  1. Definitely time to update. Buxton (280) and Kepler (150) have too many at bats to qualify any longer. That is, unless we want to make special rules/exceptions so Buxton can be a prospect forever. ;-)
  2. Thank you. It saves me time writing this, too
  3. Exactly. There is/was a reason Washington traded Meyer. And Capps. The fleecing of Minnesota. Ouch.
  4. This deal is already 4 years to none. It is a horrible deal. Absolutely no value to the Twins in 4 years. These years count, too. Consistent bad luck, at some point, becomes more than just bad luck.
  5. And then there was this.... sigh..... Tampa Bay right-hander Chih-Wei Hu, picked up from Minnesota last July in a trade for Kevin Jepsen (since released by the Twins), was also impressive, throwing 94-97 mph with an out pitch in his palmball that comes in at 89-91 with splitter-like bottom. He comes from a three-quarters slot with a little deception, so while the fastball doesn't have a lot of plane I don't think it's as vulnerable as it might otherwise be.
  6. Damn. Another spotlight, and another tank. It would be nice if they didn't create a mess that needs cleaned up in the first place! When will our guys be the ones that step up and shine instead of tank? Mentally, they just don't seem to be ready or prepared.
  7. Exactly what I was thinking. What is the idea here? Let him get humiliated? That will show him? Can't let him build confidence? Break him down to build him up? Pretty primitive.
  8. There was no Mad Max 2. The Masterpiece of the 4 was Road Warrior.
  9. If the all-star teams voters considered full seasons, they would/should consider the second half of the previous season and post season play. Pace? Take Dozier's year. Pace unfulfilled. Extremely. Pace should never be a consideration in my book. Pace is fantasy. I don't find this negative, Cody. Reality is not negative or positive.
  10. A .320 average with under 10 homers and doubles for a first sacker wouldn't get my vote. Especially compared to other first basemen. An all-star IS somewhat of a lifetime achievement award. Always has been. Or it should be. A couple hot months once in a career does not make an all-star in my book, even though with the silly fan voting where a person can vote a limitless amount of times it has made it that. Kershaw being left off last year until he became an injury replacement was a joke. Good for Nunez, who is more deserving than Cuddyer was in 2011, but obligatory picks have to be made. If Nunez keeps this up through next year, then he deserves it. I would put Cuddyer in 2011 on this list. He earned it in 2013 on the Rockies, though.
  11. Totally agree. We now have the tools to get it right. Before it was just guessing.
  12. Can't one be on the rubber but not preparing to start his delivery? And would mean both actions have to have happened.
  13. Dozier misses outs on plays like this all the time as he never holds his glove on the runner. Many many times he sweep tags and then holds his glove up instead of holding his glove on the runner just incase they come off the bag as they so often do.
  14. 26. 4 years before the decline starts? I still consider young in baseball 23 and under. 24-29 is middle aged, and 30 and above is in decline. There are always exceptions, but young is thrown around far too generously in my opinion.
  15. Dozier is 2 for his last 25.... and Molitor is batting him lead-off. Amazing.
  16. Dozier has his hot streak for the year and the elite talk gets diarrhea. Don't look now, but he is 2 for his last 23 as I post this. So easily swayed. Dozier still hasn't learned to keep his glove on the runner when he tags them after all these years. Elite? Maybe in some fantasy. Definitely trade Dozier, who's leadership reign sports one of the worst records in Twins' history.
  17. One appearance. I believe a couple of those runs were let cross the plate as a gift from a following relief expert - the inherited runs scored experts. How many relievers have a bad outing? It is past due time for his return. He should have been given more appearances the first round.
  18. He needs work on angles off the wall. The misplay on the corner bounce in Texas late in the game on Friday 7/8 turned a double into a triple and a following fly ball into a go ahead sac fly, and that was the game.
  19. I came back to read all the true confessions.... darn. Was looking forward to finding out about some real juicy stuff. ;-) Good luck Mr Allen.
  20. Please. No more prospects. This team wastes prospects.
  21. Whoops.... there it is.
  22. Whoa. I can't get that carried away here. The only reason Nunez is an all-star is because the rules make someone be selected from the Twins, and not because he made it competing against the American League on his own merit. If voter's were astute, they would consider the whole period from last year's game, at least a whole year.
  23. One half of one season in a so mediocre career, and it is the best this team has to offer for the mandatory selection. An All-star. A revered honor. Right up there with Willie Mays and Harmon Killebrew, eh?
  24. One half of one season with a .320 average can make one an all-star these days. The obligatory selection from this horrid team. It is comical, really when one considers what all-star is supposed to mean. This team has soooo far to go.
  25. Ah. Thanks. Makes sense to me too. I take that back now. Sorry Molitor. You get a pass on this one.
