there and it is young. Lets enjoy this bunch we have and be glad they are giving them another chance to redeem themselves.
  17. Buxton, Sano, Rosario, Kepler, Castro would all be top players in any roster & we have 4 solid starters that could have clutch seasons. I'll take my chances with this lineup, thank you.
  18. I would be frustrated with anything but standing pat. Let's give Buxton & Sano another year. If they both mature, as expected we are headed to the playoffs. If they don't, we can still be a .500 team. This team is far from mediocre. Lets be patient, sit tight and hang on. 2019 will be a thrill ride.
  19. I have a novel idea. Leave one position alone. Left Field. Run Eddy Rosario out there every day and let him do what he does. He's worth the price of admission to any Twins game.
  20. To me, the best development of 2018 is the progress of Eddie Rosario. Now he can be depended on to be an All-Star caliber performer, both at bat and in the field
